>> reporter: lucy, iain an entire reading neighborhood in mourning tonight over the murder avenue very popular well liked 16 year old boy killed on the very block where he lives. police here in berks county made no arrests to night but they do want to talk with the man they say may have been involved. music thumps through the streets of north reading but the signs on the cars and the candles burning on the sidewalk show this is no celebration. instead, a grim reminder of a life loft. >> always had a smile on his face. always having people joking. >> reporter: family members remembering 16 year old christian torres who died on the sidewalk here on the 1100 block of locust street. it's still unclear how he died, but police think torres was established to death after some sort of fight sunday night that may have started over the victim wearing a scary halloween mask. investigators are now looking for 29-year-old avery val len teen bear described as person of interest in the case. >> always made me laugh. >> report roar torres can't believe his friend is now gone. >> he was a good kid. no problems. always had straight a's. he had a job. he just got a car. went to school. >> reporter: tenth grader reading high school already had a job at mcdonald's and was getting his driver's license. now, his family is preparing for his funeral. >> last person i think it would ever happen to one of the greatest kids on this block. never bothered nobody. never. >> reporter: now initially police had reports that the killer had been wearing a halloween mask from the movie purge. those reports have since been clarified. we can tell you the family of christian torres is now planning a weekend funeral. iain. >> chris, thank you. a scare at the willow grove mall turned out to be a false alarm tonight. police rushed there earlier after getting several calls about a man with a gun in one of the stores. officers say they got there, went over security video and once they found the man it turns out someone thought was a gun and was phone he held behind his back. given the shooting it's no wonder nerves were on open. everything got back to normal fairly quickly. >> on your radar tonight a calm mild night. we might not be able to say that for very much longer. let's check in with meteorologist kathy orr. >> in matter of 24 hours, things are going to change rapidly around here. right now we have a clear sky. it's a beautiful night out there, and temperatures are on the mild side. but we are expecting some rain to be moving on in sooner than later. on ultimate doppler, you can see the clear skies with a rain showers moving offshore, and as they continue to do so, temperatures will be falling back into the 50s and the 60s before the rain moves on in as early as tomorrow night. coming up we'll talk more about that timing the rain and show was we have in store for your weekend more changes ahead. i'll see you later on in the broadcast. >> all right, kathy, thanks. happening now police are looking for a bold aggressive robber he demands the victim's belongings when he tries to run away the bad guy shoots him. that shooter is still on the streets tonight. >> and that has port richmond community very nervous. fox 29's dave schratwieser joins us live now from philadelphia police headquarters. dave? >> reporter: lucy, police say this gun toting bandit not only stalked his victim but he also when he demanded money from him the man started to run, he chased him down from behind, and shot him all of it was caught on camera. and tonight police are searching for suspect. >> first i heard him say no, no new york city. >> ran drew was getting ready to go to his grandson's baseball game sunday morning around 6:30 when he heard a commotion then gunshots right outside his front door on thompson street in port richmond. >> i heard a guy yelling and i heard about four or five pops. then i heard little bit of screaming out. like he was in pain. >> reporter: what he says he heard was the attempted robbery and shooting of a 47-year-old port richmond man caught on camera at the corner of thompson and elkhart. it was barely sunrise when the suspect carrying a gun in his right hand can be seen as he walked up on the victim and announce add robbery. >> makes mention of give me everything you have. something along those lines. >> reporter: victim took off as the gunman chased him. he ran down the 2600 block of elkhart when the gunman opened fire. the muzzle flash clearly visible in the video. >> very brazen individual to be out there that early in the morning. people are going to work. to attempt to rob someone that's not bad enough but shoot the individual as she try to flee from you. >> the shooter jumped into the car driven by someone else and fled leaving the victim bleeding in the street. neighbors say they've seen the victim walking to work or nearby store for coffee in the morning. >> unbelievable. it's a shame with this world is can you remembering to. you hear it all the time in all different neighborhoods much it's real a shame. >> reporter: shooting took place across the street from a playground. police are now trying to dent fight gunman and find the get away car. >> they have get away car already set up. this is probably something they've done before. >> reporter: the victim was treated for gunshot wounds to the legs. police have not said if this is a random or targeted attack at this point. if you recognize this guy, you should contact east detectives. lucy? >> thank you, dave torments night septa paoli thorndale line back up and running following evacuation and delay due to smoke during rush hour this evening officials suspended the rain line after smoke started rising from a train at the overbrook station. step at a officials tell us the train had an issue with a motor and a fire never broke out. no one is injured. police in berks county arrest add teacher they say had an inn appropriate relationship with a student. police say 37-year-old stephanie france lucky send nude photos and video to 17-year-old through twitter. he was a student in her english black at muhlenberg high school. the teacher and student also would kiss after school. lucky admitted to those offenses and resigned last month. she's been charged with unlawful contact with minor and corruption of minors. head of the philadelphia parking authority has been suspended over sexual harassment charges. ppa's board chairman says he'll recommend that vince fenerty be fired when the board meets again on thursday. first case of sexual harassment was made public last week when he was accused of of harassing an employee at the agency. the board chairman says he just learned of new allegations today fenerty harassing a second co-worker. >> you decide 2016. 24 hours after the first debate and the nation is still buzzing. early estimates show nielsen that actuallily from nielsen show that more than 84 million people tuned in to watch the trump/clinton showdown with many eyes still on them the candidates continued to stump today. both of them hit battleground states. clinton spent today in north carolina at a community college and trump met with the mostly cuban crowd in miami, florida before heading to rally melbourne. they both stuck to their talking points the nominees reflected on last night's spectacle. >> i talked about how we have the worst so-called recovery since the great depression. i laid out details specific plans for new direction. the american people rendered their verdict. the post debate polls as i said to you were so great. >> a lot of work for fact checkers last night. >> reporter: well parents tonight are frustrated because they tell me they had little to know notice about the school being closed and they are still unclear about what happened. nine-year-old is outside playing instead of inside doing homework because her school salem middle has been closed this week. the kids came home friday seeing they didn't have school. i didn't believe them because i didn't get no letter sent home. i didn't get no recordin record. >> she didn't even get automated call from the school until 5:00 o'clock sunday evening. >> seeing that the, um, they had inspection, the ceiling fell so that the kids they ain't got school monday that was wednesday and they will return to school thursday. >> reporter: destiny daniels daughter is a seventh grader here. auto mated call was so unexpected she didn't have time to find a place for her child to go. >> at 12 years old y, i have to leave you home. i don't want to and i'm calling making sure you're okay. you know, you just -- it's an inconvenience. >> the superintendent told us on the phone that there was a ceiling collapse and the school development authority advised them to vacate the building because it was eminent hazard he did not say why the ceiling came down. tamika austin is upset word of the incident first bread over social media before the district informed parents. >> i know things happen were you the right way to handle it would be to have some kind of meeting to address these issues and everybody is on the same page. >> reporter: starting tomorrow the district plans to send third graders to johnson wood ad academy and eighth graders to seven high. they will start thursday if it's approved for occupancy. austin isn't happy her daughter will have to walk a mile to salem high school. >> people still are like where are my kids going? guy. they say he walk into the rite aid along west landis of a early this morning with another guy and tried to rob the place. investigators are telling us they demanded employee open the register when that person couldn't do that, cops say the guys tried to open open it themselves. it didn't work instead they took off with cigarettes thankfully no one was hurt. >> philadelphia's juniata neighborhood cops say this man walked into the 7eleven along east luzerne street last week armed with a two by four. investigators say a store worker ran to the stock room and called 911. when he saw the man come in. police say the hooded man used that piece of wood to smash open the register. he took off with the cash. if you have any information, you know what to do, give police a phone call. well, tonight police in fairless hills are looking for a moon who tried to lure a child into his car. he happened yesterday evening outside the st. francis school. police say a white man in his 40s with facial hair and short brown hair tried to get a child into a dark blue mini van but the child did not get in. he toll his mom. you can help find that man and give police a phone call. three girls who prosecutors say killed a high school student were get their day in court a judge in wilmington, delaware, scheduled that court date for april 3rd. a year after the 16-year-old's death it will not be in front of a jury. prosecutors will try all three girls who authorities believe are responsible for amy joyner francis' death as juveniles. an autopsy found that joyner francis who had pre-existing heart condition died of a sudden cardiac event during bathroom fight in wilmington's howard high school of technology. ♪ happening right now, delaware county employee is under fire for police ex lit situatedly talk about police officer. upper superintendent chide chitwood told me it's not about whether or not you can, it's about whether or not you should. >> when you see that type of hatred it certainly raises your antenna but again she has a right to say what she feels. the unfortunate thing is that she works in an environment where trust is very very important component. >> see about three to 5-inches of rain. here's how it will happen tomorrow. some showers moving in by the dinner hour but spotty at best. tomorrow night, into thursday morning's rush, that's when we see the rain heavy at times. that will go through the day and team up with some wind. but notice where the heaviest rain further to the west. the eastern shore of maryland and heading toward the d.c. area. we will be seeing possibility of an inch of rain in philadelphia but as you head westward, you see higher accumulations so one to 2is right through wilmington heading toward newark, delaware. and then the eastern shore and up to 3-inches some higher amounts from lancaster westward. we will be seeing some strong winds as well. winds gusting out of the east at about 30 miles an hour for
