around eight- thirty this morning california time when someone reported hearing three shots in the basement of a building. the base immediately went on alert. it )s facebook page told occupants of building 26 at the medical center to quote--run,hide or fight. but after searching the area, no shooter was ever found. local law enforcement joined the navy in a top down search of the building, but again no evidence there apparently a false alarm. three san diego schools were placed on a brief lockdown just as a precaution. live in the control room, les smith newschannel three. newport news fell but they did not know the point of origin. right now-- they continue to the day before six chesapeake massage parlors were raided --- several detectives went undercover to investigate. those are all new details newschannel 3 s nadeen yanes discovered in court documents today. it was a year long investigation -- where chesapeake detectives spent hundreds of hours investigating if sexual activities wergoing down at 6 massage parlors in town. and the day before the big bust -- this month 5 detectives literally went undercover to see for themselves,. all new details discovered in 6 search warrants filed in chesapeake circuit court. including -- those detectives who went undercover -- describe how they were touched innapporporitaly -- the search warrant saying -- the masseuse exposed and touched their quote "erogenous area". allison plant works just doors down from one of the parlors that was busted as an insurance agent -- -- and right after the raid -- told us -- for a driver who led police on a chase into norfolk and then crashed into a home. here )s a look at a picture that shows the black infiniti, that stoney point north and john hancock lane. police say-- an officer in chesapeake tried to pull the driver over for equipment failure. we )re told, the man refused to stop-- taking the officer on a chase through interstate 264-- and into the stony point neighborhood. police say the man crashed into the side of the home then got out and ran. while there may be no physical damage to the home -- the impact was heart dropping for the homeowner-- no one was hurt. police say they are working a lead but have not yet made an arrest. hampton police say calls to crime line led them to a man wanted in a carjacking earlier this month. police arrested 25-year-old james drew. investigators say about two weeks ago-- drew carjacked a man on michigan drive. the victim wasn t hurt during the crime. police say your calls to the crime line helped them track down a suspect in the carjacking. several charges. a vacant building was damaged in a late night fire in chesapeake. it happened on woodland drive and reef knot court just after midnight last night. crews say the building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. the fire was under control in a half an hour. no one was hurt. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. coming died in his sleep at his daughter )s home in new jersey anxiety grows in parts of southern california, as three dangerous men remain on the loose. authorities are offering a 50- thousand-dollar reward search for three inmates who escaped from a maximum-security prison in santa ana.for many years, grand juries that report on the orange county mens central jail have cited problems with the security camera system and have called for change, according to cbs2s kara finnstrom. in the 2014-2015 report, jurors stated: )previous grand juries have found that all the adult jails have had inadequate video surveillance equipment. upgrade had not been completed due to lack of financial resources. )state officials also report there have been a total of 15 rooftop escapes during the jails 47 years in operation. the jail break committed by jonathan tieu, 20, bac duong, 43, and hossein was the orange county register. on friday, the trio of fugitives obtained tools that allowed them to cut through the quarter-inch- thick grill on a dormitory wall, then got into plumbing tunnels. additional half- inch-thick steel bars, the men made their way to an unguarded area of the roof of the four- story building and used makeshift ropes they created from bed sheets to repel down the side of the jail facility and escape from the complex. the escape wasnt noticed for 16 hours, until a nighttime head count that was delayed about an hour because of a fight involving some other inmates that may — or may not — have been part of the escape plan. it was the first escape in nearly three decades from the california facility built in 1968. it holds 900 men and is located santa ana, about 30 miles utheast of los angeles. . ff hallock, orange county eriffs spokesman, said there is no evidence so far that was more than piper s doctor. she was there at her delivery. pegy brought piper in for a check up the day before she died. dr. niran al- agba/piper s pediatrician "she looked like a child with the flu. she looked like any other child with the flu." after piper passed away, doctor al-agba did some digging and learned that piper had complained of calf pain. niran al- agba/piper s-p&-p&-p&-p&pediatrician "and i have a young child coming in, a young girl, and she doesn t actually have very impressive symptoms." another little girl who just like piper, didn t get a flu vaccine... and came down with the virus. she also could have been sent home. but then she brought up an odd symptom. dr. niran al- agba/piper )s pediatrician "the calf pain and the flu symptoms together." turns out she had h-1- n-1 just like piper. dr. niran al- agba/piper s pediatrician "she was heading down the same road absolutely." but this girl received treatment just in time. dr. niran al- agba/piper s-p&pediatrician "i feel like something has come out of piper s death, that we ve learned, potentially, another complication of the flu and if we catch it early, maybe there s something we can do." and it s something for this grieving mother to hold onto. people in the medical community say they )re grateful... because piper s death did more than raise awareness -- it also saved a life. ahead at 4: a settlement reached between the owners of a the owners of the sunken cargo ship-- el faro have reached a settlement with ten of the crew s families. court documents say tote maritime will pay each of the 10 families five-hundred- thousand- dollars to settle pending lawsuits. el faro sank in october of last year -- after getting caught in hurricane joaquin near the bahamas. all thirty-three crew members on board died. the company says it did everything in its power to ensure the safety of its crew. officials in thailand say debris found last week is (not from missing malaysia airlines flight 370. a large piece of curved metal was found by a fisherman last friday. both malaysian and thai officials inspected the debris and believe it did not aircraft as the was such a great friend."sara greene s body shook, during our interview over the murder of her good friend, jessica colker. the 39- year-old atlanta resident and her husband moved next door to greene last september. sara greene/friend "she was and she really loved to dance. that was her passion. that was how wet met several years ago, before she moved here, next door."on sunday around noon, colker and her husband were vacationing in grenada, walking on a beach in saint david. sara greene/friend "she loved to travel with her husband."the royal grenada police force told me over the phone a man attacked the couple, reportedly with a sword, and killed colker. officials say a person of interested turned himself in the next morning. colker worked at children s healthcare of atlanta as a pediatric anesthetist, according to online records. the hospital group sent us this statement, which reads, in part: "jessica was a valued member of our children )s team. we are deeply saddened by this horrific news." greene said colker really cared about people. she was even planning a valentines day dance benefit to help refugees. sara greene/friend "i think the thing i think about most is school students from desert vista high school in phoenix posed for a photo wearing t-shirts with letters on them. standing together, the teens spelled out an offensive word. the photo was shared thousands of times online, and sparked outrage nationwide. during a rally organized by civil rights leaders, one of what happened. the district superintendent said the six students have been days, but would not elaborate further on their punishment. a minneapolis officer has been fired after officials say he was caught on camera threatening to break a teenagers leg. police say the incident happened back in march -- and that is when an investigation into the officer began -- he was placed on administrated leave -- and then was fired yesterday. the teen in the video says -the officer pulled over the car he and three of his friends were in. he says police held them for 45 minutes while they searched their car and did background checks. later, officers told them they were suspected of stealing a car, but all 4 were let go without being arrested. the minneapolis police federation says it will likely appeal the officers firing. texas - take a look . a witness says it started when both men made )obscene gestures at each other... they stopped at a traffic light... one driver pulled out a bat... the other grabbed a long pole from the back of his truck -- and they went at each other. neither driver was hurt. when the light turned green, the men got back into their vehicles and took off-- and were gone by the time police arrived. an apple store employee at a tennessee mall is receiving high praise for his quick action. after he saw a nine-year-old child with special needs run into a wall, he came to the boy and helped him and his mother. lori mitchell explains . this is lynnmarie rink, and her nine-year-old son, james. the little boy has down syndrome and, a few years ago, was diagnosed with autism. lynnmarie rink/mother "when you re a parent of a specials needs child you get some people are kind but you don t ever know what you are going to get." james uses an i- pad to help him communicate. on thursday, the mother and son were at the apple store at the mall at green hills buying a new one ... when something outside the store caught the little boy )s attention. james tried to run after it. instead, he ran right into a clear glass wall. lynnmarie rink/mother "he just took off running full steam ahead. and he smacked himself right into that wall. the sound was horrific and he fell flat over and then he hit his head again on the floor. everyone in the store gasped along with me." as lynnmarie tried to console her son, a worker rushed to his side to make sure he was o-k. lynnmarie rink/mother "andrew came over and he sat down and he just looked at me and he just said, what can i do for you. he might as well have given me a million dollars." the worker then went a step further by sitting down on the floor with the little boy to program his new i-pad and show him how to use it. touched by the this picture of james and the apple worker, andrew wall -- then posted a thank you note on facebook. the message spread quickly -- all the way has working in its green hills store ... ... and she wants the world to know ahead at 4: a fiery crash leaves a family without a home tonight -- what caused the a texas couple is staying with family after their home was destroyed by an 18-wheeler that crashed into their house. john grobe has the story. a family )s home, turned to ash. this is all that )s left of their house about five miles west
