Karnataka govt clears 5 investment proposals worth Rs 26,659 crore News Network December 22, 2020 Bengaluru, Dec 22: The State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday cleared five projects with an total investment potential of Rs 26,659 crore and can generate employment to 13,341 people. Investments cleared in the 55th SHLCC meeting include two proposals by Elest Pvt Ltd in Hubli/Dharwad – one include two proposals by Elest Pvt Ltd in Hubli/Dharwad worth Rs 14,255 crore on 85 acres of land for electric vehicle manufacturing, with a potential to generate employment for 867 people. The other is worth Rs 6,339 crore on 88 acres for lithium ion cells and battery manufacturing unit, that can generate 1,804 jobs.

Two scooter-borne people had arrived near New Chitra Junction in the city on that day, after which the pillion rider had walked to the check point where Bunder station head constable, Ganesh Kamath, along with two women constables, was checking vehicles, and escaped after suddenly hitting Kamath with a sword. Muhammed Nawaz (30) from Kudroli, and a 16-year-old boy, were taken into custody. Nawaz has been remanded to judicial custody till December 24 while the minor has been admitted into the juvenile home at Nittoor, Udupi.

They are being questioned. Bunder station head constable, Ganesh Kamath, along with two other women constables, was checking vehicles near the New Chitra Junction here when the pillion rider of a scooter approached him, hit him once with a sword and escaped in the waiting scooter. A case in this respect was reregistered at Kadri police station.

Ganesh Kamath, who was on duty near New Chithra junction, received injuries on his hand and was immediately taken to hospital. He is stated to be out of danger. He is a head constable attached to Mangaluru North Police Station. The assailant came on a bike and fled the spot soon after the attack the reason behind which was not known, police said. A case had been registered and a search was on for the assailant, they added.
