"action news" reporter annie mccormack is live at philadelphia police headquarters with that part of the story, annie. >> reporter: matt, you are right, there were protest as cross the country including one right here in philadelphia. thankfully the one here began and ended peacefully. here in philadelphia on thursday night local activist, and leaders in town for ame church convention rocked city streets voicing their concern protesting peacefully. shooting deaths of the three two-year old philando castille anal ton sterling by law enforcement happened just days apart and both were recorded. castille was shot and killed by police during a traffic stop in minute so the a his girl friend streamed the aftermath live on facebook. in louisiana day before police responding to a 911 call about a man brandishing a gunshot and killed sterling. afterward police pulled a gun from his pocket. >> whenever you have what happened in baton rouge and minneapolis, you have to say you have to do something. >> did you ever think you are that department that can't be impact by that? that is your personal mistake. you just hope that if something tragic happens in your department that you established relationships that will stop unfortunate incidents throughout your neighborhood. >> reporter: here in the city of philadelphia, there are a variety of protest that is happened frequently downtown in center city, often at peak rush hour times. our police are making sure not only police are safe and even protesters and citizens that are part of the protests. we are beginning to wonder how moving forward they will handle protests including the ones that will happen during the dnc convention where we're hoping to find out those answers later today. reporting live outside philadelphia police headquarters, annie mccormack for channel six "action news". back to you. boardwalk. looking at satellite on future tracker six there isn't a whole lot going on. maybe a few cloud during the morning hours. then during the afternoon cloud are probably going to thicken up a little bit and at the same time future tracker indicate something spotty but potentially drenching thunderstorms developing in this humid air mass. this is 3:00 he clock view. i cannot guarantee only thing happening is over here by the shore but this give you an indication that there is definitely enough humidity out there to develop a drenching storm. by three or four or five or 6:00 o'clock we have more spotty activity filling in. there is a bit more possible straight through the evening up until ten or 11:00 o'clock tonight. there are storms that develop west of philadelphia, there is actually another component where we have a slight risk of these developing strong damaging win gusts as well. what we are seeing is just lightening and drenching downpours and gusty wind but further west, the berth chance of a damaging storm. lehigh valley today 92, still hot and humid just like last couple days. spotty thunderstorm possible and that heat index value in the upper 90's. down the shore that is where we will get relief, once again, mid 80's, uv index is high. don't forget about the sun screen. warmer down in, delaware, and 73 in the the ocean off our delaware beach. back inland brutality protest in downtown dallas. another six officers were wounded plus a civilian. the hundreds of people were protesting this weeks police shooting near dallas city hall when shootings began. police say three suspects are in custody, the last word we have is a fourth suspect was in a standoff having exchanged gunfire with police in the downtown area. president obama a called these attacks >> we have been feeling bad for regional rail riders this week as it has been a very tough week with long delays, and very crowded trains. this morning we have been watching train view on septa.org the overnight crash in horsham. the county line road remains shut down, take street road or moreland avenue to get around it. we had a crash in montgomeryville that popped up and cleared out quickly near ruby tuesday's along 309 at cow path road. tree limb in the roadway in upper providence at cider mill road pushed out of the way as of our construction debris by 29. we have that crash in salem protest. eleven officers were shot. at least five were killed. >> three suspects are in custody and fourth person engaged, authorities in tense standoff. >> catherine scott, gathering later police in toms river, new jersey shot a man touring a search of the wooded area. no officers were injured, the shooting happened around midnight on the 100 block of haines road. neighbors reported seeing a suspicious vehicle there. police are looking for a second vehicle described as a dark colored suv. man who was shot is being treated at a nearby trauma center. tensions between police and public have been reaching a boiling point in the wake of the two deadly shootings in just days. let turn to annie mccormack live outside police headquarters with the local protests and officer dorman seven times last month as the 25 year-old was responding to a drug call. dorman managed to get on his radio and call for help. >> one through my nose and came out my cheek. i didn't know it at the time but one hit my chest where my badge is and my shirt. >> there are more surgeries ahead for officer dorman but he is expect to make a full recovery. dorman says he loves being a cop despite the dangers. glad to hear good news about his full recovery. yes, no doubt. we are making a semi full recovery over next 48 hours from our heat, but still excessive in terms of the heat abe humidity. storm tracker six live double scan shows us we are dry. we have sunshine over the horizon. down the shore still looks like it is cloudy but you you can see blue showing through every now and then. we are looking at a fair amount of early sunshine day with clouds increasing, later in the day and then we are watching thunderstorms. 78 degrees, is your current temperature, dew point up over 70 in philadelphia, and across much of the region. that is an indication, of oppressive humidity that is still in place this morning. wind southwest not that strong at 8 miles an hour. future tracker six showing you sun and clouds mix. we will get to midday, more of the same. during afternoon hours, one or two or 3:00 o'clock we will see showers and thunderstorms develop. and then in this humid air mass, like yesterday, anything that does form, even though it will be fairly spotty could open up a very big downpour for you. of course we will get lightening fit is a thunderstorm and gusty wind ahead of the rain. cannot guarantee at 3:00 this is where it will be but it is an indication of a humid air mass and if anything does pop it can be a drencher. we will see a couple more, for 6:00 o'clock. we will get in the evening hours, couple more are possible. if you happen to be west of philadelphia, you have a little better chance of seeing a strong gusty thunderstorm, the kind that could produce wind damage or hail. this is a large area have slight risk placed by national weather serve that is goes all the way out past pittsburgh. we are on the eastern edge of it but again, north and west of philadelphia would be better chance of the strong gusty thunderstorm. they will all be drenchers though. eighty-one by 8:00. eighty-seven by ten. by noon 91. your high will be 94 getting down into rehoboth beach and bethenny beach and it will be muggy on the beach too not as intense with the humidity but muggy and you will want cool drinks by the water. on saturday, starting in the morning and going up until midday, it will be a very muggy day, with high humidity, and temperatures won't be as hot though so that is good. but with the cold front out to the west once again there is a chance of pop up, drenching shower or thunderstorm. not everybody sees these but those that do will be really pounded with rain for a half an hour or something like. that of course there will be lightening and gusty wind with these storms as well. by 6:00 we are getting close to having it over. by 9:00 o'clock it will be dry and we might start to see that humidity go down. tomorrow will be very, very sticky just not as hot as today. forty-eight in the poconos today. muggy a warm afternoon with a thunderstorm around. saturday humid isolated thunderstorm but sunday cool breeze police were in the area investigating an earlier shooting. the 27 year-old victim is in critical condition, no arrests have been made. three hours earlier, officers were fragged down to help a 26 year-old shooting victim. police say two men ambush him at his front door on west third street. victim was struck once in the back of the leg and is stable. twenty-nine suspects fled on foot. the attacks in dallas will undoubted increase concern over protest that will take place during the democratic national convention in philadelphia later this month. this map released yesterday shows
