Jagadish Shettar, minister for
Large and Medium Industries, said that he will fix the property tax issue for the industrial units in the
State.
Shettar said that the decision on fixing the property tax for industrial units will be taken after holding a meeting between senior officials of the industries department, urban development and municipal administration. “The
urban development department will submit a proposal to the
Cabinet shortly,’’ he said.
“Industrial towns and the areas that come under local bodies can be developed by allocating 70 per cent of the total revenue to the township authorities and 30 per cent to the local bodies,’’ he added.

The members of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) appealed to Nirmala Sitharaman to bring petrol and diesel under the GST regime.
The members of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), led by its president Perikal M. Sundar, on Friday appealed to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to bring petrol and diesel under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime besides reducing the GST on commodities required for daily needs to contain inflation.
The FKCCI in its memorandum also urged the Finance Minister to waive off of the processing fees to sanction fresh loans, besides enhancing the existing loans granted to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
