Uttar Pradesh: Couple found murdered in trans-Ganga, infant spared | Allahabad News

Dev Narayan and his wife Ranjana PRAYAGRAJ: A couple was found murdered at their residence at Mani Ka Pura Mazra village under the limits of Soraon police station in trans-Ganga on early Wednesday morning. The unidentified killers, however, maintained mercy on the 10 month-old infant son of the slain couple and escaped unchallenged. Upon being alerted, senior police officials including SSP, SP (trans-Ganga) along with the police and forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. The deceased have been identified as Devranjan alias Dev Narayan (30) and his wife Ranjana(28), residents of Mani Ka Pura. The bodies of husband and wife were spotted on separate cots with their throats slit. The motive behind the sensational killing was still unknown.

Post-poll violence: Protests in Bengal, killings in BJP-run Uttar Pradesh

Violence has erupted across Uttar Pradesh following the announcement of the panchayat poll results, killing at least five people since Tuesday, while BJP leaders are sitting in dharna in every district against the post-Assembly-poll violence in Bengal. The rural poll results, announced from Monday to Wednesday, show the Samajwadi Party outperforming the ruling BJP as it had done in 2016. Fingers have been raised against both parties for the violence. BJP leaders and workers, including state unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh, have sat on dharnas for a few hours in front of their homes complying with the Covid protocol on Wednesday and Thursday in protest against the violence in Bengal after Trinamul’s Assembly election victory.

Mysterious deaths not due to spurious liquor, claim police | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: A joint team of police and administration on Tuesday clarified that the mysterious death of four persons in a remote village in Saidabad and Handia blocks in the trans-Ganga area in the past 48 hours cannot be attributed to spurious liquor. SP (Trans Ganga) Dhawal Jaiswal told TOI that three out of four persons had died due to illness\diseases and that the bodies have been sent for post mortem to ascertain the cause of death. SP, meanwhile, said that a man identified as Ajay Lal Gupta died of a gastro problem as he had not consumed meals for the past five days. Similarly, another person named Kabir alias Ramji of Sangram Patti village, suffering from paralysis had died after consuming spirit in the Allahapur area of the city. Besides, another person identified as Chote Lal Kanojia of Beenda village died after consuming an excessive amount of spurious liquor.
