With house prices on the rise, Queensland is in the midst of the kind of real estate boom that hasnât been seen in years.
CoreLogic Head of Research, Eliza Owen, said the nearly unprecedented surge in values had been driven by multiple factors.
âDemand has been particularly strong across the house segment, where quarterly growth in Brisbane house values (6.2 per cent) was more than double that of unit value increases (3 per cent),ââ Ms Owen said.

A Queenslander home on Brisbaneâs southside had âshin-heightâ flash flooding on Wednesday evening after a short but intense storm swept across the stateâs south-east.
Within 20 minutes of the first drops falling, a Yeerongpilly home had water lapping at the wheels of the cars parked in the driveway, with one of the residents describing it as âa river under my houseâ.

A man who murdered his ex-wife s new partner by stabbing him 86 times after using an axe to break into their house has been jailed for life.
Osmond Roy Greig, 43, pleaded guilty to murder in a Brisbane court on Tuesday over the fatal 2016 attack on Daryl Corcoran.
Greig used the axe to break a window to get into the home at Alexandra Hills, southeast of Brisbane, about 11.25pm on November 22, 2016.
His ex-wife, Mr Corcoran and three children were asleep in the house at the time.
Mayor Ras Baraka announces new two-year pilot program for Newarkers
Mayor Ras J. Baraka today (Monday) launched the Newark Movement for Economic Equity, a two-year pilot program that will give a guaranteed income of six thousand dollars a year in unconditional cash payments, to Newark residents.
Newark’s pilot will be one of the nation’s largest in collaboration with Mayors for a Guaranteed Income.
