Service restored overnight but setback due to equipment failure. Bottled water distribution continues at Patrick Copeland Elementary School
HOPEWELL, Va. (February 16, 2021) -
Although water service had been restored to customers overnight, Virginia American Water is reporting a service outage again in its Hopewell District due to equipment failure. This includes approximately 9,500 customers in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strattford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County.
Virginia American Water is working to resolve the issue in the Hopewell system as quickly and safely as possible, and thanks its customers for their patience and understanding.

(February 14, 2021)-Due to a power outage resulting from the recent ice storms impacting Virginia American Water s water treatment plant in Hopewell, the company has issued a conservation notice for all customers served by its Hopewell water system. This includes approximately 9,500 customers in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strattford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County. Customers were notified through company s Code Red customer notification system which is delivered by phone call, text or email, and the city of Hopewell s emergency notification system.
