A move to help people lower their medical bills by enabling access to generic versions of costly branded drugs led Ankur Agarwal to establish Medkart Pharmacy in Ahmedabad with Parasharan Chari and Parthiv Shah.
The medtech startup was set up in September 2014 to raise awareness about cheap generic drugs certified by the World Health Organization’s Good Medical Practices (WHO GMP) and make them available to patients.

The Indian government has recognised 41,061 startups as of December 23, 2020, according to the Economic Survey 2020-21. The country houses 38 unicorns, 200+ accelerators and incubators, 1,450+ active investors and a huge network of mentors and platforms helping startups grow and scale.
However, there is still a dearth of platforms that make all resources accessible at one place, for startups and investors that invest primarily at the idea stage.
Wadhwani Foundation aims to change that.
Launched in 2000, the Bengaluru-based global not-for-profit organisation aims to become a catalyst with its initiative,
Wadhwani Venture Fastrack (VFT).
The foundation aims to accelerate economic development in emerging economies by driving job creation through “large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling”.

While pursuing his BTech degree in 2018, Gautam, now 25, launched Triny to
provide AI-based chatbot and WhatsApp marketing platform for businesses.
The startup, based in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, aims to help businesses connect with their users via WhatsApp in a hybrid manner using AI chatbots and human support.
“We started the company while in college in early 2018. We first started by selling Facebook chatbots and then shifted to Web chatbots and now our offering has both Web and WhatsApp chat assistants,” Gautam says. Currently, the startup has a nine member team.
