(Ryan Thrower Photo) When Kaytlyn Gerbin moved to Seattle 10 years ago to attend graduate school at the University of Washington, a friend took her to Kerry Park in the Queen Anne neighborhood on her first visit. The celebrated viewpoint offered Gerbin a glimpse of Mount Rainier that ignited an ongoing passion.

A cold front pulling through Saturday will shake up our weather! -Emily April 9, 2021 7:37 PM Emily Blume Pleasant and nice conditions for our Friday but as we move into the weekend that’s all changing. A cold front pulling through overnight brings with it high winds, rain, and potentially some light snow (no accumulation). Late season travel conditions through the Cascade Crest and Lookout Pass, along with patchy blowing dust through the Basin. A hard freeze is expected Sunday morning so if you’ve started the garden, you’ll want to cover up those plants. Snow quickly melts in Spokane area after snarling morning commute Snowfall on Thursday morning quickly led to problems on the roads throughout the Spokane area, with multiple crashes and slide-offs reported. Snow is quickly melting in the Spokane area on Thursday after arriving just in time for the morning commute, snarling traffic on I-90 and other roads in the area.   Winter Weather Advisories have expired for Spokane, Coeur d Alene, Sandpoint and Pullman, but an advisory remains in effect for Wallace, Idaho. Many areas in Spokane County picked up about two inches of snow, according to snowfall reports from the National Weather Service, while areas of North Idaho saw between four to five inches of snow.
