thanks for being with us. i'm rosemary connors. >> i'm dray clark. rosemary mentioned a moment ago, we're in store for a couple of great days weather wywise. i think i'll wear my jimmy buffett outfit on wednesday. what's it going to be like neighborhood by neighborhood this coming week, krystal? >> it's going to be so much nicer than last night with the snowstorm moving through. that thing is out of here. we've got a clear picture over our region. the grayish color you see overlaying, that's the satellite imagery and the clouds that sit to the west of us. sunny to mostly sunny conditions. check it out. if we go wide, there's what's left of the snowstorm. we're dealing with the clear conditions now. high pressure is building over the region. that's going to bump temperatures up and keep us without precip in the forecast today. here are the numbers. now at almost 40 degrees in philadelphia. we're at 40 in dover, northeast philly. 41 atlantic city. allentown and reading are getting there. upper 30s now. it's going to help melting off that snow from last night. what's next? well, it's sun and melting for today. grab the sunglasses before you head out the door. it's going to be a sunny one throughout. then record warmth in the days to come. no joke. we're looking at nearly 80 degrees in spots in just a few days. 180 from the snowstorm. but the rainy pattern continues. we've got more chances of rain on the ten-day on 10. i'll go over that with you in a few minutes. >> now back to the breaking news we've been following. under control and no injuries. that's the good news after this fire that burned for hours in philadelphia's old city neighborhood. the damage is done, though. dozens of people are out of their homes this morning. >> randy gyllenhaal is live at the scene at third and chestnuts streets with a look at the investigation just giting under way. randy, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. they did officially declare this fire under control. but that does not mean the fight is over. crews have been on scene for hours. this is 239 chestnut street. that's where the fire started. building appears to be a total loss. the apartments above it appear to be burnt to a crisp. if we pan over to the right, you will see philly fire crews working on the neighboring building, 237 chestnut. smoke out of the windows there it's right across from the museum of the american revolution. it's a block that has a number of bars, restaurants, apartments above, a best western hotel. the hotel had a number of guests inside who had to evacuate after smelling smoke, hearing sirens. people in the buildings, also forced out of their homes on to the cold street below. we've been catching up with evacuees who right now don't have a place to go. a lot of them standing around watching, hoping that the belongings inside their house are okay. take a listen. >> red cross came in. the neighborhood opened up to the people in the hotel. couldn't be better. couldn't be better. >> a bar opened up for us. so the people that were out and we stayed there. like i said, the red cross came and got blankets and food. they were very helpful. it was very nice. >> reporter: a number of those evacuees are actually being housed inside the museum of the american revolution and we should note the museum just announced they will be closed for the day. we've actually seen tourists coming up to go inside with a scheduled visit. they won't be allowed in because the museum is closed. there are a number of road closures up and down second and third street because of this fire investigation. that will likely be happening for the next few hours. the good news, right now, officials say no injuries to report. fire investigators still need to go into every apartment and make sure nobody was left behind. i'm randyville en ha gyllenhaal news. a woman was killed in her -- after a fire in her home. firefighters responded last night. it took crews about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control. the victim unfortunately, died at the scene. two firefighters were hurt but they're going to be okay. investigators now looking for the cause of this fire. new this morning, workers at a wawa are a little shaken, but they're okay following an armed robbery. here's what we know. the robbers went into the store and brandished semiautomatic guns. they didn't fire any shots. the robbers are still on the loose this morning. talk about our weather. by and large, no problems to report. we caught this video on the schuylkill expressway. tree branches fell on to the road last night around 11:00. no cars damage but traffic had to slow down to get around this mess. it took crews an hour and a half to completely clear this scene. good news for anybody heading out and about. temperatures climbing and getting slushy out there. >> pamela osborne is live where some of the heaviest snow fell in the lehigh valley. good morning, pam. >> reporter: good morning. i'm a victim of the snowmelt coming down from the trees. we're standing in several inches of snow here in south white hall. not everybody is cleaning up this morning. as we mentioned, the temperatures are warming up. it's a perfect day to do a little four-wheeling. take a look. we found these kids out here playing, enjoying the warm temperatures and this fresh, fluffy snow that fell overnight. not causing a lot of issues on the roadway. although he's stuck and having trouble getting out. crews up and down streets in allentown. south white hall. all morning long. you can look at the pavement here. you can see things are pretty clear on the roadway. the only issue is that they're a little bit wet. the curb of the streets, there is a little bit more snow piled up there because the plows have gone through. again, not causing any major issues on the roadway this morning. just a little bit of stuff to clean up after. if you don't have to clean up, a little bit of stuff to have fun in afternoon and evening. mostly this will start to melt. which means, wet roads as well today. otherwise, it's about the warmup. mid to upper 40s this afternoon. that's going to continue to help melt the snow off. you may have wet roads throughout the day. but hey, grab the sunglasses. a sunny forecast regardless of where you are. going through the planner. in philadelphia, 43 degrees and sunny. up to 46 at 4:00 p.m. officially forecasting the high of 48 degrees today. a little warmer than average for this time of year. in the suburbs, 43 at 4:00 p.m. about the same in the lehigh valley. for delaware, looking at 43 lunch. 45 at 4:00 p.m. 44 in new jersey and by 8:00 at night, down to 37 degrees. jersey shore today, mid-40s. that's just the start. a bigger warmup ahead. we'll talk about it after 10:00 on this sunday. here's an update on that breaking news we've been following out of philadelphia's old city neighborhood. the fire here that gutted a building was a business on the first floor and apartments above. crews will be there for hours putting out hotspots. the american red cross are also on the scene helping the people evacuated. we're talking residents of the apartments, plus guests at a hotel next door. the museum of the american revolution, right across the street here at third and chestnut streets, is closed for the day because of all the activity in the area. they had activities planned for presidents' day, a breakfast with washington. if you have tickets to that event, the museum will refund them. i'm meteorologist krystal klei. we're starting with a live camera view in wilmington, delaware. although it was totally blue skies an hour, hour and a half ago. clouds have built up across the western edge. some clouds are still possible against that western edge this morning. take a look at the temperatures in the delaware neighborhoods. odessa, 39. newark, 37 degrees. middletown in the upper 30s and then we get to the 40s farther south. milton at 42. lewis beach, 44. dewey beach, 42 degrees atz as well. already kind of mild forecast. these numbers will continue to climb into the afternoon hours to mid and upper 40s for highs. there's a look at radar and satellite where you can see the clouds that edged up against the western portion of our viewing zone. you see the rich will effect on the clouds. these won't be rainmakers, just clouds hanging over the region this morning. for the rest of us shall it's a clear, sunny picture through the morning hours. looking at a high of 48 in philadelphia and 45 in the pennsylvania suburbs. you can see the icon, a good bit of sunshine. delaware, 47 later today. southernmost points may be a little warmer than that. what's happening is, we have high pressure building in. high pressure is our friend. it boosts temperatures up. really boosts in the days to come. take a look at the hour-by-hour model. through this afternoon there, the waerm temperatures and dry conditions. we go overnight into your monday morning, if you have to go to work, some of us maybe but others staying home on presidents' day. the winds will shift and we'll drag in a little warmer air. noontime, in the mid to upper 40s and scattered showers will ride by the region. afternoon into evening monday, it's only rain because the temperatures are so warm and then, they just keep going up. in fact, by tuesday, we're talking record temperatures. in philly, a forecast high of 72. that will break the previous record of 70. all right. thank you, krystal. a teenager who survived the high school massacre in south florida is getting a lot of attention on social media after a fiery speech about the need for gun control. >> we know that they're claiming that there are mental health issues and i am not a psychologist, but we need to pay attention to the fact that this isn't just a mental health issue. he wouldn't have hurt that many students with a knife. >> emma gonzalez's speech is trending this morning. she was part of the rally in broward county, florida, yesterday. organizers are calling for what they call a sensible gun safety laws. specifically, they want a ban on assault weapons, background checks at gun shows and a national gun registry. >> i'm here because i'm scared to go to school. i'm here because it happened so close to home and i know so many of the victims. i'm here because enough is enough. >> meanwhile, miles away, 17-year-old joaquin oliver was laid to rest. the high school senior is one of those murdered. there are still 14 more funerals planned for the coming days, including for athletic chris hixon, originally in the poconos. he died protecting students. gun control was on the list of gun owners at philadelphia's gun owners. >> a lot of times we have shootings like this, the immediate reaction is to ban guns. there's millions of law-abiding gun owners in the country. they're not the ones that committed that crime. >> people are mental illness problems, shouldn't be able to have access to a firearm. >> we protect your money at banks with guns. we actually in the prisons, we're protecting prisoners with guns. but our precious children are in gun-free zones. lets start arming the teachers. >> the philadelphia gun show continues today at the national guard armory. gun control, school safety, those will be the topics of discussion on "meet the press" which comes up next on nbc 10. earlier this morning, we asked chuck todd about that very issue. >> we thought after sandy hook with the murder of 20 children and 6 adults, something would change. that hasn't happened. could florida actually be the difference this time? >> you know, it's possible. i'm obviously skeptical. history makes us skeptical. but we have a couple of things that indicate that it's possible. we hit a tipping point. the fact that the students of parkland, the survivors are not just mourning, they're speaking out. they're angry. they're organizing. i'm going to
