rogers with traffic, good morning. >> reporter: the humidity is rising today and there's a system coming in from the west that will give us downpours this afternoon and evening and tomorrow. you will see clouds cover to the west of us, clouds will build and eventually we'll tap into the moisture we see to the west and southwest. there's a flood watch that kicks in around dinnertime tonight and doesn't end until friday evening. we're under the threat of potential downpours of showers and thunderstorms coming in. starting later today and tonight and tomorrow. 77 degrees and dry. 69 in allentown. 73 in cape may. 75 in wilmington, those of you in trenton are waking up to 73. the dewpoints are on the rise in philadelphia and points south. we're back up in the 70s. it's oppressive humidity this morning, not so bad in allentown and reading and won't be as much as rain up there, either. the workout forecast, 78 degrees by 9:00 a.m., muggy in philadelphia. at least it's dry for the early run and the commute for that matter. 86 degrees by 10:00 a.m. we shoot up to 93 for the high we could get there as soon as noon. depending on how quickly the rain moves in. that's when temperatures drop. the rain will cool us down. it's possibly back down to 84 by 3:00 p.m. the trade off there could showers and thunderstorms around by then. karen i'll track all the storms coming up in future tracker 6. take a look at tomorrow, that's an issue in terms of rain. >> reporter: we're seeing police officers at the police checkpoint. i-95 approaching the vine street expressway. blocking the left lane and the shoulder setting up on both sides of i-95 no trucks or vehicles over five tons allowed to continue on i-95 through philadelphia with the dnc. we saw rolling closures when we had motorcades going through. here's a police checkpoint, the other one is in southwest philadelphia on i-95 towards the platt bridge and the schuylkill expressway, expect delays coming out of there, as well. in horsham we had an accident that cleared on keith valley road things moving better there. new castle county, i-95 southbound between christiana and 273 we have construction blocking the right lane and now we head over to matt at the dnc. >> reporter: the wells fargo center crowd could barely contain its excitement, the men who hold the white house now pass the torch to a woman the speech where he talked about what he hopes hillary clinton is able to exrish when -- when she addresses the convention tonight. >> she has to see her heart, everybody knows her head. everybody knows how smart and tough and resilient she is and i hope they get a glimpse of her heart. >> reporter: biden added he is not undermining the effect she could have young girls across america if she good morning, gray and tam, i want you to look behind me, there are barriers in place. we have the garbage truck and another barrier making it difficult for unauthorized vehicles to get inside. it is one of the many security measures put in place, over the last several hours, several have been arrested for breaching security. chaos broke out where bernie sanders supporters were rallying, a woman's leg was badly burned during a flag burning she was trying to put out the flames. in a separate incident, the vet service said 7 people got through an outer perimeter fence and entered a secret service secure zone. they were detained and arrested and set to go before a judge. >> they had a bed sheet and they made a dash for the gate. cops coming in and they were going out, it turned into a circus. >> if it sounds familiar a similar incident happened two days ago, the individuals were arrested and appeared before a judge yesterday. most of the demonstrations have been pretty peaceful. it is important to mention the crowds, the numbers have dwindled as we got into the dnc. hillary clinton is expected to speak today, and it would be no surprise if the crowds grew. back inside to you. >> donald trump will make a campaign stop in iowa. most of the talk around him today is likely to center on something he said yesterday. trump is drawing widespread criticism for something he said in relief there. this model will take the humid air mass and a little disturbance coming in. by 9:00 a.m. it's coming into wilmington and areas of south jersey and delaware. is this correct where the precipitation is going to be, but it gives you the idea as soon as 10, 11, 12:00 we could see that. we'll have drenching showers and thunderstorms and gusty winds. by 6:00 p.m. it's not raining everywhere, it's later on tonight we see the widespread rain building in. this is of particular concern for flash flooding particularly in urban areas and poor drainage roadways. we have severe chance of weather in cape may and dover and there could department of justicing winds and hail. temperatures will be hard to plot today we'll go for a high of 93. i think we might hit that quickly in the day if that rain starts to push in you're going to find temperatures fluctuating and the temperatures in the 90s and 80s and pop back up to the 90s when we get breaks in the rain. we'll go for a high of 93. i'll play with the model idea there will be rain in and around philadelphia for a good portion of the afternoon or at least part of it. 93 is the high in philadelphia. we may hit the early and bounce back up to it this afternoon. 93 in allentown. 89 in millville. down the shore, 85 in beach haven and 83 on the point in cape may. again, look out for thunderstorms. overnight tonight, more rain, some of it heavy by tomorrow morning's rush hour we may get inundated. there could be a problem for the morning commute. we see the rain wind down a little bit as we go into the afternoon tomorrow. that flooding if it curse is going to linger beyond when the heaviest rain ends. humid today, at times rain and thunderstorms. heaviest of it building in tonight. friday there could flooding in the morning and rain tapering off. 82. 83 saturday, 84 sunday, spotty thunderstorms here and there. we get into next week we're in the 80s and not the 90s, humidity will drop by tuesday. remember drove off with his truck. police are looking for the suspects and the pick up truck. gun violence is a major point at the democratic convention center. charles ramsey said he has too many officers taken by gun violence and the same is true for innocent victims killed across the country. he called hillary clinton the right person to carry out new measures to reduce the violence. lenny took to
