This morning the pentagon is under fire accused of underreporting sex crimes in the military. The criticism comes from new york senator kirsten gillibrand. She claims the pentagon refused to give her all the information she asked for regarding sexual assaults at several bases. The democratic lawmaker says the material she did receive shows spouse shows spouses of military men and women are especially vulnerable to being sexually assaulted. And agents with u. S. Customs and border protection, in one case an agent in arizona was indicted for sexually assaulting a a 5yearold child. The gap is not just an indication of health and disparity butle the economic disparity between those two wards. Infant mortality rates are ultimately about poverty according to this Advocacy Group. Weve heard some 911 calls in this incident. Yesterday jurors listened to a tape of james holmes hours after his arrest in july of 2012. Rick salinger reports from the courthouse in centennial, colorado. Reporter jurors saw a videotape of an interview of james holmes by police shortly after the theater shooting. There wasnt any children hurt. Reporter the officer replied he didnt know if any children were hurt. In fact, a 6yearold girl was among those killed. Survivors have been able to testify. Using the model of the theater, this man pointed out where he was shot. The defendant james holmes sat impassively as the witness described what happened. I remember hearing screaming and loud noises. I would imagine a gun. Reporter the jury was shown a photo of the leg that he said was blown apart. He then walked to the jury box and revealed the state of his injuries today. He is one of 70 wounded, 12 were killed that night. The gunmans preparation detailed by witnesses from shooting ranges. According to the associated press, isis is now claiming responsibility for sundays attack outside a contest to draw the Prophet Muhammad in garland, texas. They say the announcement came over an isis radio station. The announcement said to soldiers carried out the attack. It did not provide details. The two suspects were shot and killed after opening fire. Meanwhile a new York Police Officer has died after being shot this weekend. The nypd is now mourning the loss of officer brian moore. Police say he was shot in the head by a man with an extensive criminal record. They have a suspect in jail. Prosecutors plan to charge the man with firstdegree murder.
