process with jury selection defendant edward archer's attorney is still trying to claim that his client is not fit to stand trial. it got off to little bit after shaky start earlier this week, when the jurors were actually in the room and 32 year old archer apparently started telling the judge that his attorney does not represent him. this was while, again, potential jurors were in the courtroom. and archer's attorney said that that is proof that his client should not stand trial in a 2016 case of attempted murder of philadelphia police officer, jesse hartnett. surveillance video from the night of the shooting allegedly shows archer opening fire on officer hartnett with a stolen police firearm as the officer drove through an intersection. police commissioner richard ross told us then that archer fired 11 shots from the stolen 9-millimeter handgun at close range hitting officer hartnett three times in the arm. fellow officers held multible benefits for their wounded brother, as he underwent several surgeries. and spent a couple of weeks in the hospital before returning to work. and at the time the defendant said that he committed that shooting, in the name of islam, so we are expected a large presence of philadelphia police officers to be here at the cjc later this morning for the start of this trial. karen? >> oh, without a doubt. jenny, thank you so much. 5:04. developing right now, we had a shooting in the middle of center city last night. really busy area. one person was hit. it happened right in front of the wendy's over at 15th and chestnut street. police say there was a gunman who fired off six shots before running away. there was a 24 year old man shot in the wrist. he ran three blocks to the apple store at 16th and walnut where he flacked down a police officer who returned him to the hospital. >> he's only hit one time in the wrist. and there were six shots fired. so we're really not certain at this time whether or not he was the intended target. because the victim himself is state that he heard gunshots, hen realized he was shot. and we were asking him additional questions, and at this time he's being somewhat uncooperative. >> so, obviously, that's an area where there is a lot of surveillance cameras there, combing through them, hoping to find more information about a suspect. police have made arrest overnight in the attempted arson that happened in hunting park. at a home on the 1600 block of bristol street. this was just about midnight. according to police, this was domestic related. the good news is that there were no injuries reported. in atlantic county, police feature help to find robber who is on the run. guy robbed wells fargo bank, on the west white horse pike in galloway township yesterday afternoon. the teller says he handed her a note, and then took off with some money. he's in his late 20's, maybe early 30's, about 5-foot nine. see him in the black hood i right there. also has gray sweat parts on. >> in burlington county, a brave homeowner foils a burglary and then get a picture of the get-away car. there it is. so, he stopped two intruders breaking into his home in mt. laurel in the middle of the day on friday. if you have any idea who drives that car, please call the mt. laurel police. >> and in cumberland county, police need your help to find a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 77 year old woman. see the vehicles in the back of that flatbed? that is the vehicle involved. they've just released the pictures, that's the pick-up truck that is being towed away from the crash scene. in morristown ship friday. the intersection of highway 47 and broadway street. >> we've got search continuing in chester county for pair every would be shoplifters who pepper sprayed a macy's security guard at the exton square mall. so the police in west whiteland say that's the suspect right there, one of them, two guys came in, they were getting all of this merchandise, shoving it into a shopping bag, at the exton square mall. and then they walk out without paying for any of those items in the bag. so when the security guard confronted them, they whipped out pepper spray and shot it at the woman. they dropped their bag, took off, inside the bag about $900 worth of merchandise that macy's officer is expected to recover. >> and police in bucks county are hoping maybe some surveillance pictures can lead them to arrest in a skimming scheme. they've really good pictures from the atm itself. that guy right there, put one of those deep insert cards
