lockdown, seek government aid to stay afloat

Karnataka Small Scale
Industries Association (KASSIA) appealed to the state government to provide relief packages to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during the pandemic.
KASSIA’s president, K B Arasappa said that small and medium industrialists are grateful that the government supported MSMEs and announced relief packages for them during the lockdown last year.
“The government’s timely action last year, exempting the industries from the lockdown and allowing the sector to operate helped SMEs and kept them motivated during the crisis,” said Arasappa. Unfortunately the pandemic has crippled the functioning of the SMEs again, driving them to worry if there is a solution for them, even after the lockdown

BS Yediyurappa on Thursday announced that the curfew will be in force between 10 pm and 5 am from Saturday.
According to PC Rao, president, Bruhat Bengaluru Hotels Association, the hospitality segment in Bengaluru is on the recovery path but the proposed curfew will come as a disaster. “Citizens go to hotels after 9 pm.
