Mandatory harvest of all snagged paddlefish is required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On these days, all paddlefish caught must be kept and tagged immediately. All paddlefish snagged and tagged must be removed from the river by 7 p.m. each snagging day. Any fish left at the confluence fish cleaning caviar operation after 8 p.m. the day they were snagged will be considered abandoned, and the snagger is subject to a fine.
Snag-and-release of all paddlefish is required on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. Participants during snag-and-release-only days need to have in their possession a current season, unused paddlefish snagging tag.

MARQUETTE From snowshoeing and fire starting to wilderness survival, turkey hunting and fly fishing, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Becoming an Outdoors Woman program is offering several educational experiences over the next several weeks.
The DNR’s BOW program gives women, 18 and older, an opportunity to improve their outdoors skills in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere.
Typically, a BOW winter weekend event is held in February and a summer session is staged in June. This year, the DNR was forced to cancel the February session given coronavirus restrictions. A decision on the summer program will be made in the weeks to come.

Outdoor News, Inc. Partners with Minnesota DNR on Youth Offer
(Plymouth, Minn.) Outdoor News, Inc., publisher of locally written fishing and hunting outdoor newspapers in seven Great Lake states, has partnered with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to provide a free subscription for 11- to 17-year-olds who have completed a firearms safety hunter education class in 2021.
This is the eighth consecutive year the partnership has promoted the offer for youth to receive a three-month junior subscription to Minnesota Outdoor News upon successful completion of the DNR-sponsored classes.
