Article content The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic altered the fabric of everything in Edmonton this year but it’s not the story that sticks with me the most — it’s photographing a night where a community gathered to remember 13-year-old Sierra Chalifoux-Thompson. More than one hundred supporters surrounded her mother Angela Chalifoux as they carried candles and wore purple and white ribbons in memory of a girl taken much, much too early. To the sound of drums, they walked from the Sands Hotel to the site of Sierra’s fatal assault at 75 Street and Mount Lawn Road. We apologize, but this video has failed to load.
