>> how about that be. >> may have been a very good football player, base and on his most recent moves. we have a new member of the congress coming here to washington right now, that has kind of an adversarial take. >> tonight montana residents are sending a wake up call to washington d.c. establishment. >> reporter: wake up call clear victory for montana businessman turned politician greg mind and locked in their choice. house speaker paul ryan said, gianforte should apologize but he wouldn't oppose results of the election. >> i will let people of montana decide who they want as their representative. that is not our house, that is people of montana who choose that. >> looking at things that were in gianforte's favor, in this race, and yes, there was at salt charge but he was also running in montana that went 20 points for donald trump last year, and he was facing a democratic candidate who went kind of far left at some point even bringing bernie sanders into help him campaign in a state that is generally pretty favorable for republicans. >> wasn't there a huge, you mentioned this a huge absentee vote in, other word, people voted well ahead of the a salt >> reporter: really plays right in the criticism that a lot of people have had for early voting a third of voting in montana had weighed in and locked in their vote. argument is that yes, it is convenient but people don't all the time have all of the complete information at the point that they actually cast that vote. you cannot take it back. >> who would think something like that with happen the night before. >> true. >> coup james comey. that is whole other thing. get ready for hurricane season. as i know, hurricane season starts june 1 and goes through november 30th. it is going to be rough apparently. we are getting an urgent warning from governmental weather forecasters in a normal season there are 12 tropical storms and then, six, that get to the size of a hurricane, six hurricanes per season up to nine hurricanes are being predicted this year. last year hurricane matthew killed 34 people in the united states. >> the most dangerous part of the storm is not the wind, it is not the rain, it is flooding and storm surge that occurs afterward. so we need to be prepared for all of that in the upcoming season. >> on the lighter side i do have a tendency to go to the caribbean every year and i always try to dodge hurricanes as you probably do too but now you have to dodge making nine of them. >> are you going somewhere then. >> i still try to squeeze it in. >> okay. >> there is nothing good about a hurricane, sue but you do have about a 10 day warning when it comes off the coast of africa, you have got that, you know. >> listen to people like sue to let us now. >> national weather service and sue serio. >> we have had seasons where hurricane formed but they didn't all make land fall. >> that is right. >> that is what we have to watch out for which won make land fall and how and then mostly, it will be a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow, mix of sun and cloud, here comes a stray thunderstorm on saturday , and then on sunday, possibility of the stray shower. none of them is a wash out. but you could get a shower. now, early monday morning, and right now, a high of 76. and, holiday weekend, afterward we will warm up to 80 degrees, on tuesday, and it will be back to reality seat and then look at what we got we have the penguins with cry baby crosby in there against our former coach, peter laviolette. why does this happen, alex, why? we get rid of the coach and now, he may win the stanley cup. >> it is the philly curse. >> i think he already has within with carolina. >> for you, not us. >> i think i need an intervention. >> why? >> i'm starting to get very depressed >> is that local. >> it is local. goldman sachs was one of those companies whose illegal activity helped destroy our economy... vo: as a goldman sachs president, phil murphy made his fortune in a rigged system. now the jersey machine has lined up with murphy and his millions. leaders should stand for the people, not the political machine. as a prosecutor, at treasury, and as head of the brennan center, i've taken on the powerful - from the mafia, to the nra, to the dark money that poisons our politics. i'll be nobody's governor but yours. 7:25. it is high school promises on and all either one you will sing between 12 and two when we will be sipping with that extra volume that is when we will see crunch time in the shore for the holiday weekend, mike and alex, back to you. a huge pay out for a woman who who half her body in the salvation army collapse. >> it is largest pay out in state history as a matter of fact. well, let's call it 96 million-dollar. >> maria's award is part of the 227 million-dollar settlement, with survivors and families of those who died, ending a 17 week civil trial for 19 plaintiffs over the building collapse on the salvation army thrift shop at 22nd and market street. we are looking at the plaintiff now. she was buried under ruble for 13 hours. seven people died in the tragedy and 12 others were injured. now we will get to the man we saw right by her side, her attorney andy stern to talk about this victory for her. >> good to see you andy. >> good to see to. >> lets just start, how is she how is her mental state. >> it has been very challenging. i i just get over how remarkable she is what keeps her going is she does have children and they have been able to come to the united states. >> tell us about that where is she from. >> she was born and raised in ukraine, she came to the you had because of family member was in need. didn't forget her children. she was able to send money back to keep them going and get them educated. she worked. she was taking care of an elderly person on the day this collapse happened. fully functional, healthy, normal life, completely independent and happy. trusted salvation army and that is why she went to that store. >> she was a regular. they had to do a guillotine amputation. >> she was buried in the ruble for 13 hours. because of that what happens is there are toxins that get released in the body and she had a bad case of infection so they have to do a amputation where they cannot close right away because of concerns with infection. >> how high up. >> up to and including her hip joints. half her body has been removed it didn't just all happen at one time. it got so bad, it is not easy to hear this but literally one of the ways you can treat that is through use of a maggot because they are very precise in being able to remove infections or dead material. >> how oldies she. >> she's 55 years old. she can live to a normal life expectancy but she will live another 30 years. so at least this will help her to be able to move out of where she is at, to be with her kid, she will need very careful medical monitoring. >> for the rest of her life. >> and she will go in and out of the hospital in, fact she was just back at hup recently for additional problems. >> what was her reaction to the news. >> she was very happy. it is bitter sweet. in a second she would give to be kr as in anyway even talking about money, but it is 96 million-dollar. when would she get it and really how much will she get. >> the way it works is arbitrator has made his decision. liability verdict came back in february. there was a process that went on where he listened to decision, it is binding arbitration and the next step now is to get the release from the defendants, get that signed and then within 20 days of that she gets her money who pay is it. >> i can't get into the details of how that broke down but i can tell how contributed to the settlement and who contributed was salvation army >> okay. >> the stb related defendants, and the others who contributed as well but significant part of the case was jury found salvation army 75 percent responsible. what is interesting, of course , you heard and viewers heard mr. been scott and mr. campbell were convicted. they only found them 1 percent responsible and jurors appreciated it was first time we had a situation where everybody was in the same courtroom where a jury could assess responsibility of everybody as opposed to focusing on gp. >> when it comes to the money, she has had more than 30 surgeries, a lot of money just to pay for her health. >> there is no question, she's owning money, and she will incur, she will incur substantial medical expenses in the future. >> but she will get that money >> there is no question about that. >> soon. >> we have been, my associate and i have been pushing hard to get her, the money. there have been a number of challenges in this process but we hope to have money in her hand in approximately 30 days, that is our goal. >> great. >> good to see you good hard work there on your part. >> thanks, i'll do that. >> 7:39. we will be right back.
