Critical violations found in Ottawa County restaurant inspections

The Ottawa County Health Department s Sanitation Division reported the following critical violations during food inspections between April 7 and May 5:
Bruno s Pizzeria, 726 W. Main St., Marblehead. Violations: Facility not sanitizing food surfaces (corrected, repeat); food products being held over 24 hours without a date mark for discard (corrected, repeat); items had date marks that were expired (corrected, repeat).
Millers New Market, 22361 W. Holt Harrigan Road, Genoa. Violations: Old food and particles build up on slicers (corrected, repeat); house made tapioca pudding in display case with date mark exceeding 7 days (repeat); bread slicer with old food build up; shelving in walk-in cooler in poor repair; baby food expired on the shelf (corrected).

NEW LONDON Some area residents may be without power for most of the day on March 7.
Firelands Electric Cooperative received notice from its transmission provider that the lines delivering electric power to Firelands Electric’s New London substation will be taken out of service for an emergency planned transmission outage that is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. on March 7, according to a news release from Firelands.
The transmission provider will be making critical equipment repairs, and estimates the work will take approximately 8 hours, the release states.

Absa Launches ‘12 Days Of Cardmas’ Daily Guide Network

ABSA BANK Ghana has launched a special Christmas discount campaign known as ‘12 Days of Cardmas’ for customers who use the Absa Vertical Cards to make payments at selected partner outlets during this festive season.
The promo, which started December 11, would see Absa customers enjoy up to 40% discount on payments made with the Absa Vertical Card at partner outlets such as supermarkets, consumer electronics and home appliance shops, shopping malls, restaurants and eatery joints, furniture shops among others.
According to Absa Bank, the campaign is to promote card usage, reward loyalty and encourage customers to patronize products and services from the bank’s alliance partners during this festive season.
