Unnao Survivor s Statement Says She Was Poisoned, No Sexual Assault Attempt: Police
The police have arrested two persons, a minor and a 28-year-old, who allegedly mixed poison in water and offered it to the three minor girls.

New Delhi: The 17-year-old girl who had survived an alleged attempt on her life at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district said in her statement recorded before a magistrate on Tuesday that she was poisoned and denied there was any attempt to sexually assault her.

Unnao (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 19 (ANI): Two persons, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the case where three girls were found unconscious in an agricultural field in Unnao s Asoha, out of which two have died and the third girl is battling for her life in a Kanpur hospital.
Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday said that one of the arrested identified as Vinay alias Lambu in his confession said that he had fallen in love with one of the girls and offered her water laced with pesticides after she rejected his advances.

Unnao (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 18 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday registered an FIR based on the complaint of family members of two girls who were found dead in an agricultural field in Unnao s Asoha. An FIR has been registered on the basis of the information given by the family members. Prima facie reveals symptoms of poisoning, there are no signs of any assault on the bodies. The viscera have been preserved for analysis, Inspector-General, Lucknow Range, Laxmi Singh said.
Three minor girls were found lying by villagers in a field in Asoha on Wednesday when they did not return after they left home to collect fodder for the cattle. While two were declared brought dead at the hospital, the third girl is in a critical condition and is currently being treated at a hospital in Kanpur.
