fairly sunny conditions today. starting out cool. 51 degrees currently in philadelphia. not quite as much of a breeze as we had yesterday though. 50 in wilmington, 44 in allentown. still kind of cool in some of those northern and western areas. we're looking at a warm wednesday. 51 on your storm tracker six app right now. by 8 o'clock we could be back to about 57 and by noon, all the way up to 70 with a temperature of 75 by 3 o'clock and a high of 76 probably around 4 o'clock this afternoon. pollen counter is still running high today, although with a little bit of a change in our weather pattern we are going to see it gradually drop over the next couple days especially friday as we start to introduce a cool wind coming in off the ocean, kind of helping to cleanse things outer. when i step inside we'll talk about that cool down in the accuweather 7-day forecast, matt. >> all right, david. busy start to the hump day morning on the roadways but at least we're not dealing with the construction anymore here on the vine street expressway eastbound coming off the schuylkill headed to broad street. all lanes reopened. tonight they'll work on the westbound side where at this point there's no delay just yet. on the big picture delay just starting to form on southbound 95. speeds have dropped into the 30's there by girard. so far so good though on the schuylkill and in upper darby watch out for a crash this morning along state road at lansdowne avenue. by bryn mawr college we still have that water main break blocking at least one lane along new gulph road at morris avenue and in the bustleton section of the city we have this crash involving a police cruiser this morning. we're hearing it's fairly minor along krewstown road near rising sun avenue. they have the road blocked. instead of krewstown maybe stick with bustleton avenue as your alternate. also watching a crash in upper moreland along ellis road at bartram road. there's one in cheltenham along cheltenham at ogontz. still have construction wrapping up on the westbound turnpike near bensalem. right lane is out so just 35 miles per hour. in middletown township bucks county downed wires are blocking business one. stay up on one the soup are highway instead and one more new crash is in warwick township bucks county along mill road at york road. matt. >> thank you matt. breaking this morning the curfew in baltimore ended an hour ago at 5:00 a.m. the city has been under a virtual lockdown since 10 o'clock last night due to monday night's riots. erin o'hearn is monitoring the situation and joins us live at the big board. >> reporter: this is how last night started out. there were clearly clashes between police and rioters. the situation was brought under control fairly quickly and now there is relative calm in the city. we want to show you some of the positive images coming out of baltimore this morning that show resolve, pride and unity that so many residents have demonstrated over the past 24 hours. now, this is a man who was standing outside a local store blocking looters from coming inside. and you can see the paddle he's holding right there actually says peace on it. and if we go to this image right here, this video it shows volunteers cleaning up the day after rioters left the street in ruins saying last night that they were proud of how residents in the city answered the call to get the city back up and running. now, this was a heartwarming image a little boy handing out bottled water to officers lined up on the street. and this -- and also this man was using his own body to block rioters from provoking police. he was heard saying don't give them a reason. and we want you to listen to an exchange between a young man and a police captain as the man is voicing his frustration while the captain listens and responds with empathy. >> he asked for the paramedics three times. three times. the first time they should have took him to the paramedic. >> i agree. >> when they picked him up off the ground the man couldn't move. he couldn't move. >> i agree with everything you said. >> it's not fair captain. >> it's not fair. >> it's not. >> it's not fair. i agree. >> many community leaders say that those are the conversations that have to be had more often. now as we said the curfew has just been lifted and schools are opened today. now, we should mention that the baltimore orioles game tonight against the chicago white socks has been moved to the afternoon and will be played without any fans. so, this is really how it's going to look. it's going to be basically an empty stadium and this is believed to be the first game without fans in major league baseball history. however, members of the press will be allowed to attend but it should be an interesting game, matt. >> yes, indeed. thank you, erin. here are new pictures from the overnight from baltimore. 150 new jersey state police are now in that city. they are providing operational investigative and logistical support. "action news" was there as they left hamilton township mercer county yesterday. governor christie has made them available in baltimore for at least the next 72 hours. >> ♪♪ >> breaking this morning philadelphia police say they're looking for a man who crashed a stolen suv overnight. he took the vehicle from 52nd and woodland avenue in southwest philadelphia around 3:00 this morning. he then crashed it into a parked car a few block away at 53rd and say brook avenue. the man ran from the scene. no one was hurt. and this is also developing this morning, a home invasion robbery that targeted temple students. it happened on the 1500 block of north 13th street in north philadelphia early this morning. police say an arm robber may have entered the residence from the rear and stole cash and marijuana. no students were hurt and no arrests have been made. temple put out an alert on the crime for students on campus. >> and breaking right now new details on that police officer who was involved in a crash in the city's bustleton section. the philadelphia police cruiser hit a guardrail as that officer was responding to a robbery call that was later determined to be unfounded. the crash happened in a wooded area along krewstown road nearly a gone avenue about an hour and a half ago. the officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. an "action news" crew is headed to the scene and what's that again nicole? that's officer is from the seventh police district. again, suffered minor injuries. we'll get video and more information for you later in the broadcast. and also new this morning delaware state police are investigating an assault behind a shopping center. that happened at 11:00 last night on the 1800 block of newport gap pike in cranston heights. police say the attacker knocked a man in his 50's to the ground unconscious. he is hospitalized in critical condition. no word on a suspect or a motive. >> it is 6:07 and bud light wanted people to associate its brew with good times but a new label is sending all the wrong notes. maribel aber is live in times square. you wonder if they had many women prove read this ad. >> reporter: you would wonder, tam. good point here. bud light apologizing for a new label on its bottles the label says the beer is perfect for removing the word no from your vocabulary for the night. critics say the wording evokes concerns about an alcohol fueled rape culture. anheuser bush apologized and has stopped production of the message on the bottles choppy trading session on wall street stocks posting modest gains. futures pointing to a lower open. investors waiting for the fed reserve. uber expanding restaurant delivery service. uber eats launching in new york and chicago. all you need is an uber app and you can have food delivered in 10 minutes. the delivery service has proved popular in barcelona and los angeles. that menu the items change and they're available from select restaurants. >> okay. thank double scan shows you that we are dry as we take a look outside we are looking at bright sunshine up over the horizon at the shore and a big yellow bar going north to south. i don't know what that is. no, it's just a little cam it's an elevator, right. it's an elevator to the sky thank you very much, matt. little refraction in the lens giving you that image. going to be a bright start. as we take a look at temperatures, yeah typically cool. 51 degrees in philadelphia. still just the mid 40's in allentown and reading and the low 40's in lancaster. 40 degrees on the nose in millville, oh, my, but 52 in sea isle city. everybody can deal with these numbers considering how quickly they're going to go up and where we'll wind up later on. get the sunglasses ready not only on i-95 and 76, the pennsylvania turnpike, but anywhere else on our highways and by ways 'cause there's not much cloud cover. in allentown lots of sun some clouds developing as the day goes on. warm with a high of 74 in the lehigh valley. down the shore next to that cool ocean water little cooler 65 degrees in atlantic city, mostly sunny though. and despite the fact that it's a little cooler it's still pretty nice. in philadelphia a high of 76 this afternoon. mostly sunny. nice and warm. winds lighter than yesterday only running about seven to 14 miles per hour. and as we roll through the day, we climb quickly. 57 by 8 o'clock but 68 by 11 o'clock. and then we spend the afternoon in the 70's with a high of 74 right in there around 4 o'clock. even by 5 o'clock we'll still be holding onto the mid 70's. if you had plans to head out and mow the lawn it is that time of year. looks like it will be a good evening to do that. by 5 o'clock 75 degrees, by 7 o'clock, 72. grass should be nice and dry so hopefully you're not slipping and sliding if you have a hill you got to do. bit on the warm side but t-shirts and you get going and you can get all that done. southern storm then on thursday and friday. a coastal slow going to form off the coast and a secondary piece of energy kind of joins forces with it and the low will deepen and become a little stronger as it pushes off shore but notice how it's far to our south as it pushes off shore. tomorrow will be a little bit cooler. cloudier, maybe a spotty shower. friday a lot cooler because as that low moves off shore it spins an on shore flow right back in on us and that is going to cool us down keep us cloudy and maybe give us a few more showers on friday. let's take a look at those changing temperatures. 76 is today's high in your exclusive accuweather 7-day nice and warm, no problems. tomorrow down to 70. still a little on the mild side but there will be a lot more clouds mixing with sun just a slight chance of a spotty shower in the afternoon tomorrow. then friday is when that on shore flow really kicks in. we hold our high at just 59 degrees and there is the chance of some showers around. if the low is close enough to us down the shore you might even get a period of rain. right now we're planning it as more of just a spotty shower kind of thing and not a washout but that system is out of here in time for the weekend. on saturday milder and nice with a high of 68 degrees. it will be beautiful weather at ppl park. might need a sweatshirt but that 4 o'clock game right here on 6abc. if you're headed to the game you're picking a nice one to attend. then on sunday broad street run in the morning 50's and 60's for that. 76 in the afternoon and monday and tuesday kids we might actually hit 80 degrees. 80 right, whoever morning, matt and tam. we're going to kind of ease you into this report. as we look live at the schuylkill expressway, some building volume but overall things look pretty good along 76 this morning here by the conshohocken curve. no major delays so far. that is about where the good news ends. got a bunch of problems out there this morning. in paoli still have that downed tree along lancaster avenue right by 252. by the walgreens and the 7-eleven. and a new work zone starts today. happening during the mid days 9:00 until 3:00 today through mid june. in east town township they're going to close newtown road so darby paoli road is your better bet during the mid days with that new work zone. still have the work crews on the scene of monday's major mess in lower providence. but the good news is south park avenue has reopened. they're still out there cleaning up. not surprisingly. it was such a mess and making some repairs but you can get by this morning on south park avenue if usual headed over to 2422. have a crash by warwick square in bucks county along mill road. in bucks county middletown township close to sesame place by the buffalo wild wings peco is now on the scene of those downed wires but business one lincoln highway still blocked so use the super highway instead. construction still wrapping up on the westbound turnpike near bensalem. speeds in the 30's headed toward that. and in bustleton we still have that crash involving the police cruiser along krewstown road. stick with bustleton avenue as your alternate. meanwhile we mentioned last time around in new castle by the airport a crash with the waze app along the southbound side of 13 at 141. little icons disappear bought minor crash mostly off to the side there in the southbound direction. matt. >> thanks, matt. new here on "action news" a pennsylvania teenager is accused of trying to kill his mom because she took his iphone. police say 15-year-old joseph grutsa attacked his mom in their schuylkill county home on monday. the woman was barely breathe when did you go police arrived claiming the teen trashed the house beat her up and started to choke her with the tie from her robe. the boy's father put a stop to the attack. the teen is charged as an adult with attempted murder. >> a philadelphia charter school principal is free on bail after being charged with aggravated and simple assault. 46-year-old michael reid has a bruised eye after what police describe as a domestic incident over the weekend. reid runs the feltonville school of the arts and sciences in the 200 block of a chase. he was responding to a call for a robbery that turned out to be unfounded. the cruiser ran off into the woods here along krewstown road nearly a gone avenue. may want to stay over on bustleton avenue because you can see other police officers still out here blocking off the road way. a live shot from chopper 6hd on this wednesday morning. let's go to sky six where we've got new problems on the blue route, 476 in plymouth meeting. this is the northbound direction approaching the mid-county tolls. a new crash you see one vehicle facing the wrong direction here in the northbound lanes approaching the toll plaza. looks like that truck is also involved. no emergency crews on the scene yet. we'll keep watching this one david. >> it's got to show you down. matt 61 degrees by 9 o'clock. right now we're closer to 50. we'll zoom up in a hurry. by noon 70 degrees and then 75 by 3 o'clock with a-76 around 4:00 looks like it's going to be fairly bright all the way today and not as breezy as it was yesterday. checking the wide view, boy really clear sailing across most of the country. the southeast is going to be where you have a potential problem. in fact, the main area of concern in terms of severe weather today is up and down the state of florida on the peninsula there from jacksonville all wait down to miami where we could have thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and maybe even an isolated tornado. if you're headed to orlando you want to check with your airline to make sure there's no problems there. 72 degrees in orlando right now. all green nepal from the utter devastation continues, one father has been in anguish for days wondering if his son survived the earthquake. then while watching cnn coverage he noticed this man in the cleanup and his tattoo. he has a white t-shirt on his head. he recognized from the tattoo that it was his son shane who was alive. shane is using his military experience to help with the efforts of recovery. the nigerian armed forces say they've rescued nearly 300 girls and women in the forest. it is a known boko haram strong hold. an army spokesman says they are not the school girls abducted a year ago that made so many headlines and ignite add social media campaign to bring them home but added "we stumbled on the girls and we may find more." new york city's mass transit system is prepared to vote to ban all political advertising on its subways and buses. this comes after a judge allowed a pro israel group to display an ad with the mta that contains the phrase "hamas killing jews. ." septa lost a similar fight in philadelphia on ads that appear on buses here that were anti-muslim. eighth graders too poorly on a national exam focused on american history civics and gee frog gravy. only a quarter of students show a solid performance or better and those are the results from the latest rounds of testing known as nation's report card. there's been little improvement in the subject since the same round of testing four years ago. american airlines grounded nearly two dozen flights overnight after a glitch with the ipads that are used by pilots. the flight plans are transmitted on the
