southbound, bartrum, can't see it, but this guy actually spun around. you can kind of see the white car here. so again, even though the roads are wet, look at the temp, 28. anything that's wet has potential of being slippery, one of the tricky morning rush hours, not enough snow to actually force you to wow we have to slow it down, but just enough to mess it up. live look, county line road. great example of the neighborhoods, coming in from the suburbs, where again, some of the brine areas are wet. but again, 28 degrees there is could be slippery, and of course, the slush automatically is going to make things slippery when trying to make the left or right turns. one left over work crew, the blue route, southbound at the schuylkill expressway. it looks like an accident. but it is not. it is all of the construction guys down to only one lane on that ramp there, reduced speeds on all of the area bridges, this morning. the overnight construction was canceled on the schuylkill, here is a example of the schuylkill, again, wet, but watch it when you get to the bottom of any of the on or off ramps, may not have been treated in the same main or that the major travel lanes were treated. south jersey for the shaders, good shape, again, not as much snow on the jersey side. roads are just wet. but the driveways, steps, will be slippery as we kick it all off. karen, thomas, back to you. >> good reminder, we are below freezing this winter blast snowfall all across the delaware valley overnight. here's what's left of the flurries, penn's landing river rink, beautiful site there. bob mentioned it, not whole lot of snow just coating here. scott mentioned it, as well, but certainly those side roads can make for very messy morning commute. >> let's go to delco right now, upper darby good morning to you, looking at some of the parking lots, some of the busy intersections right there. people obviously taking precautions, i was taking my own, as well, people filling up on gas, always good advice. >> taking it slow this morning, as for jersey commuters, snow plows were working the roadways all across the sidewalks. this arctic blast, it is expected to stick around a bit. so keep the hats and gloves nearby. >> all right, move over. the cow was sick of being in the nativity scene, made a run for it, and wound up on the highway on i-95. can you imagine, driving down and like hey, bob, look at that, no it is a cow. no, it is a cow. no bull, yep, i59 near callowhill, they obviously coraled at cow and brought it back to one of my favorite locations, united church of old christ where they have the nativity scene. >> so what's the plan here? >> even if you're not seeing snowflakes or the occasional cow on the roadway, certainly feeling the bitter cold temperatures this morning. >> jenny joyce is out there in the thick of it, handling it all for us, good morning to you, jen. >> i good morning, guys, and i feel for that cow. it is very, very coal out here. we know temperatures in the 20's, we do have some snow. live here along bridge street, the main drag, in phoenixville. i would say here we got about an inch, inch and a half. if you take a look at the roadways, roadways are clear, but they are wet. with temperatures in the 20's, we know that we have to be a little bit more careful. but, i will say, that our drive out here to phoenixville was pretty good. we took 76, i know bob kelly was talking about the crews out overnight. they did do a great job. the roads did not feel slick. they felt pretty good. so, if we take a look down the side, and you can see, any cars that were park here overnight are still snow covered, and a coating of snow here on the ground. it is hard to say. i know we're not really anticipating many schools being closed, there could be some delayed openings, i did check phoenixville facebook page, something interesting. they didn't post anything about today. but yesterday, they were adding buses, to pick up the student who typically walk to school to the middle and high school. because it is so cold. they were adding buses for those student. so, it will be interesting to see what they decide to do today. most locations, light snow north and west, but nothing real heavy, not anticipating any major additional accumulations. north and west, looking at some of the light snow, and also moved towards the western and central part of the state. >> this will continue to push through over the early morning hours, and be out of here, by, say, 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. by 6:00 a.m., moles of the light snow still north and west toward the lehigh valley, sections of the poconos, but allow some extra travel time out there, some icy patches, some slick roadways, but we will see some sunshine later on in the day. still winter weather advisory posted for much of the area. i-95 north and west, for those slick spots, few additional light flurries maybe an additional coating but once again, most of the accumulation has already occurred while most of you were asleep. 30 degrees now in philadelphia, 35 millville, 20's once you move toward places like reading, allentown, 23 degrees, 14 right now in the poconos, and you factor in the wind, not as brutal as what we whether dealing with yesterday with those windchills it, feels like 30 degrees in philadelphia, and it feels like 16 degrees in allentown. yesterday at this time remember feels like temperatures were in the single digits. so looking at the forecast, early flurries, for the lehigh valley. 42 degrees down the shore, early slick roads in and around center city. high temperatures today into the upper 30's. that weather authority seven day forecast showing you 39 degrees for today. temperatures tonight, dip back into the low 20's. for week. >> get martha reeves on the phone, loves like a heatwave. >> looks pretty looking out the window, but that's about it, here are examples every major roadways, here is 95, cottman avenue, police here, the northbound side, combination of snow covered in the neighborhood, to wet and slippery, once you get to the major roadways. here is a live look, montgomery county checking in, q the plow train, you got watt with a in the background there, this is route 63 great example what we are dealing, with maybe the travel lanes are wet, but the turns lane or the shoulders are all still slush covered kids will have to do a jump over the slush to get to the school bus this is morning, live look,. >> looking close, still flurries, the reading interchange of the pennsylvania turnpike. let's jump into loud 202, again, i just saw plow train kind of go through. so the crews still out there. not so much real a plowable snow, it is more of salt, brine, letting the cars and volume do the work. but live look down the shore, ocean sit, probably saying what snow? no problems at all working your way up and over the causeway bridge in and out every ocean city on all of the buses, trains, and trolleys this morning, be careful. expect some delays. everything is not going to run as smooth as it normally does. again, the platforms and those metal steps are going to be slippery. so keep that this morning, of course our eyes on the radar after the delaware valley's second round of snow this morning. >> stepping on outside, taking a look at montgomery county, my backyard, you can see i have kids there, heck of a mess, getting in my vehicle right before i cleared it off. i couldn't find the scraper. so grab your scraper, put it out there, before you head out, then i think the cute part, you get to see the little animal prints when i look down, i saw little bunny hopping across the yard. >> see, that's when you wake up with three boys in the morning to scrape off the snow? your car? >> sometimes my husband will. there are the bunny pens. >> little rabbits running around this morning, coming right back. stay with us. >> good morning, i got my scraper. come on, the one thing you want to do. get that snow off the car before you roll. here is a live look at route 309 southbound, a spin-out here at norristown. may look wet. but the roads are slippery. we will check the jam cams, and scotty as got the forecast. but first we check your lottery numbers. good morning on a thursday. blank >> right now on good day philadelphia, from delaware county, montgomery county it, camden county, down the shore, south philly, all over the greater philadelphia valley, we've got you covered. >> the bitter blast certainly didn't spare anyone. scott will have the latest look at your radar, bob will tell us what we can expect on the roadways here at 4:30 a.m. i tell you what, it is certainly colds outside along with the snow. >> it is g things off here. >> my car's outside. >> sure, how much are you paying me? >> that's dust, you're getting dust, not snow. >> it is like steve keeley always say how you're supposed to clear off the whole car, able ' the bad person, roll down the window,. >> are you the 1 billion little donut on the windshield? >> i had the wipers on. >> i'm going outside. >> and you have the snow blowing. >> exactly. >> at least we didn't get that much snow. not that big after problem. >> so have those ice scraper handy. light powdery fluffy snow. temperatures so cold yesterday, not whole lot of moisture in the atmosphere. so dry powdery snow. live look there, around penn's landing, showing you that coating that we have across part of the area. many folks waking up to one to 2 inches of that snow in the delaware valley. 30 degrees right now in philadelphia. but look at the wind, it is calm, so the feels-like temperature, the same as the air temperature. remember, yesterday morning at this time, feels like temperatures were in the single digit. so, ultimate doppler showing you moist of that snow fell overnight. we still have some light snow north and west, berks county, moving into sections of the lehigh valley, and the poconos, so there might be an additional coating, but most of that accumulating snow fell overnight. so as we expand the view, you can see some of the light snow, some flurries, off to the north and west. most of that will kind of rotate through over the next three hours or so. we still have those winter weather advisory in purple, that does include portions of interior south jersey, the i95 corridor, north and west, right now, it is up until 10:00 a.m. that could be allowed to expire a little early on this thursday morning. 14 degrees right now mount pocono. we have 24 in pottstown, 35 degrees in millville. and 38, look at that, in wildwood. and the winds, relatively light to calm, across parts of the area on this thursday morning. so, what to expect, some slick roads, some icy patches, bob will talk much more about that, few additional light flurries, maybe an additional coating be but most of the accumulation has already occurred. we go hour by hour, north and west, 5:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., still looking at some of the light snow, some of the flurries, minute wheels through, but then we break out into the sunshine later on today. so, temperatures, topping out in the upper 30's, philadelphia, low 40's in millville, wildwood, low 30's, once you move north and west. good morning, bob. >> hey, scotty good morning, everybody, 4:33, you're right, that light fluffy snow, so make sure to take a moment, use the scraper, more so the brush, the broom, get all of the snow and leave it in your driveway, or on the sidewalk in your parking spot. the roadways, mainly the major roadways, are wet. penndot put down the brine, all of the dot's new jersey, delaware, put down the brine solution. here is a live look though an accident, south on 309, again, look at this guy, spun around, and kissing the concrete barrier. that's like the third accident, same scenario we've seen. one car, spin-out. so don't get over confident. respect what mother nature is dealing with, as this morning, if it looks wet it, could be slippery. you know, the plow trains, and, you know, were out there last night, and some of the right or left lanes could still have some of the slush in there. here is a live look, 95 out of northeast philadelphia, not bad at all, careful on the construction zones, because you're going to have, you know, no shoulder for any of the slush to accumulate on. here you go. coming in from south jersey, so slower than normal speeds, everywhere this morning, hello montgomery county. county line road great example whatever we're dealing with here this morning, a combination of the wet roads, the slushy turning lanes, and then of course your kids will have to jump across some of the slush to get from the sidewalk to the front step of their school bus this morning. reduced speeds across all of our area bridges this morning, and expect delays on the bus respect trains, trolleys, comes without saying, things will be little slower than normal. just be careful, too, on all of the platforms and as you try to board and exit the buses and trains things could be slippery karen, thomas, back to you. >> let's take live look outside of the ben franklin parkway. look at the bottom right. just drop the words across the bottom. we call that the super in it. v time. see down by the basilica, a lot of shove letters out there doing the sidewalks, people will be busy up early this morning to get those sidewalks cleared off and our roads. so, it is also dangerously cold as they work. >> looking at the area bridges as well, early morning looking at the cock dom barry bridge coming out of new jersey this morning, what you are actually seeing this morning, this is in gloucester county, this is in woolwich township, you see some of the side roads, certainly more snow covered. this is going toward 295, so if you're out there this morning, certainly be careful on the side roads. restrictions on the bridges down to 35 miles per hour. >> it is not just jersey dealing with dangerous road conditions this morning. >> yes, let's bounce over to chester county, phoenixville area, actually where i grew up there, i thought i saw something falling behind your bed there, jenny, good morning to you. a drop in the tree in the backgrounds? >> good morning, karen, i didn't know that you grew up here. that is beautiful area. i have some good news for you. it will stay beautiful. you really shouldn't have too many issues on the roadways. taking a look here, this is one of the back road. we're live off of emelia street off route 29. where you can see the road is really clear. so what we have right now is just some really pretty scenery. we have some light flurries falling, live in front of saint michael's church. we came over to this area because i did see a tweet. somebody was concerned about route 29. i know one of the photographers, greg gill roy, he lives in this area, he said his ride into work early this morning, was not very good. so, we have that good news to report that conditions have definitely improved out here. somebody was concerned about route 29 near black rock road. because there is a big hill. and you can see, there are some hills back in this portion of phoenixville, but, they're all clear now. so your ride to work this morning should be pretty good. we know a lot of main roadways were treated overnight, they're in good shape, route 76 looks good. you just have to be careful, again, it is cold out here. so that's one of the other concerns. bundle the kids up for school this morning. karen, thomas? >>
