Meanwhile, on social media, some revellers have praised the event.
Bonnie Askew said: We’ve been tonight and it was much better then we expected, from start to finish it was an hour, no scary people and Father Christmas was good. We had two very happy granddaughters. Don’t listen to the negative comments, tonight was definitely better then what most people have said they must have changed a few things to make it better.
However, Simon Littleboy, landlord of The Ringland Swan bar and restaurant, said ridiculous traffic from the event had caused five tables to cancel on Friday night.

Organisers of a drive-through Santa s grotto described as shambolic have blamed teething problems and insisted that improvements have been made.
The event in the grounds of Taverham Hall, near Norwich, opened on Friday.
Later that day, the event s Facebook page contained complaints about traffic chaos and creepy performers.
But Ollie George, from organisers We Make Events, said the feedback was now much more positive . Saturday grotto visitors found it magical , he added.
He claimed feedback from customers attending on Saturday night had been more positive after improvements were also made to the experience, which is billed as a way to experience a visit to see Santa while social distancing.
“There was also a large amount of feedback around the Scrooge character being too frightening for very young children, he said.
“Working with the creative team, we have adjusted the route and removed the Scrooge-style character after the first evening.”
Some characters prompted visitors to compared the event more to Halloween than Christmas.

Among those to attend was Leanne Reed who said they had still queued for nearly two hours to get in.
