Your Voice Can Be Heard About Redrawing State Voting Districts

Now that the recent US census is complete, the US Constitution requires that all states redraw both congressional and state legislative districts. The census data show that Massachusetts has not lost population, although there have been internal shifts.
Case in point: it has been reported recently that the Cape has lost 3 percent of its population over the last 10 years. As the Constitution requires that all congressional districts within a state be about the same size, our congressional district (9), will need to expand a bit more.
If you have something to say about redrawing congressional and state legislative districts for Cape Cod, your voice can definitely be heard. For example, are you concerned about minority representation? School or sewage districts? Watersheds? Coordinated delivery of healthcare? Whatever your concern, your voice would be welcome at the hearing for our district. You do not need any “credentials.” You can represent yourself or a group.
