may the sixth actually not may the fifth although some of you may still be reveling in your cinco de mayo celebrations and want to keep it may fifth today. but otherwise, we are look, at changing weather through the weekend. we've still got some pesky showers as low pressure slowly drifts off towards the north and east. everything that you see on radar drifting downward from cleveland, pittsburgh, charleston, that's a trough that's going to swing through and bring us clouds showers and cool conditions today. a little closer to home nothing overhead in washington. there has been a little shower activity out by cumberland hagerstown along that 68 corridor. headed towards winchester and that area of course hosting the virginia golf. 55 in westminster. it's 59 in annapolis. winds are still out of the south as the actual cold front has not pushed through yet. you could see we are kind of breezy 20 miles an hour in washington but it is through places like cumberland so expect that wind shift to occur later this afternoon and that will continue to usher in cooler weather. so, i don't think our temperatures climb too much from where we are right now. plan on needing an umbrella with scattered showers all day. maybe a few peeks of sunshine in between but it will be consistently breezy and cool. high temperature of 62 here in washington. but it will feel cooler in the 50's all day where most people stay all day long due to the wind and the chilly showers so just a high temperature of 55 in martinsburg, 59 in dulles. it's going to be a cool week. first half of may looking well below normal. this trend continues. i'll have that in your seven-day forecast still ahead. annie. >> thanks so much caitlin. new developments overnight in the alleged rockville rape case. morning the city of manassas realized it made an $850,000 mistake. it's been overcharging businesses on their tax bills for years. the plan to fix this problem isn't sitting so well with people. fox5's lauren demarco has this story. >> reporter: while preparing for a budget proposal, the city government noticed it had been accidentally overcharging businesses the past few years. they were using a tax rate higher than what the tax code actually allows for. with interest the city of manassas owes $850,000 to split among them, that will be an average refund of about 500 bucks a piece. business owners are happy, at least those who don't live here because it looks like that cash will come from a new tax increase on residents. >> the city is stepping up to the plate, coming out letting the businesses know they've been overpaying. they're looking to rectify the situation. >> residents are going to see tax go up so that they can pay this back. >> yeah, so, technically, my council is expected to pass an increase on what's commonly known as the car tax. currently each year residents here hundred dollars of the value of their cars, trailers aren't boats. that tax would now jump to $3.60. >> i think they need to figure out where to get the money other than from the people that had nothing to do with their mistake and it's just -- i only lived here six months but wouldn't matter where i live that this is just wrong. >> i think the city should look to see if there's other places they can find the money but if they can't find the money anywhere else i think as someone who pays the property tax on those vehicles i think i would be okay for it for a year if that's the amount of time it takes to raise the funds to pay back the businesses that they overcharged but i would have a serious question about what are 93 going to do with that money in years after? is that a permanent or one time raise on my property taxes? >> all right, the city council approved the plan in a preliminary straw poll but a final decision won't be made until monday. as of now, the new car tax hike would be a permanent change. time now is 7:08. still ahead this saturday morning i'm actually an attorney, a family law attorney and after coming in third on the reality show survivor in 2006, i used the money to start the organization because i saw a lack of prevention as well as that gps is everywhere. our fitbit, our phone, you know, and also being part of the fact that we have technology everywhere i think that's an added element to understand how easy it is to track
