The Philadelphia Water Department had to shut off service just after 3 00 this morning to save the road from serious flooding but you can see there is mud caked on car tires up and down somerdale avenue. So its going to be a little slow going getting out the door for some people in this area this morning. And also happening today, Bucks County Community college will hold an information session for potential students who have been turned away by itt tech. Itt tech abruptly closed down entirely after an announcement that the government would not give students federal aid to attend the school. That meant a loss of 580 million in expected funding. This affects four locations in our area. The department of education has been investigating itt since 2004. 35,000 students in 38 states are affected by the shutdown. Brand new here, a Bucks County Community has decided to keep its Police Department following a lengthy and highly charged Borough Council meeting. It was standing room only at last nights meeting in pendel. At issue, whether to continue funding their own Police Department or outsource the service to nearby middletown township. The Borough Council president says outsourcing would save residents money and lead to more resources but critics argued they would lose much more including their personal relationships with officers so for now pendel police are staying.
