that that drinking water comes from that is around those former military facilities several federal agencies are involved in all this, the epa, navy, one state agent z-the department of environmental protections dep that's the organization giving away the water today. about 100 cases have been given away so far. folks around here have lots of questions. >> well, i want them to come out and test my well and to tell me definitively whether my well is contaminated or not. >> reporter: you have health concerns. >> yes. who wouldn't. >> reporter: the reason behind this bottled water give away to residents is contamination. contamination of the ground water in and around the former willow grove air station and naval warfare station compounds called pro-flooding rain 98ed chemicals may have leached into the ground water. because of the new epa advisory 16 municipal wells, five in horsham, five in warrington and six in warminster are now off line shut down along with an estimated 80 concerned and they should be concerned asking questions such as what impact will this have on our children. >> reporter: as we say lots of questions maybe some answers forth coming. the navy and the good. verizon workers held a protest today in wynnefield heights as their strike moves towards its fifth week. a large group of union members and supporters rallied outside the verizon store on city avenue today. 40,000 workers walked off the job back in april. their main reason is about the outsourcing of jobs to mexico and overseas. they rejected the most recent offer from verizon which included a seven and a half percent raise and protection from layoffs. >> they are the future of medicine and today they officially took the next step on their journeys. drexel university's college of medicine held its commencement ceremony at the kimmel center today. 434 students got their medical degrees masters or ph.d.'s. former secretary of u.s. health and human services department louis troubles because the kelly drive remains closed. detour back around the ball fields with a whole bunch of other people. i did that last night. you can stay on the mlk drive with a whole bunch of other people or stay on the schuylkill with a whole bunch of other people, 12 miles per hour there. maybe think outside the box, ridge avenue or lancaster avenue some other possible alternates. on the vine street expressway this afternoon trouble here in the westbound lanes by broad street at crash taking out the left lane causing gridlock coming away from 95 and 95 itself is quite heavy here on the southbound side approaching cottman. that's because just up ahead broken down cement truck but it appears to be on the move. however, it is has cemented a really slow ride for you on 95 southbound. association in kentucky. at that same event the nra officially endorsed the presumptive republican nominee. trump once supported a ban on assault weapons but he has now reversed that stance and says he does not want a ban on assault weapons. hillary clinton will campaign for tighter gun laws this weekend. she'll be in florida with mothers who have lost their children to gun violence including the mother of trayvon martin. a new poll from the new york times today shows clinton leading trump by six points. that's down from 10 points just a month ago. and that's saying -- same poll shows bernie sanders with more than double the lead over trump than clinton has. >> the man suspected of organizing the paris terror attacks is refusing to talk with investigators. police were hoping that salah abdeslam would give information about the islamic state's strategies in europe and they also want to know if there are any suspects who survived the november attacks in paris that killed 130 people. but abdeslam refused to cooperate or answer any questions in court today. the concern about isis also runs deep here at home where philadelphia police say they're increasingly having to deal with the many 10 tackles of that terror organization. tonight at 11:00 we talk to the city's top counter terrorism officials who tell us about their fight against isis right here and we hear from one delaware you -- take a look outside sky6 live in hd down the shore in cape may, you can actually see some folks on the beach. we had some sailboats in the water as well a nice crisp breeze there, the shore probably feels pretty comfortable. let's show you the numbers outside across much of the region. it is cooler at the coast. right now numbers there are only in the middle and upper 60's with 75 as you head inland there in philadelphia, 74 for reading, 76 in allentown, 73 in lancaster, down in dover at this hour we're coming in at 76 degrees. we'll talk about the 80-degree days we've seen so far this year. if you go back in march, we had two days. that's pretty rare. in april we had three days with temperatures in the 80's or higher and so far for the month of may, we've not seen any days with temperatures in the 80's. last may we had 13 days in the 80's at this point. things will change, however, as we get into early and late next week. here's satellite6 along with action radar. you can see it's dry right now. the clouds are building. there's an area of low pressure just to the south and west of nashville, tennessee. that's an area of low pressure that we're tracking but the primary low that works its way into our region as we go throughout the day on saturday will start to form just off the georgia-carolina coast and that's going to work its way into our region for saturday. in the near term for the rest of tonight it's a good looking night to play some ball. phils at home, first pitch around 7:05, a few clouds, it's comfortable. first pitch temperature around 71 degrees. once we get into the ninth inning as they take on the braves that temperature drops down to 64. here's future tracker six. 8 o'clock in the morning on saturday, it's a cloudy start but you notice that moisture to our south and west. it will start to approach and as we go throughout 11:00 a.m. tomorrow the moisture starting to invade much of the delaware and lehigh valleys with that heavier pocket just to the south and west of wilmington and dover. by 2 o'clock in the afternoon we were talking about the heavy of that rain, it looks to be in the city, points to the south and as you go to the north and west, we do have light to moderate pockets of moisture. the heaviest starts to move off by about 5, 6 o'clock in the evening tomorrow after which we are just left with some showers by 8:30 and for the rest of saturday night. the four day at 4:00 looks like this it's a soggy start to your he could woo. rainy, breezy and cooler, a high temperature of just 61 degrees. on temple university honored the man who helped transform that school into what it is today. students faculty and board members joined the family of peter liacouras to celebrate his life at the performing arts center today. as temple's seventh pressley courses led the university's evolution from a local commuter school to an internationally known public research institution. he passed away philadelphia suburbs. >> investigators believe their suspects to be lingd to more crimes. trish hartman talks to one of the victims and joins us now from solebury township police headquarters with the story. trish. >> reporter:. >> reporter: sharrie, solebury police are trying to find owners of hundreds of pieces of stolen jewelry and while they have charged a suspect with several recent burglaries, they would like to know if that man is responsible for more. necklaces, earrings, passports, all stolen according to detectives. these items covered the tables at the solebury township building and police say this isn't all of it. they're hoping they'll be able to reunite some of the items with their rightful owners on wednesday at 6:30 p.m. >> so our hope is that the public comes out on wednesday night takes a look at everything and we can clear multiple burglaries not only in bucks county, montgomery possibly delaware and in philadelphia. >> just top of my dresser took the jewelry boxes, opened drawers and ransacked that and blue back down the sense out the front door. >> reporter: this victim says her solebury township home was broken into while no one was home. she says she'll be there wednesday. her high school class ring and several other sentimental items were swiped. >> my husband had bought me a jewelry box when we were dating and it was a maribel blue and white jewelry box. so, that had a lot of sentimental value. >> reporter: surveillance cameras on her property captured the suspect's vehicle pulling up and leaving just minutes later. police were able to use that video to connect this case with another burglary in solebury township and two others in newtown township and whitemarsh township montgomery county. when police ran the tag and started visiting pawnshops they discovered the same man, 35-year-old william dawson had pawned jewelry at five different sites. dalton was arrested monday in addition to the items that were pawned police found hundreds of items in his home and vehicle items they believe are stolen. >> there's items here that i believe would be, you know, very personal to some of these people and i'm sure they had like to have that back. >> reporter: now, police say you must bring a police report to prove that your home had been burglarized. if you would like to take a look at those stolen items here at the police "action news." sharrie. >> trish, thank you. a philadelphia man is behind bars accused of trying to lure who he thought was a young teen into having sex with him. instead of a 14-year-old girl, he was met with a police officer. he was arrested on the spot. he is charged with multiple felonies. this case was part of an online sting. police are hoping this surveillance video help lead to the arrest an armed robber. the man can be seen putting items from the west philadelphia store into a black bag but when an employee confronted him, he pulled a gun and then left the store. you're asked to call police if you know anything about this crime which happened on sunday. >> a fire broke out this afternoon inside a southwest philadelphia refine knee. chopper6 hd was overhead rider about noon today as smoke poured from one of the furnaces at philadelphia energy solutions. emergency responders from the company and the philadelphia fire department quickly responded to the scene. they put that fire most popular trails. the city just unveiled four new public water stations on kelly drive. runners cyclists and rowers can use them to fill up reusable bottles. organizers hope this will help reduce "action news at 4:00 continues next. >> ♪ >> the uber driver charged with the mass shooting in kalamazoo michigan had to be dragged out of the courtroom today. tyaina caruthers was crying as she took the stand to describe her alleged encounter with that accused shooter jason dalton. that's when he went off on a rambling rant. less than 30 seconds after the judge warned him to be quiet he started yelling and the guards had to escort him out. dalton is accused of killing six people and injuring two others including caruthers. >> in health check today at 4:00 the fda has approved the first drug schuylkill expressway. clogged in both directions here by montgomery drive. eastbound travel time a little bit worse if you're headed towards the phils game 42 minutes is about three times what it ideally should be so not looking so hot on the schuylkill. we can can't send you to the kelly drive instead. that's still blocked off for the stotesbury he regatta and the mlk is going to be busy also. maybe think outside the box a little bit. ridge avenue or lancaster avenue some possible alternates. this is the vine street expressway. that crash that we had on the westbound side by broad street is pushed off to the side. but the heavy delays linger here in both directions by 76 the schuylkill expressway. and still slow going on 95 southbound as you enter the worked here at cottman but a little bit better than last time because that broken down cement truck has been cleared out of the way. so the lanes are opened, it's just a little heavy as you head towards center city on the southbound side of 95. had a crash by saint charles borromeo seminary at city and lancaster but that cleared out. at argyle and wynnewood watch out for an accident. it was one on the pennsylvania turnpike just like yesterday afternoon eastbound side by norristown. it's off to the side now but you're still being treated to 10 miles per hour. schuylkill eastbound not a whole lot better at 11 miles per hour and east whiteland chester county watch out for a crash along 401 at bacton hill road. we'll come back in about a half hour and check it again brian and sharrie. >> sounds good. matt changes as we get into saturday evening. outside at this hour it's 75 in philadelphia, comfortable up in allentown, nice to be above average for a change coming in at 76. 77 up in the poconos right now. cooler at the coast from beach haven down to cape may. temperatures are only in the 60's. here is satellite6 along with action radar. high pressure has been dominating our region real from new england all the way down across the midatlantic. what we are tracking and what we are watching, two pieces of energy right now, there's an area of low pressure just to the south of cincinnati and there's also an area of lope low pressure forming just off the coast of georgian the carolinas. this will work its way up the eastern seaboard and take over and with that we have the moisture on the move. the call from accuweather, however, over the next 12 hours stars early then turning cloudy as that moisture gets closer to our regionally we'll drop down to 53 in the suburbs and 56 in philadelphia for the overnight low. here's future tracker six as we time out the moisture for the start of our weekend. 8 o'clock in the morning it's mostly cloudy. you notice those showers getting closer to us. south and west of lancaster approaching dover as well. as we get into 11 o'clock tomorrow morning make sure you have the wet weather gear with you because the moisture will be increasing as the day wears on. the heaviest pocket you could see by 2 o'clock in the afternoon in philadelphia and areas to the south as well for south jersey and also into delaware. the tail end of the day you could see 5 o'clock in the evening the heaviest starting to push out of our region and moving to the north and east. by 8:30 tomorrow evening we just have some lingering moisture overhead. we'll break it down region by region for you with the rainfall. in our northwest suburbs you could find anywhere from a half inch to an inch of precipitation. right along that 95 corridor three-quarters of an inch to about an inch and a quarter's worth. delaware, south jersey depending on the area of low pressure and how it tracks, anywhere from an inch to an inch and a half and locally higher amounts than that. this really sets us up for an unsettled pattern tomorrow and then right through sunday into tuesday, we essentially have this trough of low pressure that's cut off from the main jet stream. so we have showers, pockets of sunshine and then a few pop-up showers as we go throughout the day sunday monday into tuesday before the pattern breaks. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast showing it's rainy, breezy, cooler day tomorrow, high of just 61. clouds around, still unsettled on sunday. couple of showers at 68. a pop-up thundershower likely on monday, 70. 76 on tuesday. then it gets better. on wednesday sunny and warm, summer-like, a high of 83. 84 on thursday with a string of 80's on the way next friday a high temperature of 85 degrees. so we'll get rid of the wet weather
