Srinagar Admin Declares 7 More Areas As Containment Zones
SRINAGAR: the district administration Srinagar has declared seven more areas as Containment zones in Srinagar in view of the fresh detection of Covid-19 Positive cases.
According to the separate orders issued by the DDMA Srinagar, the areas which have been declared containment zones are Parimpora, Zoonimar, Peerbagh, Gulab Bagh, Jawhar Nagar, Boatman Colony Bemina and Mehjoor Nagar.
The order reads that in view of the detection of more than twenty and thirty cases respectively, the respective areas have been declared as containment zones.
District Magistrate Srinagar, who is also the chairman of DDMA, Mohammad Aijaz in separate orders said that it has become imperative to take preventive measures in these localities to contain the further spread of the Covid-19.

SRINAGAR: On April 20, Turab Shah, 30, received a call from her sister, Ishrat, 37. She informed him about being tested COVID-19 positive. Ishrat along with her husband lives in the Gulab Bagh area of Srinagar. But a day before she was tested positive, she was at her brother’s home in Karan Nagar, where she met her elderly mother too. “Get all family members tested immediately,” Ishrat told Shah over the phone.
Acting quickly, shah got all of his family members tested. Shah’s brother, mother and father turned positive. The health conditions of all of them in a day’s period of time changed. They were now visibly symptomatic: fever, breathlessness and body pain, all symptoms gripped them quickly. The family is clueless about how they actually contracted the virus.
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1937 fresh covid-19 cases while 19 people succumbed to the virus, the highest so far this year, officials said on Friday.
They said 846 of the cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 1091 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours, taking the total case tally to 156344.
Regarding the fresh fatalities, the officials told GNS that 13 victims belonged to Jammu Division and six were from Kashmir valley. With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 2111 796 in Jammu and 1315 in Kashmir.
Providing district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 501 cases, Baramulla 118, Budgam 156, Pulwama 55, Kupwara 59, Anantnag 75, Bandipora 14, Ganderbal 40, Kulgam 61, Shopian 12, Jammu 525, Udhampur 72, Rajouri 45, Doda 13, Kathua 33, Samba 25, Kishtwar 3, Poonch 30, Ramban 22 and Reasi 78.
