couple of showers and storms off to our south and west. but this is what we're tracking for tomorrow. lots of activity right now across minnesota and wisconsin. this will be diving to the south and east pressing into our area and it's certainly means business tomorrow night. so, it will stay hot and humid as we get into the start of our weekend. thunderstorms will bubble up early in the day. the main complex moves in tomorrow night damaging winds and the possibility of hail is also a big concern. we'll take a closer look with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast guys. >> melissa thank you. plenty of people turn to pools to keep cool today. but at least one philadelphia pool was filled to capacity thanks to the heat. chopper6 was over the cecil b. moore pool in the brewerytown section where pool goers had to wait in line to get inside today. swimmers were allowed to enjoy the water in 30 minute intervals so everyone got a chance to cool off at least for a little bit. >> while the excessive heat drags on philadelphia is under a heat health emergency. a heat line is opened and ready to help folks in need. you can call the talk about a heat related medical issue or to request a home visit. mobile health teams are also being dispatched to anybody who calls that number. >> ♪ >> now to some developing news out of montgomery county right now. a woman was found murdered in her home and now police are trying to track down the killer. tonight they have a person of interest. "action news" reporter john rawlins live near the scene in schwenksville. john you have the latest details on this. >> reporter: that's right. well, the police left here about an hour ago but they had been here for more than 12 hours. the victim's thought to have lived in the house here behind me at least six or seven years. she apparently lived here with her grown daughter. >> we have a person of interest and i just want to stress to the community that they are safe. like i said we do have a person of interest. once the autopsy is complete, we will be able to tell the cause of death. >> reporter: police were called to this house shortly after 3 a.m. inside found dead, 54-year-old annette house. she had been stabbed. andrea martin came to place a flower outside the dead woman's home this afternoon. she told us house went out of her way to be a good neighbor. >> she was a very lovely person. i had been injured last january and she was the first person to offer to come and help me. she ran errands for us and my little dog eats homemade food and she went to the store to get him his green beans and beef want not. >> reporter: house was often seen around her neighborhood with her daughter elena mother and daughter said to be close. >> very nice people. i mean, didn't really bother you much, you know. >> they had a little dog he 82 you had to run over the yard and play with my dog and stuff and she was always very apologetic, the mother, but that's all i know about them. >> reporter: again police saying they are waiting on the results of an autopsy not clear if they'll get those results tonight or at a later time and they say they have identified and have been speaking with a person of interest in this case. live in schwenksville john rawlins channel6 "action news." monica. >> a major shakeup within the walls of the white house today. press secretary sean spicer is out. he resigned as president trump appointed anthony scaramucci new white house communications director. sources say the president did not ask spicer to resign. it was his decision. incoming press secretary sarah huckabee sanders. >> the president wanted to bring in and add new people to the team and sean felt like it would be best for that team to be able to start with a totally clean slate. >> spicer tweeted after the announcement was made "it was an honor and privilege to serve president trump's administration." spicer will step down next month. >> philadelphia police are still looking for the two men behind a deadly home invasion. one of the victims survived. but the other a man in a wheelchair was killed. it happened overnight in the 3300 block of north gratz street in the city's tioga-nicetown section. katherine scott has more tonight on the investigation. >> reporter: he was paralyzed in a shooting more than a decade ago. late last night a different shooting claimed his life. police say a 36-year-old man in a wheelchair just returned home with his 51-year-old caretaker into tioga-nicetown when two men with guns approached. >> i paid no attention and i just laid down and next time i seen police lights. >> reporter: this happened on the 3300 block of north gratz street shortly before midnight where the victim lived with his mother sister and her children. the caretaker had just helped the man up the front steps into the house. police say the suspect forced open the front door. >> the 36-year-old wheelchair bound victim was actually struggling to try to keep the door closed. that's when one of the perpetrators fired at least one shot. >> reporter: the 36-year-old man fell out of his wheelchair, was bleeding from the head, neck and chest. the other suspect opened fire as well. the caretaker was struck in his back and his leg and was on the ground outside when police arrived. the caretaker was taken to the hospital in stable condition. the other man was pronounced dead on the scene. police are looking for surveillance footage. >> the perpetrator is described as two males medium build one had a beard. they were both wearing dark colored possibly black hooded sweatshirts. they were last seen running south on the 3300 block of gratz street. >> reporter: the victim's mother and his sister and four children were upstairs when this was all going on. apparently they heard the shooting and the commotion but they didn't see anything and they were not injured. the motive for this double shooting remains under investigation. in tioga-nicetown, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. >> new at 5:00, three delaware gang members sentenced to lengthy prison terms. 19-year-old john briscoe was found guilty in march of two murders. today he got two life terms in prison but 35 years. jamir wisher and 17-year-old ray mere briscoe both pleaded guilty to different murders in february. wisher was sentenced to 25 years, briscoe got a 15 year sentence. >> ♪ >> now to new information on each system's -- o.j. simpson's final months behind bars. we're learning more about how simpson is being kept safe until his parole. abc's marci gonzalez has details tonight from nevada. >> reporter: o.j. simpson's family visiting him in prison a day after what's been dubbed the parole hearing of the century. >> i do vote to grant parole. >> thank you. thank you. people to the hospital. neighbors say they heard a loud boom and felt their houses shake about 10:30. smoke could be seen from some distance away. crews rushed to the scene and evacuated families living near modern gas sales. we know one person is in critical condition with burns right now, a second person was also rushed to the hospital but is expected to be treated and released. >> new jersey has just become the third state to raise its legal smoking age to 21. governor chris christie signed the measure into law today raising the age from 19. the restriction applies to tobacco products and electronic smoking devices. governor christie vetoed a similar measure last year but in signing today he cited a strain on the state's healthcare system caused he says by tobacco related illnesses. >> on health check at 5 o'clock tonight is dementia an inevitable consequence of getting older or can it be prevented. that's the question some researchers are trying very hard to answer. things help improve overall health so this could be an added benefit. scientists in california have an interesting new plan to help cut the population of mosquitos. it sounds counter intuitive but they plan on releasing millions of new mosquitos. those mosquitos will be sterile males. when they mate the eggs won't hatch. the project is called dee bug fresno. and we've been warning about the extreme heat and how dangerous it can be especially for seniors and for small children. even on a day that may not feel too hot for adults, for babies it can be deadly. they can't regulate their body temperature but regardless of age, kids cannot be left in a hot car for any amount of time because it can take just minutes for heat stroke to set in. experts say to avoid tragic accidents, the best league invitational championship. the event kicks off -- kicked off 90 minutes ago at the jcc in talleyville. swimmers 18 and under from 18 local pools are competing and the championships continue be showers and thunderstorms. we'll walk over to the weather center and talk about it. we have sky6 five in hd as we're down the shore in cape may it's a nice place to be this evening because you're getting that wind coming in from the south so we're getting a nice afternoon sea breeze at the coast but it is hot across inland locations. right now in philadelphia as you look at the heat index numbers, feels like 97 in philadelphia, 94 in allentown, the lehigh valley. current number in beach haven, it feels like 90. it's 96 down in cape may right now, 99 out to the west there in lancaster. so, as we go throughout the rest of tonight if you're stepping out onto the time 7:00 p.m. that temperature at 91 its partly sunny at 8 o'clock tonight with a temperature of 91. nine, 10, 11 o'clock tonight temperatures will be in the middle and upper 80's but you really want to dress and factor in the heat index number. it's going feel like anywhere from 90 to 95 degrees across philadelphia tonight. we'll go in tighter as we look at storm tracker6 live double scan radar you can see we're mostly quiet but you look off to the south and west of philadelphia. we've got a spot shower so tighter on street level with storm tracker6 in southern lancaster county you can see those showers into wakefield, to the south of kirkwood and also just to the west of route one getting closer to oxford so something to keep in mind as we go throughout the rest of the early evening hours. satellite6 along with action radar showing that you cluster off to our south. it's clipping our region. it just stays pretty cloudy for the rest of tonight but all of the attention off to the west, you can see a lot of moisture right now across minnesota and also into wisconsin. this cluster of activity will be diving to the south and east as we get into the start of our weekend. so, future tracker6 showing you 9 o'clock tomorrow morning it's mostly cloudy a couple of renegade showers bubbling up before that main cluster off to you our west approaches. you can see that into lakehurst and wilmington. 2 o'clock tomorrow morning afternoon you can see showers and storms into south jersey. the main activity gets going as we get into tomorrow night 10 o'clock you can see the rain for allentown reading and lancaster, even along the i've 95 corridor on also into south jersey. that's why the storm prediction center has placed our region in a slight risk of finding some scattered showers and storms. the biggest concern tomorrow night will be wind and also the possibility of hail. so, at the shore tomorrow, 87 degrees, you're mostly dry in the city 93. up in the poconos in at 83. the five day at 4:00 forecast showing you strong showers and storms tomorrow at 93. cloudy with showers on sunday and at 85 so we'll pull back the heat just a little bit but it comes right back on monday. it's humid with a high temperature of 90. then finally that relief arrives on tuesday with a high of >> ♪ >> hello again and here's what's happening on "action news" tonight. developing news, the white house press secretary becomes the headline. he quits his job after the president names a new communications director. we're live in washington with the latest. plus a chilling video emerges of teenagers mocking a man as he drowns in a florida lake. now his family is pushing for criminal charges to be filed. and a startling discovery by researchers when they exhume the body of a salvador dali. >> details in that developing news out of washington today where white house press secretary sean spicer is stepping down. spicer gave his notice this morning just after president trump named a new communications director. wall street financier anthony scaramucci. sarah huckabee sanders was promoted to press secretary. as for spicer he tweeted it's been an honor and a privilege to serve and when asked what he hoped to accomplish in this white house shakeup the president said this. >> make america great again. >> abc's megan hughes live in washington this evening and joins us now with the very latest on a very event full day, megan. >> reporter: brian, that's right. despite the president saying that this shakeup was all about making america great again, sources are telling us that when it comes to sean spicer's decision it was a decision he made for himself. it was not at the president's request. white house press secretary sean spicer tendering his resignation to the president tweeting he'll continue through august. this hours after president trump picks anthony scaramucci to lead his communications team. >> i think there's been at times a disconnect between the way we see the president and how much we love the president and the way some of you perhaps see the president. >> reporter: scaramucci wasting no time stepping to the podium and wishing spicer well. >> i hope he goes on to make a predominant -- tremendous amount of money. also making coming up after "action news" tonight at 6:30. >> the state department announced today it is reinstrucing travel to north korea. americans will need a special validation passport to go there. travelers can just get those passports for humanitarian reasons or other very limited circumstances. all other travel by u.s. citizens to and throughout north korea is prohibited. the ban is put in place over mounting concerns of risk of concern of detention. three israelis have been killed in clashes at a contested holy site in jerusalem. thousands of people are protesting the presence of metal detectors in olde city which is holy to both jews and muslims. the metal detectors were put there after an attack last week that left two israeli soldiers dead. today four officers were also injured when crowds began to throw stones and launch fireworks. >> we have learned now that a group of florida teens who recorded a man drowning and mocked him in a time of need will not face charges. >> you shouldn't have got in. >> better drown what the heck. >> that astonishing video captures 31-year-old jamel dunn's final moments. police still aren't sure why he went into that retention pond but a group of teens saw him and rather than call 911 they recorded dunn and made fun of him as he drowned even acknowledging he was drowning in the moment. dunn's fiancée was there five days later when his body was finally recovered. >> life could have been saved. life could have been helped. family could have got closure and he's missing and no one is saying nothing or coming forward and people knowing what happened to him it's just so disturbing, you know and we just want answers. we just want to know what happened to our loved one. that's all we want to know. >> now police did interview the five teens involved here. the chief calls their actions "utterly inhumane and cruel" but says state law does not require people to give or call for help when someone is in distress. >> hm. >> police in camden county are investigating a shooting this morning that left a person injured. chopper6 overhead as it happened about 11:00 a.m. in the 300 block of north fountain street in camden. investigators say numerous shots were fired and the victim was struck several times. not clear what led up to the shooting. no arrests so far have been made. philadelphia police have released new video of a shooting in west philadelphia earlier this month. take a look. investigators say the victim a 50-year-old man was waiting for a trolley at 62nd and lansdowne avenue when the driver of a car pulled um and pulled up and accused him of looking at his female passenger. the vehicle left and came back a few minutes later. the driver got out of the car and shot the victim once in the leg. the gunman then drove off and is still at large. >> the coast guard medevaced a woman from a charter fishing boat today. it happened near cape may. workers on board the boat saw the woman experiencing seizures and called the coast guard for help. they sent crews and were able to quickly get the woman and transport her for treatment. no word tonight on her condition. >> ♪ well, we have been telling you an accuweather alert is in effect once again and if you've been outside today for even a second you know why. it is brutally hot out there and folks are finding any way they can to cool down. but this is not the way to do it. chopper6 was over devil's pool on the wissahickon where kids were jumping off the cliff into the water. between those rocks and the unknown depth of the water this is of course an incredibly dangerous situation for these kids and many others who do this. certainly something that police want to let everyone know not to do and that we do not advise. >> absolutely not. time for there eventually i'm sure brian and monica. it's just going to take a lot of time. i'll tell you we are dealing with multiple problems this afternoon on the schuylkill expressway, the most recent of which is this accident in the westbound lanes approaching belmont avenue. you can see it off to the shoulder here. police on the scene but this just contributed to an already really nasty ride on the westbound side. 50 minutes ideally should be 15. we're nowhere close this afternoon. on the roosevelt boulevard southbound had that awful pedestrian accident earlier so the southbound outer drive remains blocked between tyson and harbison. might want to stick with caster bustleton even frankford as some possible alternates. watching a crash now in chester county on the westbound pennsylvania turnpike. just west of downingtown left lane is out of commission. and in west goshen we still have those downed wires, they've been out there for a few hours now along west chester pike. eastbound lanes blocked there where the applebee's sits on the westbound side. paoli pike or westtown road could be some alternates. if you're headed to the delaware beaches problems for you. a crash along one. speeds just in the teens there if you want to come down 13 or even 301 you might be better off. in berlin by the rite-aid the white horse pike is still blocked near jackson road. 73 could be your alternate around that. and in burlington county big jersey jams here on 295 southbound because of two separate accidents. single digit speeds. 130 or the turnpike can get you around that. crazy iloveny.com >> the co-founder of a christian theme park in kentucky created waves of anger with the lgbt community. he tweeted a picture of noah's arc lit up in that rainbow o colors saying christians need to take back the rainbow. in a blog post on answers in genesis.org he writes the rainbow was a symbol of god's promises before the lgbtq movement and will continue to be after that movement has ended. as christians we need to take the rainbow back and teach our young people its true meaning. >> i know he thinks humans have only been alive for about 2,000 years but i'm sure gay people were around before that. >> the arc once meant to hold two of every living thing is floating in an ocean of controversy. the owner says the rainbow lights are now a permanent fixture at the arc encounter there. people taking a stroll along the river seine in paris doing a double take after what appears to be a beached whale showing up on the embankment. here's what they're seeing. but this is in fact a sculpture of a beached whale created by an art collective. looks very real doesn't it. the 50 plus foot long artwork simply appeared there this morning leaving residents confused and surprised. the artist who created it say it's designed to raise awareness of the environment. >> the body of artist salvador dali was exhumed last night as part of a paternity lawsuit and researchers made a startling discovery. his trademark mustache was still complete in tact nearly 30 years later. in life he sported a gravity style. he waxed the mustache to keep it in shape. he died in 1989 at the age disabilities got to experience day camp and they got early christmas gifts thanks to a special santa's helper doing this christmas in haas in july fun. organizers have held this camp for 50 years. was our high so day four of heat wave number five continues. average for this time of the year is 87. here is satellite6 along with action radar. you can see we're dry and quiet right now, couple of spotty showers to the south of philadelphia. this cluster will fizzle out but it will provide us with more in the way of cloud cover as we go throughout tonight. we'll widen out the picture and move off to the west because we are tracking a complex of showers and storms moving across portions of the great lakes and this will produce an enhanced risk of severe weather across that region tonight. then it moves to the south and east for the start of our weekend tomorrow. future tracker6 showing you will 8 o'clock tomorrow morning mostly cloudy, a couple of renegade showers with building heat and that oppressive humidity. but the main activity moves in as we get into tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. so 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon you could see those showers pressing into philadelphia, also into south jersey and into delaware but by 10 o'clock tomorrow night you can see from allentown down to reading and lancaster along the i-95 corridor and into south jersey, we've got some heavy rain. that's why the storm prediction center has placed our area in a slight risk of finding some scattered showers and storms. by 11:00 a.m. on sunday, the atmosphere is pretty much exhausted by that point. the main activity moves in tomorrow night. what to expect with the complex of activity that we are tracking. lightning, a high concern with that. high concern for downpours and strong winds. large hail a moderate concern of finding that and an isolated tornado is likely but it will be on the low side. so at the shore tomorrow, warm and humid, 87. cloudy and showers around on sunday with a temperature in at 84. here's the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. strong storms tomorrow, a high of 93. we'll break that that heat by sunday a high up to 85 degrees. on monday the humidity comes back, a high in at 90. the relief arrives on tuesday. that feels good. a high of 83. we're comfortable still on wednesday with a high of 85 and the upper 80's return as we excessive heat warning. today's mission was all about finding ways to beat the heat. here at lake candle swim club and campground in washington township new jersey folks did just that. and drone6 is live right now over the schuylkill riverton night. some folks tried to seek relief on the water. the heat warning is in effect until 8:00 p.m. "action news" reporter bob brooks has more on how folks of heat wave number five. it started on tuesday with a high of 91 wednesday at 96. yesterday's high 95 and today in philadelphia we maxed out at 93. so, you look at the heat index numbers across the region. still pretty oppressive. it feels like 96 in philadelphia. 100 in dover, 90 degrees the heat index value in cape may. are heat index numbers anywhere from the upper 90's to close to 100
