Developing this morning, out of manatee county, a deputy shoots and kills a man who he says charged at him with a knife. The sheriff says it all started when deputies responded to a fight at a home on bookelia circle in bradenton. A woman called 9 11 to say her husband 50 year old Marc Stoddart had been drinking and threatening to hurt them both with a knife. The sheriff says when deputies got there the man had cut his wrists and was standing outside holding the knife. The deputies reportedly told the man to drop it but they say he charged forward and was shot and killed. The deputy who fired his weapon is on leave while the shooting is under investigation. Developing out of st. Petersburg, a 4 year off a shot thankfully, no one was hurt. Police say the boy had been playing outside a home on yale street south when he chased a cat under the house. Hidden in a crawl space the boy found a revolver. He took it onto the porch and fired one round into the ground. The boys family says the gun does not belong to them. Investigators believe someone may have tossed the gun under the home to hide it. Terrifying moments for several families in clearwater over the weekend after 2 small children almost drowned. Sunday morning a 2 year old boy was found in his familys pool on buford boulevard. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. And on saturday night on Highland Acres drive a 1 yearold boy was found face down in a 55gallon drum of water used for tilapia farming. We dont know how hes doing this morning. In both cases the parents were nearby and say they had only lost sight of the kids for a moment. Developing right now, the body of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has arrived at a funeral home in el paso, texas. Scalia was found dead of an apparent heart attack in his room at a west texas after having dinner and saying he wanted a long nights sleep. His body will be flown back home to his family in virginia on tuesday. He was the longest serving justice on the current court.
