SSO to Celebrate Bach Concertos Virtually

By Carol Thomson Apr 24, 2021 9:12 AM It’s like reading a really good book that you don’t want to end.  That’s the way the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra’s music director describes Johann Sebastian Bach’s works. The SSO is celebrating the 300th anniversary of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Saturday night in their livestream performance.  Eric Paetkau  expects the music will be recognizable because these concertos are a staple in banquet halls and at weddings.  He says these livestream concerts have been the beginning of something they hadn’t expected, reaching people from all over.  SSO’s music director expects there will be a hybrid model for performances once we can all gather safely again after the pandemic.
