A feud between two families led to a shootout that started at a Dollar General on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, according to police. Kenner Police were called out the Dollar General on Veterans near Loyola Drive around 5:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting in the parking lot. Soon after, police were called out to a shooting two blocks away on Fayette Street where they found and armed man and an armed woman standing in the street.

Brockport lift bridge reopens to traffic

Created: May 10, 2021 01:23 PM BROCKPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) A Brockport lift bridge is back open to traffic. According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the bridge connecting Fayette Street and Park Avenue is now reopened. Crews had been working on the flooring system to increase weight limits on the bridge. Sidewalks are still closed but the DOT says it is expected to reopen in the next few weeks. Park Ave/Fayette Rd Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal in #Brockport recently re-opened to vehicular traffic following repairs to the flooring system to increase weight limits on the bridge. Photo by Angela Shepherd A pedestrian bridge on the west end of Greenfield has been discussed over the last couple years, but now instead of it being a matter of how to make it happen, it’s a matter of when it will happen since a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation will make it possible. There is currently no way to cross a small creek beyond the Greenfield Branch Library and Greenhills Village Apartments without walking across a narrow vehicle bridge. It is a dangerous, but despite the lack of pedestrian-friendly places to walk or bike, there tends to be a good bit of foot and bicycle traffic in the area. Additionally, the foot and bike traffic will likely be compounded after Highland County Community Action recently opened
