Henderson County News: Green Meadows sweep results in 18 trafficking arrests

  Law officers from seven agencies joined drug task force members in the sweep of Operation WaveRider, which began after numerous complaints of drug trafficking and numerous overdose cases in Hendersonville and Henderson County. Detectives identified Kendall Angram as the supply source for various controlled substances associated with the overdoses and were able to identify numerous individuals associated with Angram’s drug trafficking organization. As a result of the search warrants executed late last week, detectives located and seized quantities of cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, MDMA/Ecstasy. Detectives also seized $12,000 in cash as well as seven firearms. Arrested and processed through the Henderson County Sheriffs Office’s Detention Facility were:

During the search deputies seized 424 grams of methamphetamine, 1,078 doses of MDMA/Ecstasy, 16 grams of crack cocaine, 10 grams of cocaine, three grams of fentanyl, 53 grams of marijuana/THC products and $4,550 in cash. Bryon Antonio Gaines was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine level 3, trafficking in MDMA, three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for drug sales. Police: Investigation leads to drug seizure, arrest, $1.1M bond for Hendersonville man From staff reports On April 28, detectives with the Henderson County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 1619 Fruitland Road in Hendersonville.  The search warrant was executed as a result of an investigation being conducted by detectives on Bryon Antonio Gaines. As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized: 424 grams of methamphetamine 16 grams of crack cocaine 10 grams of cocaine $4,550 in cash  Trafficking in methamphetamine level 3  Trafficking in MDMA level 1 Three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule 2 controlled substance

Sheriff: Man killed mother, stepfather before shooting 2 deputies at Boone home WSOCTV.com News Staff Two deputies were killed and three other people, including the gunman, were found dead after a 13-hour standoff in Boone on Wednesday, the Watauga County sheriff said. Authorities said the two deputies died in the shooting that prompted a daylong standoff Wednesday that dragged into the night with law enforcement officers surrounding a home. The sheriff identified the gunman as 32-year-old Isaac Alton Barnes. Officials believe he died by suicide. Breaking Boone- sheriff Hagaman just spoke with us confirming the second deputy has died. They also found the suspect’s mother and stepfather deceased. Police had been to the home over the weekend.
