well, good friday morning to you. i'm reena ninan. >> i'm phillip mena. we begin with those three fallen firefighters identified killed wednesday battling a wildfire in washington state. >> they were part of an elite group that scouts wildfires ahead of the arrival of larger groups of their colleagues. as the fight against the blaze that took their lives continues they're being honored as heroes. this morning, a somber procession, more than a dozen fire and police vehicles escorting the bodies of three firefighters, 20-year-old some zbyszewski, 26-year-old andrew zajac and 31-year-old richard wheeler dying on the front lines. all killed when their vehicle crashed overtaken by flames in twisp, washington. >> it hurts deep. but the job goes on. >> reporter: another firefighter. 25-year-old daniel lyon suffering critical burns. >> this was his first season as a firefighter. he's the kind of kid that his mother and i and family are so proud of. >> lyon was flown to a hospital his life. washington governor jay insly saying 400,000 acres are burning right now. neal karlinsky is in twisp. >> >> reporter: they're evacuating us out of this area. the flames are coming. they're saying there is a propane tank. we're going to move on. >> reporter: overnight 60 miles from twisp forcing more evacuations. those living in tonasket were forced to evacuate. in california, fires have forced evacuations of fat parks. east of oakland, billowing smoke could be seen for miles and air tankers are being used to help try to contain the blaze. in eastern oregon three dozen homes were destroyed including carolyn hodge's. >> we're going to have to find a place to live for probably a couple of years. >> the three deaths in washington state raises the number of firefighters killed this year across the west to 13. now, some weather. we're keeping an eye on hurricane danny, a tiny storm spinning now nearly a thousand miles east of the windward islands. >> its maximum sustained winds around 80 miles an hour. unclear whether it will affect land. of much more immediate concern powerful storms causing flash flooding north of baltimore. some areas received up to 6 inches of rain and cars getting caught on flooded streets and rescue crews pulled 18 safely from their vehicles. to one injured. accuweather's justin povick has today's forecast. good morning, justin. >> phillip and reena, thanks and good morning to you. on this friday and continuing into the start of the weekend we're concerned about drenching downpours along the interstate 95 corridor. more specifically new york city to hartford to boston where i think there could be flash flooding but to the west we're in good shape with lots of sunshine and also low humidity. now, it's bad news in the northwest. we actually need the rain, and we're concerned about more fire danger. phillip and reena, back to you. >> thank you very much. into politic, the verbal war trump heating up. >> the men exchanging harsh words over the issue of immigration and the leading democrat now responding. abc's kenneth moton is watching it now from washington and he joins us now live. good morning, kenneth. >> reporter: good morning. yeah, busy weekend ahead for the candidates and you better believe neither the donald nor the jeb plan to back down on the immigration talk. a bush and a billionaire, a head-to-head battle over immigration. donald trump who is surging in popularity and expecting to have his largest campaign event tonight is vowing mass deportations of illegal immigrants. >> we're going to get them out so fast and so quick and it's going to be tough. it won't be like will you please come with us. back. >> there should be a little more focus on solving the problems rather than just coming in like a tidal wave and saying things that are just outrageous and don't make sense. >> reporter: the only thing they agree on is the use of the controversial term anchor babies. it's used to describe the american-born children of undocumented immigrants who have them to an authorize them in the u.s. >> people find that hurtful. >> you mean it's not political a correct yet everybody uses it. >> you used the term anchor babies on the radio. >> i don't. >> you don't regret it. >> reporter: two years ago bush sent a letter to chill asking conservatives not to use the offensive term. >> i'll use the word anchor baby. >> reporter: hillary clinton didn't waste any time calling out both men in a new ad. the democrat tweeted a few suggestions, how about babies, children or american citizens. a new quinnipiac university poll says trump is beating clinton and bush in his own state of florida. i should also tell you that trump has moved his alabama pep rally from a small venue to a 40,000-seat venue. >> great expectations. >> kenneth moton live in washington, thank you. breaking overnight a los angeles high-rise rocked by a powerful underground explosion. four people injured. the 19-story building was damaged but the fire was quickly put out. the blast also cut power to the staples center in the middle of a shania twain concert. twain tweeting, we had so much fun in l.a. that we blew the porer out. the show continued within minutes after backup electricity kicked in. no word yet on a cause. a gas explosion at a new york city high school has seriously injured three construction workers. firefighters were still combing through the rubble late last night looking for clues. the fifth and sixth floors of the school were the most seriously damaged. construction crews were working on a gas line in a science lab when the explosion happened. police in los angeles revealing overnight that they gene simmons. police would not discuss the details of the investigation which was being carried out by the lapd's internet crimes against children task force. they say simmons and his family were not the target of the investigation. simmons' wife shannon tweeted we couldn't be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. the los angeles sheriff's department will recommend a vehicular manslaughter charge to be filed against caitlyn jenner. investigators determined jenner was driving too fast at the the time of a deadly chain reaction crash in malibu last february. the former olympian rear ended two cars killing one of the drivers. if she's convicted jenner could face one year in jail. former president jimmy carter has completed the first round of radiation for cancer on his brain. mr. carter revealing the diagnosis during an extraordinary news conference yesterday in atlanta. the former president was philosophical when he first learned that the cancer had spread. >> i just thought i had a few weeks left, but i was surprisingly at ease, you know, i've had a wonderful life.
