steadier shower activity and a lot more rain out to the west let's look at it combination of cold front and remnants of tropical depression lee. that tells us winds are no longer tropical storm force but you can see look at all the rain here out to the west the heaviest rain next couple days will be out to the west remember with irene it was washington points south and east this time around it will be washington points west to get the heaviest rain doesn't mean if you are watching southern maryland you don't have a potential for an inch or two of rain but the worst will be out to the west slowly enough here is your flash flood watch, washington, baltimore, front royal all the counties in green under the flash flood watch again the visual forecast calling for 1 to 3 inches of rain starting later this afternoon and tonight that will linger into tomorrow if we get some thunderstorms going locally, areas could see more than 15 inches of rain parts of the area, picked up between 5 and 10 inches east of the city with irene it will not take a lot to cause more flooding as we get into the afternoon and night time hours. >> 76 regan national, 73 gaithersburg, 75 leonard town and 76
