ohio governor john kasich pulling 14 percent of the vote. no winner has been declared yet and some counties are still counting. but remember, kentucky isn't a winner take all state... so the delegates will be split up among the candidates. and here in the tri-state... you probably saw a packed house if you went out to the polls. between the turnout, the traffic and the process... reaction was mixed from voters. fox19 now's robert guaderrama joins us live with more. robert... some voters got turned away in the end right? frankie, that's right... as the matter of fact, we were here as the clock struck four this afternoon and watched as people came to cast their vote but found these doors locked. the polling time wasn't the only change that had kentucky voters scratching their heads. a confusing day at the polls for kentucky republican voters. conservatives accustomed to traditional much different process. bobby brown kenton county voter "it took like 20 minutes to get in and like 20 minutes once you're in. one caucus location per county meant longer travel times and longer lines to cast a vote. sabrina vurchio kenton county voter "a little chaotic actually, i've been told by mutliple people today how hectic it was to get in, so i waited to the ending hoping it would die down and boy that was not the case." norm davidson kenton county voter "traffic was backed all the way down this road and half way to fouler creek, which is probably a good two mile line." kenton county caucus chairman shane noem says despite the change, turnout was high. shane noem kenton county caucus chairman "there was a lot of congestion, we had about a thousand people at ten o'clock, so the line wrapped around the building, as we opened the doors it was a bit of a wait at first but we got down to our 15 minute cycle through." paul anglin kenton county voter "long line of people, it kind of looked scary but it went quick." but one boone county voter was concerned the change wasn't communicated thoroughly. boone county voter "i'm afraid it may not have gotten around to as many people as would have liked to have known and would have liked to have voted." and that may explain why so many voters arrived after polls closed.
