arrested a man suspected of taking part in tuesday's deadly attacks this as to that military officials announce that one of isis's top leaders has been killed in syria. >> now we've taken out the leader who oversees all the funding for isil's operations hurting their ability to pay fighters and hire recruits. >> he is reportedly the second in command for the extremist organization and officials say his death is a big setback for the group can which has claimed responsibility for this week's bombing in belgium. steve nanas has more from that washington. >> reporter: a shootout in the belgian district of shar beck has red to the arrest of a man officials say is linked to tuesday's deadly terror attacks in brussels. witnesses say 33 heard two explosions then governor. the person taken into custody was wounded according to the local mayor. police have been focused on this town since thursday when they raided a nearby apartment and found chemicals and an isis flag. secretary of state john kerry said friday more attacks could be in the works. >> we know that there are foreign fighters who have returned from syria over the span of about five years. that is the reason for people being vigilant and alert and that's the reason for travel advisories and restraint. >> reporter: the pentagon has confirmed that the number two leader of isis has been killed. >> we are systemically eliminating isil's cabinet. >> reporter: abd ar-rahman was next in line to control day to day operations. >> the removal of this isil leader will hamper the organization's capital beltway o conduct operations inside and outside of syria. as the war on isis rages on, the victims from tuesday's attacks struckd are to your from the physical and emotional wounds. american survivor mason tour through latin america. air force one touched down this morning with the first family on board. next week the president is scheduled to attend a nuclear security summit in the nation's capitol and there he'll discuss plans with dozens of world leaders about the next steps in the fight against isis. >> from our delaware news room now two people were arrested after police say they robbed a convenience store in wilmington. police responded to the robbery call just after 1:00 this afternoon at the 7-eleven in the 500 block of green hill avenue. police say there was a brief foot chase. they were able to capture the two suspects. meantime police are looking for three juveniles following a shooting last night at an atlantic city casino. police say they got a call shortly after 11:00 for shots fired on the 47th floor of the taj mahal hotel and casino. a short time later police say two 16-year-olds showed up in a medical center with gun shot wounds. well, police found a 17-year-old with a gun and arrested him but it's not clear yet if he is connected to the casino shooting. the two victims are expected to be okay. police in philadelphia say they do not plan on charging a man who stole a car after he was shot. police say the man was shot around 11:30 last night in the 1300 block of south 16th street in the point breeze section of the city. well, after being shot, police say he jumped into a parked car that had its motor running and drove off. police eventually found the driver and took him to the hospital. >> at the big board now with a final farewell for a delaware county native who was killed in the line of duty in maryland. today colleagues and loved ones said their goodbyes to officer jacai colson. >> ♪ colson was killed in a shootout near a police station just outside of washington, d.c. earlier this month. officials are calling it a case of mistaken identity. his funeral service was originally going to be private but the police department he worked for in maryland saw such an outpouring of support they decided to open it up to the public. today colson's mother remembered his big smile and his dedication to protecting others. >> we're at peace. jacai is calm and i know that infectious smile that he had he's grinning down and he's saying yeah, mom, that's my mom. >> colson a native of boothwyn went to chichester high school. he had worked for the prince george's county police department for four years. he'll be buried in delaware county during a private ceremony. sharrie. >> all right, rick. tonight march madness comes to philadelphia. some of the best teams in college basketball are in town hoping to secure a spot in the elite eight and on to the final four. north carolina indiana notre dame and wisconsin will face off tonight at the wells fargo center. and after sunday only one team will remain. and the competition is bringing a business boom to philadelphia. college basketball fans from around the country have flocked to the city to catch a glimpse of the sweet 16 and the elite eight action. and that's expected to bring more than $18 million to the local economy. and visitors that we spoke with said they've got a full day out on the town planned. >> we're told there's a special cheesesteak spot we've got to investigate. >> i want to see all of your historical sites and then i want to go to the game. >> notre dame and wisconsin tip off tonight at 7:27. north carolina and indiana will take to the floor after the conclusion of that game. >> should be fun. >> uh-huh. >> meantime the villanova wildcats are one win away from a trip to the final four. it would be their first if i think four appearance since 2009. first they'll have to get past the top seeded kansas jayhawks. jeff skversky is traveling with the team. he's live in louisville and jeff you spoke with them less than an hour ago as they prepare for that elite eight showdown. >> reporter: it's just another game, right, that's what the villanova wildcats are saying. they are in the elite eight for the first time in seven years but villanova star ryan arcidiacono says their goal is not to just get here it is to win the entire tournament. standing in their way, number one overall seed, kansas. villanova will take on kansas tomorrow night here in louisville at 8:49. what a matchup this will be. it is arguably the hottest two teams in the tournament. villanova shooting a whopping 60 percent, the best by a tournament team in 22 years. kansas, by the way, has won 17 straight. they're the number one overall seed in the country. can you wait for the this matchup in the elite eight? >> it's a great feeling for all of us. i know woar all extremely humbled and blessed to be here and it just goes to we've been working all year just playing villanova basketball for 40 minutes. >> it's my ultimate goal to get to the elite eight. we're trying to win it all. to be able to do that we play one game at a time and focus on the next we do have a rush hour despite the fact that some people had off work today. we also have several accidents in the suburbs including one by the old granite run mall on baltimore pike. one in upper chichester along lark ken road at bethel road. bucks county by the trevose fire company an accident along street road near rail avenue. crossing into new jersey in berlin there's a accident along egg harbor road at the white horse pike by rocco's collision. might need to call bon pon rocco's services. absecon a vehicle ran off the roadway into the marsh along route 30 absecon boulevard westbound approaching delilah road. still have that crash in maurice river township blocking off 49 so delsea drive is an alternate in that neck of the woods. we'll check it again rick and sharrie in the next awards. that and much more when "action news" comes right back. >> ♪ >> flight attendant who reportedly tried to smuggle al suitcase full of cocaine onto a plane will not be getting out of jail. marsha reynolds appeared in court today one week after police say they found nearly 70 pounds of cocaine in her suitcase. last friday after she was chosen for a random t.s.a. screening it's a los angeles international airport she ditched her high heels and took off running. reynolds turned herself in earlier this week in new york city. she's set to be center back to california next month. >> from our delaware news room tonight insurance companies in the first state are now banned from limiting healthcare coverage for transgender individuals. that means private insurers cannot deny cancel or refuse to issue plans because of a person's gender identity. companies will also not be allowed to impose different premiums on transgendered people. the policy includes anyone under going a gender transition. delaware is the 15th state in the country to ban such limits. >> christians around the delaware valley can continue to celebrate holy week and today is good friday, a day when many remember the crucifixion of jesus christ. >> ♪ >> the action cam was at great saint matthew baptist church in philadelphia's nicetown section for this morning's good friday service. many will gather again on sunday can which is easter for a sunrise service in south philadelphia. in wilmington, worshipers celebrated good friday with a way of the cross march also known as the stations of the cross. the procession commemorates the days before jesus was crucified. >> and holy week of course ends with easter sunday. at one center city store helping people get ready for the big day. the action cam was at goren brothers hat shop on walnut street one of the few hat shops remaining in the area. the owners have been offering up one of a kind hats for anyone looking for a special ensemble on easter. two of america's recently recognized military combat heroes were honored today in wilmington. the names of melvin morris and henry johnson were added to the nationally recognized african-american medal of honor monument in brandywine pike. morris received the medal of honor from president barack obama in 2014 and last summer johnson was awarded the medal of honor in a posthumous ceremony at the white house. both were recognized for saving men's lives. >> and today you're recognizing me and i'm overwhelmed. i'm overjoyed. i'm thankful. i mean, i just -- there's not enough words to express myself. >> melvin morris was a staff sergeant during the vietnam war. johnson fought in world war i and was buried in arlington national cemetery. >> salute to them. still to come on "action news at 5:00 new guidelines from the cdc for women diagnosed with zika virus. >> also with easter just around the corner if you're worried about any extra calories, well ali gorman has ways to make that easter basket a little healthier when "action news" comes right back. >> health check tonight. government health officials have issued new recommendations regarding the zika virus. >> this new advice focuses on what couples need to know if they're planning a pregnancy. health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman joins us from the big board to explain. hi, ali. >> reporter: hi guys. pregnant women are the top priority because there is strong evidence zika virus can cause a serious birth defect. but it's important to note there are healthy babies being born in zika affected areas. still these new recommendations err on the side of caution. cdc officials say for women diagnosed with zika or zika symptoms or just possible exposure they should wait at least eight weeks before trying to get pregnant. men should use condoms for at least six months after symptoms or possible exposure while traveling to a zika affected area. now in the continental u.s. there have been about 270 cases all were acquired abroad and a few through sexual transmission. in other news if you're allergic to tree pollen or mold you may be suffering symptoms this weekends. the asthma center in center city is reporting tree pollen at very high and mold at the high level. if you take medication, do so before symptoms start and do what you can to limit your exposure to pollen. keep the windows up in your home and car, wash your layer after being out-- hair after being outside and wipe off your pets when they come inside. and finally today, don't shoot the messenger but if you're trying to promote healthy eating, easter baskets don't have to be filled with candy and chocolate bunnies. >> yes, they do. >> reporter: registered dietitian lindsey malone has some other ideas for older kids she says you can give scratch off lottery tickets gift cards or small games. younger kids will like bounce see balls side walk chalk bubbles and removablely tattoos. the idea rick is not to eliminate all sweets but shift the focus off of food or at least give healthier options. you can add fruit nuts and when it comes to chocolates. >> dark chocolate is always the first thing that comes to my mind and when looking for a good dark clock late you want something that is 60 percent cocoa solid or greater reporter: see you still get some chocolate. this will help parents, too, because often it is the when "action news" comes right back. >> time for accuweather at the "action news" big board tonight. >> all right, meteorologist melissa magee is in for cecily tynan. looking ahead to that holiday forecast, melissa. >> yeah, sharrie and rick and skies are already starting to clear out across the delaware and lehigh valleys so an indication of what's to come for the start of our easter weekend. so far in philadelphia today coming in at 73. 70 in trenton. a little cooler to the north and west. just the lower 60's from allentown down to reading and lancaster because there you are dealing with a northerly wind and that northerly wind will help to dry out the atmosphere but also cool things down. 68 in dover and at the coast at this hour coming in at 67 in atlantic city. here is satellite6 along with action radar. we had some showers around earlier today. those showers are starting to move on off to our east but you notice back to the west some clearing skies on the way and this will be the case as we go throughout the rest of tonight and during the overnight hours. in fact the call from accuweather over the next 12 hours, stars take over and it turns cooler. we'll jump down to 34 in allentown, 35 in reading, 42 in philadelphia for the overnight low. at the coast in cape may coming in at 44 and 41 the low in dover. so, for the start of our weekend on saturday in center city sunshine and includes, it's a nice afternoon. al bee eight little cooler. today we were in the lower 70's. right now and as we get into saturday we'll have a temperature around 60 degrees but if your destination tomorrow takes you north and west in that 95 corridor the lehigh valley plenty of sunshine although cooler with a temperature and a high tomorrow at 59 degrees. and along the coast you'll have a nice mixture of sunshine and clouds with high pressure taking over. you've got that northeasterly wind at seven to 14 miles per hour so a touch cooler at our shore communities in comparison to inland locations with a high temperature at 53. here's the setup as we get into saturday night and into sunday for easter. 7:30 in the morning future tracker6 showing you we've got a lot of cloud cover moving in thanks to a north and northeasterly wind as high pressure sets up shop across the region. that's something to keep in mind if you are attending sunrise services early on easter sunday. so we've got you covered for easter morning. it's a bit of a chilly start. grab an extra jacket. temperature of 41. 43 at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. the number at 46. we'll start to see those clouds break apart at 10:00 a.m., a temperature of 48 and 50 at 11:00 a.m. the five day at 5:00 slowing you not a bad start for our saturday. not as warm, still nice at 60 degrees. easter more clouds in the morning, then some sunny breaks by the afternoon and at 62. 63 with rain around and thunderstorms on monday. then back into the 50's and 60's as we get into tuesday and wednesday guys. we've got more focus of the republican race for president is on a supermarket tabloid story alleging infidelity. the report has cruz pointing a finger at trump and trump doing something he rarely does, keeping quiet. abc's lauren lister joins us live with more on this story. lauren. >> reporter: you know, sharrie, it was that digital ad attacking trump that started one of the most bizarre vitriolic and personal weeks of the presidential campaign and we've now learned it cost just $300 to make. >> ♪ >> reporter: ted cruz has spent the last few days on the campaign trail telling donald trump to stay away from his wife. >> donald you're a sniveling coward and leave heidi alone. real men don't bully women. she is way out of his league. >> reporter: cruz responding to this trump retweet an unflattering photograph of heidi cruz flex to a glamour shot of melan ya' trump. and an earlier tweet be careful lying ted or i'll spill the beans on your wife. >> cruz insists had nothing to do with this ad that trump has continued to blame his opponent addressing it again on twitter thursday. i didn't start the fight, he d he knew the pac was putting it out and in the latest sign of how deeply personal this gop race has become, on friday ted cruz fiercely denied a national inquirer report on rumors that cruise had engaged in multiple marital infidelities. >> this national inquirer story is garbage. it is complete and utter lies. it is a tabloid smear and it is a smear that has come from donald trump and his henchmen. >> they have found new and even shocking ways to go after each other. traditionally areas that have been utterly off limits in the past are no longer off limits. >> reporter: donald trump says he has not read the national inquirer article. he doesn't know anything about area next week. she's scheduled to make an appearance in haddon heights on wednesday. new jersey's primary is june 7th. police broke up a house party in bucks county early this morning where it's believed under aged drinking was taking place. it happened at a house on the 200 block of cress drive in east rockhill township. officers responded to a noise complaint there that at 1:30 in the morning. police found several teenagers inside. two of them who appeared to be intoxicated were taken to the hospital as a precaution. no word yet on any charges. >> a montgomery county man is under arrest tonight for animal cruelty after his dog was found dump need upper dublin township. police say charles mccafferty left his dead dog in a cage on the side of the road in willow grove. investigators say the puppy which was between six months and a year old had been tortured and was severely under weight. a philadelphia police officers was injured after chasing after a s. it happened around 9:30 this morning in west philadelphia. the officer responded to a call for a domestic disturbance on north marcos street in aspen. one of the suspects took off. the officer ran after him. he managed to catch up with him but while making the arrest the officer injured his arm. he's expected to be okay. >> christians took time to remember the death of jesus christ at good friday services today in philadelphia. >> ♪ the penn presbyterian church in center city held a special plan to time mass. parishioners sang hymns and offered prayers in anticipation of easter sunday. west kensington ministry observed this holy day through the eyes of artists in north philadelphia. members held their seventh annual stations of the cross march representing jesus' final days. at norris cross park the procession paused at different artist's renderings of each station. and overthousands of christian pilgrims took part in a traditional way of the cross through the narrow streets of olde city. some carried crosses on their backs as they followed in footsteps of jesus christ. the tradition traces back to the route walked by jesus that led to his crucifixion and death. there are 14 stations along the route marking an event that bee fell jesus on his final walk. the final five stations along the route are inside of a church that is built over the area where christians believe jesus was crucified and laid to rest and finally resurrected on easter sunday. >> if you're looking for a fun place to spend time during spring break or perhaps the holiday weekend, you might want to check out got here a little bitting a, got on a big rollercoaster did a couple kiddie rides and on to the next one. >> reporter: this group from delran was thrilled to be hitting the rides instead of the books. >> all the homework and stuff, it's like stressing a little bit i guess. >> reporter: this is far away from homework isn't it. >> yes. >> the excitement of going up and then like floating up to falling down to going down on the ride. >> reporter: you like that. >> uh-huh. >> reporter: the park is putting the finishing touches on its 14th rollercoaster called the joker due to open memorial day weekend at 12 stories high, this animation shows how the free flying coaster will turn riders upside down. >> you're going to be flipping head over heels at least six times as you go up and down the dips and dives of this coaster. it's going to be crazy. >> reporter: if the coasters are too much you can check out these adorable animal cubs a lion named sewer rea tiger called glad ya' and this sweet bear called bailey. >> bailey was born on january 12th and at 1st the mom was taking care of her but then rejected her. now she's being hand raised by the vets here at the park. i'll tell was, bailey makes quite a racket. >> that's a very natural sign that bear cubs will make and the suck ling in natural too. even though it looked like she might have been happening guess sieve that is completely natural for bear cubs. >> reporter: the park is opened from 10:30 phil 8:00 until april 3rd. in jackson nora muchanic channel6 "action news. >> nora survived that. >> got to grin and bear a lot to say and we have a lot to say about the traffic this afternoon because it's a bit of a bear as well rick and sharrie. we've got this police activity on the ramp from 95 northbound to woodhaven road westbound really slowing us down in the northbound lanes of 95 from academy up to this point at woodhaven where police activity takes outer the right lane on the off ramp. slow speeds northbound at the girard point bridge as people begin head to the wells fargo center for the big basketball games tonight and in darby there's a crash at fourth and main. that's giving us some delays on septa's route 11 trolley coming eastbound so expect that if you ride the trolleys. in east falls of course the falls bridge has reopened. i saw the crews out there today removing some of the detour signs so that's good news in east falls but not such good news in south coventry where there's a fuel spill this afternoon along 100 at 23 there by burrito's pueblo. a crash in middletown delaware mostly blocking off 299, mall pit road a better bet. in mercer county an overturned vehicle on one northbound past 95 and 295 couple lanes blocked there. rick and sharrie, have a great easter. >> you, too. midnight tuesday. her body was found last night near a river. an autopsy is set for today to try and find out how she died. a 22-year-old man is in custody but he has not been charged and he's not talking. prosecutors in utah have decided to drop domestic violence charges against olympic golds medal skier picabo street. street is accused of throwing her 76-year-old father down the stairs and locking him in a basement during a fight back in december. her attorney says her father was combative and she was only defending herself. street says she was the one who called police looking for help with her father. prosecutors say the matter should be sent to the state office that deals with cases of abuse of vulnerable adults. >> major corporate leaders are lining up to denounce a bill that some say legalizes discrimination against gays and lesbians in north carolina. tonight facebook and apple have joined the chorus of companies going against that new law. the two technology giants both have data processing complexes in north carolina. facebook issued a statement saying it opposes discrimination while apple says its stores are opened to everyone regardless of who they are or who they love. on wednesday, state lawmakers voided an ordinance that offered protections against discrimination. >> all right. time for sports. march madness and villanova now that they've won last night they arrested a man suspected of taking part in tuesday's deadly attacks this as to that military officials announce that one of isis's top leaders has been killed in syria. >> now we've taken out the leader who oversees all the funding for isil's operations hurting their ability to pay fighters and hire recruits. >> he is reportedly the second in command for the extremist organization and officials say his death is a big setback for the group can which has claimed responsibility for this week's bombing in belgium. steve nanas has more from that washington. >> reporter: a shootout in the belgian district of shar beck has red to the arrest of a man officials say is linked to tuesday's deadly terror attacks in brussels. witnesses say 33 heard two explosions then governor. the person taken into custody was wounded according to the local mayor. police have been focused on this town since thursday when they raided a nearby apartment and found chemicals and an isis flag. secretary of state john kerry said friday more attacks could be in the works. >> we know that there are foreign fighters who have returned from syria over the span of about five years. that is the reason for people being vigilant and alert and that's the reason for travel advisories and restraint. >> reporter: the pentagon has confirmed that the number two leader of isis has been killed. >> we are systemically eliminating isil's cabinet. >> reporter: abd ar-rahman was next in line to control day to day operations. >> the removal of this isil leader will hamper the organization's capital beltway o conduct operations inside and outside of syria. as the war on isis rages on, the victims from tuesday's attacks struckd are to your from the physical and emotional wounds. american survivor mason tour through latin america. air force one touched down this morning with the first family on board. next week the president is scheduled to attend a nuclear security summit in the nation's capitol and there he'll discuss plans with dozens of world leaders about the next steps in the fight against isis. >> from our delaware news room now two people were arrested after police say they robbed a convenience store in wilmington. police responded to the robbery call just after 1:00 this afternoon at the 7-eleven in the 500 block of green hill avenue. police say there was a brief foot chase. they were able to capture the two suspects. meantime police are looking for three juveniles following a shooting last night at an atlantic city casino. police say they got a call shortly after 11:00 for shots fired on the 47th floor of the taj mahal hotel and casino. a short time later police say two 16-year-olds showed up in a medical center with gun shot wounds. well, police found a 17-year-old with a gun and arrested him but it's not clear yet if he is connected to the casino shooting. the two victims are expected to be okay. police in philadelphia say they do not plan on charging a man who stole a car after he was shot. police say the man was shot around 11:30 last night in the 1300 block of south 16th street in the point breeze section of the city. well, after being shot, police say he jumped into a parked car that had its motor running and drove off. police eventually found the driver and took him to the hospital. >> at the big board now with a final farewell for a delaware county native who was killed in the line of duty in maryland. today colleagues and loved ones said their goodbyes to officer jacai colson. >> ♪ colson was killed in a shootout near a police station just outside of washington, d.c. earlier this month. officials are calling it a case of mistaken identity. his funeral service was originally going to be private but the police department he worked for in maryland saw such an outpouring of support they decided to open it up to the public. today colson's mother remembered his big smile and his dedication to protecting others. >> we're at peace. jacai is calm and i know that infectious smile that he had he's grinning down and he's saying yeah, mom, that's my mom. >> colson a native of boothwyn went to chichester high school. he had worked for the prince george's county police department for four years. he'll be buried in delaware county during a private ceremony. sharrie. >> all right, rick. tonight march madness comes to philadelphia. some of the best teams in college basketball are in town hoping to secure a spot in the elite eight and on to the final four. north carolina indiana notre dame and wisconsin will face off tonight at the wells fargo center. and after sunday only one team will remain. and the competition is bringing a business boom to philadelphia. college basketball fans from around the country have flocked to the city to catch a glimpse of the sweet 16 and the elite eight action. and that's expected to bring more than $18 million to the local economy. and visitors that we spoke with said they've got a full day out on the town planned. >> we're told there's a special cheesesteak spot we've got to investigate. >> i want to see all of your historical sites and then i want to go to the game. >> notre dame and wisconsin tip off tonight at 7:27. north carolina and indiana will take to the floor after the conclusion of that game. >> should be fun. >> uh-huh. >> meantime the villanova wildcats are one win away from a trip to the final four. it would be their first if i think four appearance since 2009. first they'll have to get past the top seeded kansas jayhawks. jeff skversky is traveling with the team. he's live in louisville and jeff you spoke with them less than an hour ago as they prepare for that elite eight showdown. >> reporter: it's just another game, right, that's what the villanova wildcats are saying. they are in the elite eight for the first time in seven years but villanova star ryan arcidiacono says their goal is not to just get here it is to win the entire tournament. standing in their way, number one overall seed, kansas. villanova will take on kansas tomorrow night here in louisville at 8:49. what a matchup this will be. it is arguably the hottest two teams in the tournament. villanova shooting a whopping 60 percent, the best by a tournament team in 22 years. kansas, by the way, has won 17 straight. they're the number one overall seed in the country. can you wait for the this matchup in the elite eight? >> it's a great feeling for all of us. i know woar all extremely humbled and blessed to be here and it just goes to we've been working all year just playing villanova basketball for 40 minutes. >> it's my ultimate goal to get to the elite eight. we're trying to win it all. to be able to do that we play one game at a time and focus on the next we do have a rush hour despite the fact that some people had off work today. we also have several accidents in the suburbs including one by the old granite run mall on baltimore pike. one in upper chichester along lark ken road at bethel road. bucks county by the trevose fire company an accident along street road near rail avenue. crossing into new jersey in berlin there's a accident along egg harbor road at the white horse pike by rocco's collision. might need to call bon pon rocco's services. absecon a vehicle ran off the roadway into the marsh along route 30 absecon boulevard westbound approaching delilah road. still have that crash in maurice river township blocking off 49 so delsea drive is an alternate in that neck of the woods. we'll check it again rick and sharrie in the next awards. that and much more when "action news" comes right back. >> ♪ >> flight attendant who reportedly tried to smuggle al suitcase full of cocaine onto a plane will not be getting out of jail. marsha reynolds appeared in court today one week after police say they found nearly 70 pounds of cocaine in her suitcase. last friday after she was chosen for a random t.s.a. screening it's a los angeles international airport she ditched her high heels and took off running. reynolds turned herself in earlier this week in new york city. she's set to be center back to california next month. >> from our delaware news room tonight insurance companies in the first state are now banned from limiting healthcare coverage for transgender individuals. that means private insurers cannot deny cancel or refuse to issue plans because of a person's gender identity. companies will also not be allowed to impose different premiums on transgendered people. the policy includes anyone under going a gender transition. delaware is the 15th state in the country to ban such limits. >> christians around the delaware valley can continue to celebrate holy week and today is good friday, a day when many again on sunday can which is easter for a sunrise service in south philadelphia. in wilmington, worshipers celebrated good friday with a way of the cross march also known as the stations of the cross. the procession commemorates the days before jesus was crucified. >> and holy week of course ends with easter sunday. at one center city store helping people get ready for the big day. the action cam was at goren brothers hat shop on walnut street one of the few hat shops remaining in the area. the owners have been offering up one of a kind hats for anyone looking for a special ensemble on easter. two of america's recently recognized military combat heroes were honored today in wilmington. the names of melvin morris and henry johnson were added to the nationally recognized african-american medal of honor monument in brandywine pike. morris received the medal of honor from president barack obama in 2014 and last summer johnson was awarded the medal of honor in a posthumous ceremony at the white house. both were recognized for saving men's lives. >> and today you're recognizing me and i'm overwhelmed. i'm overjoyed. i'm thankful. i mean, i just -- there's not enough words to express myself. >> melvin morris was a staff sergeant during the vietnam war. johnson fought in world war i and was buried in arlington national cemetery. >> salute to them. still to come on "action news at 5:00 new guidelines from the cdc for women diagnosed with zika virus. >> also with easter just around the corner if you're worried about any extra calories, well ali gorman has ways to make that easter basket a little healthier when "action news" comes right back. >> health check tonight. government health officials have issued new recommendations regarding the zika virus. >> this new advice focuses on what couples need to know if they're planning a pregnancy. health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman joins us from the big board to explain. hi, ali. >> reporter: hi guys. pregnant women are the top priority because there is strong evidence zika virus can cause a serious birth defect. but it's important to note there are healthy babies being born in zika affected areas. still these new recommendations err on the side of caution. cdc officials say for women diagnosed with zika or zika symptoms or just possible exposure they should wait at least eight weeks before trying to get pregnant. men should use condoms for at least six months after symptoms or possible exposure while traveling to a zika affected area. now in the continental u.s. there have been about 270 cases all were acquired abroad and a few through sexual transmission. in other news if you're allergic to tree pollen or mold you may be suffering symptoms this weekends. the asthma center in center city is reporting tree pollen at very high and mold at the high level. if you take medication, do so before symptoms start and do what you can to limit your exposure to pollen. keep the windows up in your home and car, wash your layer after being out-- hair after being outside and wipe off your pets when they come inside. and finally today, don't shoot the messenger but if you're trying to promote healthy eating, easter baskets don't have to be filled with candy and chocolate bunnies. >> yes, they do. >> reporter: registered dietitian lindsey malone has some other ideas for older kids she says you can give scratch off lottery tickets gift cards or small games. younger kids will like bounce see balls side walk chalk bubbles and removablely tattoos. the idea rick is not to eliminate all sweets but shift the focus off of food or at least give healthier options. you can add fruit nuts and when it comes to chocolates. >> dark chocolate is always the first thing that comes to my mind and when looking for a good dark clock late you want something that is 60 percent cocoa solid or greater reporter: see you still get some chocolate. this will help parents, too, because often it is the forecast, melissa. >> yeah, sharrie and rick and skies are already starting to clear out across the delaware and lehigh valleys so an indication of what's to come for the start of our easter weekend. so far in philadelphia today coming in at 73. 70 in trenton. a little cooler to the north and west. just the lower 60's from allentown down to reading and lancaster because there you are dealing with a northerly wind and that northerly wind will help to dry out the atmosphere but also cool things down. 68 in dover and at the coast at this hour coming in at 67 in atlantic city. here is satellite6 along with action radar. we had some showers around earlier today. those showers are starting to move on off to our east but you notice back to the west some clearing skies on the way and this will be the case as we go throughout the rest of tonight and during the overnight hours. in fact the call from accuweather over the next 12 hours, stars take over and it turns cooler. we'll jump down to 34 in allentown, 35 in reading, 42 in philadelphia for the overnight low. at the coast in cape may coming in at 44 and 41 the low in dover. so, for the start of our weekend on saturday in center city sunshine and includes, it's a nice afternoon. al bee eight little cooler. today we were in the lower 70's. right now and as we get into saturday we'll have a temperature around 60 degrees but if your destination tomorrow takes you north and west in that 95 corridor the lehigh valley plenty of sunshine although cooler with a temperature and a high tomorrow at 59 degrees. and along the coast you'll have a nice mixture of sunshine and clouds with high pressure taking over. you've got that northeasterly wind at seven to 14 miles per hour so a touch cooler at our shore communities in comparison to inland locations with a high temperature at 53. here's the setup as we get into saturday night and into sunday for easter. 7:30 in the morning future tracker6 showing you we've got a lot of cloud cover moving in thanks to a north and northeasterly wind as high pressure sets up shop across the region. that's something to keep in mind if you are attending sunrise services early on easter sunday. so we've got you covered for easter morning. it's a bit of a chilly start. grab an extra jacket. temperature of 41. 43 at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. the number at 46. we'll start to see those clouds break apart at 10:00 a.m., a temperature of 48 and 50 at 11:00 a.m. the five day at 5:00 slowing you not a bad start for our saturday. not as warm, still nice at 60 degrees. easter more clouds in the morning, then some sunny breaks by the afternoon and at 62. 63 with rain around and thunderstorms on monday. then back into the 50's and 60's as we get into tuesday and wednesday guys. we've got more personal this gop race has become, on friday ted cruz fiercely denied a national inquirer report on rumors that cruise had engaged in multiple marital infidelities. >> this national inquirer story is garbage. it is complete and utter lies. it is a tabloid smear and it is a smear that has come from donald trump and his henchmen. >> they have found new and even shocking ways to go after each other. area next week. she's scheduled to make an appearance in haddon heights on wednesday. new jersey's primary is june 7th. police broke up a house party in bucks county early this morning where it's believed under aged drinking was taking place. it happened at a house on the 200 block of cress drive in east rockhill township. officers responded to a noise complaint there that at 1:30 in the morning. police found several teenagers inside. two of them who appeared to be intoxicated were taken to the hospital as a precaution. no word yet on any charges. >> a montgomery county man is under arrest tonight for animal cruelty after his dog was found dump need upper dublin township. police say charles mccafferty left his dead dog in a cage on the side of the road in willow grove. investigators say the puppy which was between six months and a year old had been tortured and was severely under weight. a philadelphia police officers was injured after chasing after a s. it happened around 9:30 this morning in west philadelphia. the officer responded to a call for a domestic disturbance on north marcos street in aspen. one of the suspects took off. the officer ran after him. he managed to catch up with him but while making the arrest the officer injured his arm. he's expected to be okay. >> christians took time to remember the death of jesus christ at good friday services today in philadelphia. >> ♪ the penn presbyterian church in center city held a special plan to time mass. parishioners sang hymns and offered prayers in anticipation of easter sunday. west kensington ministry observed this holy day through the eyes of artists in north philadelphia. members held their seventh annual stations of the cross march representing jesus' final days. at norris cross park the procession paused at different artist's renderings of each station. and overthousands of christian pilgrims took part in a traditional way of the cross through the narrow streets of olde city. some carried crosses on their backs as they followed in footsteps of jesus christ. the tradition traces back to the route walked by jesus that led to his crucifixion and death. there are 14 stations along the route marking an event that bee fell jesus on his final walk. the final five stations along the route are inside of a church that is built over the area where christians believe jesus was crucified and laid to rest and finally resurrected on easter sunday. >> if you're looking for a fun place to spend time during spring break or perhaps the holiday weekend, you might want to check out got here a little bitting a, got on a big rollercoaster did a couple kiddie rides and on to the next one. >> reporter: this group from delran was thrilled to be hitting the rides instead of the books. >> all the homework and stuff, it's like stressing a little bit i guess. >> reporter: this is far away from homework isn't it. >> yes. >> the excitement of going up and then like floating up to falling down to going down on the ride. >> reporter: you like that. >> uh-huh. >> reporter: the park is putting the finishing touches on its 14th rollercoaster called the joker due to open memorial day weekend at 12 stories high, this animation shows how the free flying coaster will turn riders upside down. >> you're going to be flipping head over heels at least six times as you go up and down the dips and dives of this coaster. it's going to be crazy. >> reporter: if the coasters are too much you can check out these adorable animal cubs a lion named sewer rea tiger called glad ya' and this sweet bear called bailey. >> bailey was born on january 12th and at 1st the mom was taking care of her but then rejected her. now she's being hand raised by the vets here at the park. i'll tell was, bailey makes quite a racket. >> that's a very natural sign that bear cubs will make and the suck ling in natural too. even though it looked like she might have been happening guess sieve that is road westbound really slowing us down in the northbound lanes of 95 from academy up to this point at woodhaven where police activity takes outer the right lane on the off ramp. slow speeds northbound at the girard point bridge as people begin head to the wells fargo center for the big basketball games tonight and in darby there's a crash at fourth and main. that's giving us some delays on septa's route 11 trolley coming eastbound so expect that if you ride the trolleys. in east falls of course the falls bridge has reopened. i saw the crews out there today removing some of the detour signs so that's good news in east falls but not such good news in south coventry where there's a fuel spill this afternoon along 100 at 23 there by burrito's pueblo. a crash in middletown delaware mostly blocking off 299, mall pit road a better bet. in mercer county an overturned vehicle on one northbound past 95 and 295 couple lanes blocked there. rick and sharrie, have a great easter. >> you, too. because it's your turn. >> a man has been taken into custody in connection with the death of a toddler in understand in. the little girl shea lynn ammerman went missing from her father's home around midnight tuesday. her body was found last night near a river. an autopsy is set for today to try and find out how she died. a 22-year-old man is in custody but he has not been charged and he's not talking. prosecutors in utah have decided to drop domestic violence charges against olympic golds medal skier picabo street. street is accused of throwing her 76-year-old father down the stairs and locking him in a basement during a fight back in december. her attorney says her father was combative and she was only defending herself. street says she was the one who called police looking for help with her father. prosecutors say the matter should be sent to the state office that deals with cases of abuse of vulnerable adults. >> major corporate leaders are lining up to denounce a bill that some say legalizes discrimination against gays and lesbians in north carolina. tonight facebook and apple have joined the chorus of companies going against that new law. the two technology giants both have data processing complexes in north carolina. facebook issued a statement saying it opposes discrimination while apple says its stores are opened to everyone regardless of who they are or who they love. on wednesday, state lawmakers voided an ordinance that offered protections against discrimination. >> all right. time for sports. march madness and villanova now that they've won last night they
