Deltona, FL – A traffic crash Friday (June 25) afternoon took an 84-year-old Deltona man’s life and critically injured two others. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit says that Donald Fisher, along with his passenger 79-year-old Thomas Snip, were traveling south on East Normandy Boulevard in a 2015 Volkswagen sedan. Their car was hit by a 2003 Dodge Ram being driven by 45-year-old Robert Shavers, Jr. Investigators say Shavers was driving northeast on East Normandy when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to spin into oncoming traffic. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene. Snip and Shavers, both of Deltona, are in critical condition. This is an active investigation. There’s no word if any charges are pending.
