miles per hour. here's the setup. the jet stream has really dipped and so most of the northeast mid atlantic area has been under that deep freeze for quite some time. here's the good news. this jet stream is going to lift that cold air push back up north and then we'll stream in some warmth relatively speaking it will feel much much warmer as we head into the midweek and later parts of our work week. and just what kind of warmup are we talking about? look at this much this is your afternoon high over the next few days. sunday, tomorrow, still going to be a cold one. we're still dealing with that cold temperatures into the low 20s if that staying in the tee teens. but monday here's that jump to the mid 30s. tuesday we're in the 40s. wednesday staying in the 40s. if you can believe it past this look we're talking near 50 even 60 degrees. i know everyone is excited for that. but before we get to that we have to talk about the chance for some wintry weather as we head into the new work week for tomorrow things stay quite increase in cloud cover. and then monday we start off quiet, just expecting a little bit of cloud cover to build in by the afternoon into the lehigh valley and areas north and west of philadelphia could see some snow beginning around 3:00, 4:0. a bit of a wintry mix in areas south like in chester and lancaster. and then this starts to move out. we'll call it scattered activity as we head into the evening and then overnight this is actually rain from atlantic city, cape may all the way down into dover. then we dry things out as we head into tuesday and wednesday. and that's when we'll really get to enjoy that warmth but tonig tonight, we're talking potential record lows. here are the records four in philadelphia. set in 2014. forecast negative one and that's the same for a lot of areas like reading, atlantic city, going into the negatives while the reporter is actually in the positives. so it does look like we could beat a lot of those records overnight tonight. so it's going to be a brutally cold one with those wind chills in the negative teens. 20 degrees is your high for tomorrow. we've got increasing cloud cover but most of us staying dry. and then monday later in the afternoon, that's when we could see some of that mix, snow, ra rain, wintery mix. as we head into our monday night into early tuesday. then temperatures really start to rise. look at this guys. 40 on wednesday. 50 on thursday. 56 on friday. we are seeing some rain then. but i'm liking this thaw out i know a lot of areas could use a thaw out. guys? >> oh, certainly
