Reporter good morning, the family identified the victim who was burned badly here, at this gas station, late last night, as 21 year old Jacqueline Lopez of northeast philadelphia, they tell me, she is a single mother, of a young daughter, just three years old, and that daughter was actually here at this gas station at the time of the accident last night. Banked up, and burned out. The wreckage of two car crash and fire here at this kensington gas station. Sustained third agree burns, and second agree burns, on her hands, and from her waist down. Fire Officials Say the crash happened at this sunoco, at the corner of somerset street and aramingo avenue, just before 11 30 thursday night. Were told the driver misstook the gas pedal for the brake. Mistake that took out the pump and spark a big fire. Both cars were burned, and so was the woman standing outside. Im very upset about the situation, but at the same time, relieved. She is alive. And all of this, they say, was witnessed by the victim, 21 year old Jacqueline Lopezs three year old daughter, who was inside the car. Passenger of the other car jumped into help. Went in, kicked the window open, and saved the three year old daughter. Meanwhile, lopez suffered second and third agree burns, from her hands down. Her family tells us, she is now in intensive care but stabilized. Hard to see her in the hospital, but glad she is okay. Drexel university and u pen have similar policies, schools hope to prevent incidents, like the one in rutgers over the weaken, when 19 year old caitlin kovax died from alcohol poisoning.
