A seaman with Covid-19 died of complications from the virus on Sunday, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in its update last night.
The 34-year-old man from Ukraine was a sea crew member who arrived in Singapore on board a vessel on July 29.
He had developed a fever, cough and lethargy on July 25 and breathlessness on July 31.
He was taken from the vessel to the Singapore General Hospital on Aug 1, and was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection the same day.

Children under 12 in Singapore infected with Covid-19 have had only a mild infection and none has needed intensive care or oxygen support, said Education Minister Chan Chun Sing yesterday.
As for inoculation against the coronavirus, he said the expert committee on Covid-19 vaccination is monitoring ongoing vaccination trials for children under 12 and will make recommendations when it is ready.
Outlining in Parliament the steps taken to keep children safe, Mr Chan said schools will continue to fine-tune safe management measures as Singapore moves towards dealing with Covid-19 as an endemic disease.

Two KTV lounges that were meant to reopen yesterday will remain closed.
Checks by The Straits Times on a third outlet revealed that it had not reopened either.
The Health Ministry (MOH) said on July 13 that Club Dolce at Balestier Point, Wu Bistro at Golden Mile Complex and Club De Zara at Textile Centre will be closed from July 13 to July 27 after the ministry detected likely ongoing transmissions of Covid-19 at those places.

Five new Covid-19 clusters have surfaced, one of which involves workers at a home-grown bakery in Jurong.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in an update yesterday that six cases have been linked to a new cluster at the Home s Favourite bakery at Jurong Food Hub, and there is likely an ongoing transmission at the premises.
The bakery, located at 15 Jalan Tepong, will be closed from until Aug 12 for deep cleaning and to reduce the chances of transmission. All staff will be tested and placed on quarantine.
