Event Description The 2021 St. Paddy s Day Bicycle Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, March 13 at Kiroli Park in West Monroe. The event is hosted by the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and Kiroli Park Foundation. The Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free for the public. Following COVID-19 guidance, social distancing and masks are encouraged during the event. The festivities will include live music and entertainment, St. Paddy s Day arts and crafts, games, and so much more! Free green lemonade and additional food items will be for sale. The Bicycle Parade is open to adults, children and pets and is a non-motorized parade that can include bicycles, scooters, wagons, strollers, etc. The parade lines up at 1 p.m. and begins shortly afterwards. Prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated adult, children and pets. ....

Staff report NEW LONDON Some area residents may be without power for most of the day on March 7. Firelands Electric Cooperative received notice from its transmission provider that the lines delivering electric power to Firelands Electric’s New London substation will be taken out of service for an emergency planned transmission outage that is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. on March 7, according to a news release from Firelands. The transmission provider will be making critical equipment repairs, and estimates the work will take approximately 8 hours, the release states. Well, we found out, This year it will be a Virtual Thunderfest! Late in the winter for the past nine years, a thousand or more people have gathered in Adams for a celebration of winter in the Berkshires called ThunderFest. Last year it was held on March 7, six days before the pandemic brought an end to large events in Massachusetts. This year, the organizers of the 10th Thunderfest will not let it be canceled, instead, they will take it online! ....
