>> reporter: yeah, high school football as we all know can provoke some strong emotions some and hot temperatures but what happened here friday night, well, it goes well beyond trash talk. this was racial hate tread in verbal form. many of the quakertown high students leaving school monday afternoon walk past a yard sign that reads, hate has no home here. but what happened friday night just across the street at alumni field makes you wonder. it has quakertown parents shaking their heads. >> it's not right. you just keep your opinions to yourself and then i mean everybody has a right to their opinions but when they're doing that kind of stuff that's just embarrassing and shouldn't be said. >> reporter: as cheltenham high school football team arrived at quakertown for friday night game witnesses told officials from both schools that some quakertown fans began to throw rocks at the cheltenham bus. proceeded that with a barrage of vile language. doctors wagner, is cheltenham school superintendent. >> our cheerleaders members of our band, um, were insulted using racial terms. the most divisive racial terms you can use. >> the n word was used. >> n word. >> you see this venue. that was packed with thousands of people on friday night and we were having a great time. >> and then this. >> then this. the superintendent dr. william hair they are is ironically a cheltenham grad. he says dozen middle school students were interviewed and two, eighth graders were found to have engage in the rock throwing and racial slurs. both will be punish. >> my heart is broken. fortunately it's just a few children, and i say children, um, middle school students but they embarrassed me and they embarrassed the school board, and our community. >> reporter: both superintendents told me they'd like to turn this into teaching moment. they'd like to get the perpetrators and the targets of that friday night incident in the same room together under adult supervision to talk about what happened and why it should never happen again. lucy? >> all right. hopefully it will be a lesson learned. thank you much, bruce. nearly eight months after her murder, police say they have finally arrested a person for the death of winnie harris the 65-year-old community activist died in her west philadelphia home in february. investigators say police had already arrested the suspect for an unrelated charge in delaware county. they have yet to release the person's name. one man is dead. another is in critical conditi condition. police found both shot in the head in a car in north philadelphia yesterday. someone called the police to the seep on the 2400 block of arlington street when they got there, they found two men in a blue mercury grand marquis. investigators believe whoever did it walk up to the driver's side window and started firing. one of the men died there. the other is now at temple university hospital. it's october which means pumpkins are everywhere includ including in your beer and in your coffee but if you're in langhorne, pennsylvania, you're just hope to go not find pumpkin on your car. because police are searching for someone who has been smashing them on war windows and windshield. someone stole six pumpkins from the front porches of two homes one on flint road the other on valley view road that same night authorities say someone smashed pumpkins on to three cars in the langhorne area damaging the vehicles. ineffective, misspelled and now gone. that's the status of signs on a philadelphia school district building in grays ferry. fox 29 report last week showed trash piled up on the 1600 block of bambry. next door to district facility building. several signs warning that illegal dumpers would be subject to video surveil. not only were the signs ignored the word surveillance was misspell. the block was cleaned up and the signs have now been taken down. that juan is gone. >> to your fox 29 weather authority. here's live look at rehoboth beach, delaware. muggy last couple of days. >> i know, right. actually kind of tropical out, iain. doesn't it feel tropical out? philadelphia police need your help locating 72-year-old george ran hudson last seen saturday in his home on the 7200 block of north 20th street and police are concerned for his safety because of some health issues. mr. hudson is 54 and was last seen wearing a button shirt, jeans and slippers. it's been more than a week since the las vegas massacre that killed 59 people and injured hundreds more. we are taking a look back at what's happened since the atta attack. wildfires are raging in california. that includes wine country. homes are burning with tens of thousands of people packing up and gettin getting out before te accident too late. ♪ >> it's been one week since the deadliest shooting in modern u.s. history. last sunday, stephen paddock opened fire on crowd of people at a concert in las vegas killing 58 people and after countless hours of investigating authorities are still trying to figure out why. fox's kelly wright has more. >> reporter: the las vegas strip went dark late sunday night honoring the many victims last week's shooting. lights at dozens of resorts and casinos were dimmed for 11 minutes. the same amount of time that gunfire rained down on the rout. it was one of several tributes held in the area this weekend. vice-president mike pence on saturday spoke to a crowd atlas vegas city hall. praising the first responders as heroes who keep us all going. >> we do more than with those who mourn and grieve with those who grieve. but we do not grieve like those who have no hope, because heroes give us hope.
