New London area to be affected by transmission line project

Staff report NEW LONDON  Some area residents may be without power for most of the day on March 7. Firelands Electric Cooperative received notice from its transmission provider that the lines delivering electric power to Firelands Electric’s New London substation will be taken out of service for an emergency planned transmission outage that is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. on March 7, according to a news release from Firelands. The transmission provider will be making critical equipment repairs, and estimates the work will take approximately 8 hours, the release states.
