someone stabbed the 15-ye gate and headed toward an escalator at the deanwood station on monday. we learned he was in d.c. for a court appearance. evans' stabbing comes just three weeks after another teen davonte washington was shot and killed at the same metro station. these murders weeks apart at the same metro station involving minors have stunned that ward seven community and raised concerns fine. travel times in ten minutes. a $15 minimum wage could soon be a reality for local workers. lawmakers are considering it here in d.c. and montgomery county. bills to raise the minimum wage have already passed in san francisco, new york city, seattle and l.a. kristin wright is live at the shady grove metro station to break down a new plan being introduced today. kristin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. people here at the shady grove metro station are headed to work, many of them minimum wage workers making only $9.55 an hour in montgomery county and many of them feeling like that is simply not a living wage. so today, a member of the montgomery county council will introduce a bill to gradually raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by july of 2020. pay would go up to $12.50 in 2018, $13.75 in 20 $15 in 2020. d.c. mayor muriel bowser wants to raise the minimum wage in the district to $15, as well. this morning at 6:30, we'll tell you how much the minimum wage is metro's busiest stations could soon get name changes. metro is trying to decide if it should add national mall to the smithsonian station's name or kennedy center for the foggy bottom george washington university station. it would mean changing signs that would cost thousands of dollars. the district would have to foot the bill for that. some riders are not convinced the name change is
