cbs news. >>lydia: and back here at home, a major, major october warmup to start your week. beth mcleod is in the first alert center with the latest. beth, how long will it last? >>beth: we are going to see the 80s for a couple of days. normally we don't get the 80s at least a couple days in a row. you have to go back to 60s laste of 80? days. tomorrow low 80s, a warm one and windy one on top of it. but to get things going on monday, some of you are going to be dealing with some rain showers. cloud cover gets us to lunchtime. then the sun comes out in full force. but in the meantime we are dealing with scattered showers, waves of rain coming through our area. we are seeing anything from drizzle to up to a rumble of thunder. this will continue. it will start lightening up as we go through the overnight hours. around till 9:00. but look at doppler max. yellows and oranges is not a good sign. if you have to head out tonight, be prepared to deal with heavy rain right through downtown, all the way down and starting to head out towards the east side. put a tracker on this. east cleveland just a little after 11:30. cleveland heights, 11:46. this heaviest rain of the area will move all the way over towards shaker heights. going south down towards stone hudson, they starting to break up a little bit and head towards youngstown. over on the west side of town, ashland is getting hit right now all the way up to sullivan, up to lorain and elyria. waves of rain, you can see it when i widen out just a little bit. not an all night soaker. but we're not done with this, not until tomorrow morning. your morning commute could have some rain showers in it. latest updates on the models gives it scattered light rain showers after midnight tonight. tonight we'll probably be waking up to a little fog tomorrow morning. but rain showers continue through the overnight hours. heavy at times. if you get set up underneath one of those heavy downpours, they are brief. temperatures stay in the mid 60s. our normal daytime highs is in the low 60s, so that summertime feel really starts popping with sunshine tomorrow afternoon. any time after lunch. behind this, lydia, after we get done with the 80s, we get a cooldown coming. when we cool down during the fall sso on a soggy note. i'll let you know when the next chance of rain pops. if it's sunday we talk about the browns. and they rallied from behind and were one to two point conversion away to tying it all. but just like the previous week, the browns lost it to the tennessee titans. mark schwab is here with highlights. i already know what went wrong, mark. >>mark: it's the browns. usually some kind of mistake. they lost another one today. came down to the wire. a lot of financial honked off two point conversion. not that they didn't convert the two but when they decided to go for two. 28-13. late fourth quarter, couple minutes left. kessler to pryor. touchdown. 28-19. so they're down nine. go for two now, go for two later. went for it now. did not get. cut 207 point game, stays a nine point game two. possession game. get an on sidekick. they did. duke johnson scored. cut it to 28-26 wit point. they had to go for another on sidekick and they did not get that one. lose 2-26. hue talked about his decision to go for two early. >> i went for two early because i know at some point i was going to need to go for it. rather go forth noun having to come back and do it again. why i did it again i knew at some point in time was going to have to do. obviously we didn't make it. then had to kick and try to get to on side. gave ourself a chance but i felt were going to need to go for two. >>mark: hears the rub. score the touchdown, down nine. a lot of people say dic extra point, eight point game. they feel it's still one possession game. need a touchdown and two point conversion. you have to go for two at some point or another. but for whatever reason i guess people just lose their mind if you go for two early, don't get it. now you're down nine. you just made it a two possession game. you're assuming they make the two later. you m later, go for two and not get it. i don't have a problem with what coach did. i've been taking a beating on twitter about it. >>lydia: i think everybody just wants a win. >>mark: bengals are coming in next week. >>lydia: not going to happen. i'm calling it now. >>mark: they lost, forget it. 0-7. other news, it's been seven years since the bodies of eleven women were discovered inside and originally planned for the victims of anthony sowell is still not there, but there is something else that's raising eyebrows. denise zarrella asking questions about a suspicious smell. >> that's a disgrace to the woman. that right there, that ain't right because you ought to have bigger memorials. >>reporter: a heated exchange over what's become of the place where the bodies of 11 women were found. a well planned out memorial was promised years ago. fa, activists like kimberly brown got tired of waiting and created this floral display along with a tree that symbolizes peace. yesterday that peace was challenged by a crew that said they were here to tear down some trees on the lot. >> this is the tree we planted on behalf of the 11 women, it's called the tree of peace. now the other trees you can feel free but you can't do it right now. >>reporter: aside from the fact that the memorial that was promised has still not been built close 207 years later, literally. the people that have been out here working on this lot and putting up flowers and maintaining it claim that there is some kind of awful odor, a stench that's coming from right here. >> now, we know that 11 bodies were found here. we just want to make sure that there's nothing else back here. >>reporter: brown has even made a formal air quality complaint. so far, nothing has happened as a result. we spoke to councilman ken johnson by phone, who says that equipment was sowell's home was razed to ensure that there were no more bodies to be found. >> and i'm not saying something is back there. i'm saying there's a foul odor back there that we have to be so assured that we don't have any other tragedies laying back here because there was an oversights. >>reporter: brown said she would like the city to do another authorize assessment of the property. it is not clear when or if that will happen. asking questions and getting answers in cleveland, denise zarrella, cleveland 19. high school sisters badly hurt in a car crash held a special fundraiser tonight. the accident happened back in september. five teens were inside this car when it flipped over in the rocky river metro parks. sophia barr and her sister viera require long-term care after they suffered brain scams. we're getting answers. beth? >>beth: cleveland was at 80 today. we should be at 62. akron-canton followed up with a 78. but we have some record breaking temperatures that could be coming our way, but first take a look at the feazel roof cam. it's awfully wet out there. some of you getting some rain showers. i'll let you know when they >>lydia: and welcome back. a new report is shedding light on children and gun deaths. over the past two years, one child has died on average about every other day from an accidental shooting. tony dokoupil has the facts about how and where most of these deaths are occurring. >> hurry. >>reporter: people buy guns to protect what's most precious to them, at a rate of every other day, however, these weapons do the very opposite. >> stay with me, holesston. daddy loves you. >>reporter: maiming or even three-year-old holeston cole of dallas, georgia. >> how did he get hold of the gun? >> it was in my book bag. >>reporter: bright and curious, qualities that made him a kid also made him a victim when he saw his father's pistol in april of this year. in a country with more than 30,000 gun deaths a year, the number of minors who die in an accidental shooting is relatively small, just 320 between 2014 and june of this year. that's according to a new investigation by the associated undercount in federal data and confirm some dark facts about our youngest and littlest victims. most die at home, with a legally owned handgun. and among the most common shooters and victims, three-year-old also. too young to each spell gun. >> another surprise finding was geographic. big cities like new york often come up in conversation about gun violence but the deep south actually leads the way when it comes to kids and accidental deaths. there is of course a simple a law that requires guns be locked up. especially at home. but that defeats the goal of a ready made defense, say many gun owners, which is why only massachusetts has passed such a law. and the national rifle association instead pushes educational videos. tony dokoupil, cbs news, new york. humane officers are looking for whoever shot a cat within raino. look at this than would. it happened near pittsburgh amount of woman came trout her home and saw that poor stray cat arrow through its back. luckily the arrow did not hit the cat's spine and she was able to walk. the woman rushed the cat to the animal hospital. vets did surgery and we're told that she's doing well. they're now taking donations to pay the vet bills. a lot of people celebrated sweetest day yesterday. and that has attorney general mike dewine reminding everyone to watch out for sweetheart scams. breland martin is getting answers on what you need to watch out for. becoming more and more common. but as you look for your next connection, you need to be mindful of who may be lurking on the other side of the screen. i'm talking about sweetheart scams and the better business bureau wants you to be aware of what can land you with a broken heart and out of thousands of dollars. all you have to do is get on an online dating site and meet someone and you can be a target. >> typically they'll say they're an american sit accept but that they're currently overseas for some reason. flag. the second, the person you've mettle say let's get off the monitor dating web site. >> then they'll start striking up conversations and indicating that you and they might have a future together, might be married. >>reporter: this process of falling in love usually goes very quickly. from there once you both decide you at one time see each other or get married, something always gets in the way. >> i have money, i'm very wealthy, but i can't get a hold of it for some reason. so can you send dollars or a thousand dollars? >>reporter: epstein said this is the third and most obvious red flag. if you let them, scammer will keep going till they get all the money they can because the relationship is a fake. he says remember this. >> if you get a relationship going with someone that they're someone accessible, someone you can actually meet and develop a relationship with in person and not over the internet. >>reporter: now, epstein says not all online relationships are loss, do your homework so you don't wind up scammed. i'm breland martin. >>lydia: all right. i'm going to go right to the weather because you know i'm going to love it this week. >>beth: well, you will. just know when you wake up tomorrow it's going to be on the cloudy side. rain showers, some fog around. >>lydia: i won't kaw you. >>beth: she will. she'll say i thought you said it was going to be sunny. chance of rain tomorrow is greatest in the morning. and even if so the latest model show just a chance of light rain. the earlier models did have the chance of some heavier downpours coming at very bad time. that's no longer there. doesn't mean it can't happen but a little heads up. morning drive might be a little slow. the fog might get you and if that doesn't get you, rain showers. then monday morning drives are kind of bad anyway. tomorrow's temperatures, low 80s. a little conservative on this but we won't lose the cloud cover until lunchtime. that's when we'll start seeing some heating. 60s. and then the clouds start scooting out of here and we'll start warming up. that's the way it works tomorrow. at least on the windy side. wouldn't spend too much time on your head. too breezy and rain showers. right now taking a live look at the radar, you can see some bands of rain showers. they really. gone very far but they slowly are going to move over towards the east. but behind that, there is more redevelopment. see as we continue to go through the night, you could continue to hear rain shors windows open, maybe want to lower from it the top so it doesn't come into the house. ultimately this system playing with our weather moves off towards the east northeast. and behind it, we'll start drawing in some of this warm weather. a lot clearer down towards louisville. we're going to draw a lot of warm air in winds will pick up both monday and tuesday. tuesday could be even warmer yet because we'll start off with the sunshine. even right now current yet kansas city is still near 80?. this is where our weather is going to be coming from. we're not going to be quite that warm but it's going to be warm. unseasonably warm actually. future view, right to 5:00 in the morning, the early risers just know there's still the chance we have some rain showers around. light in nature. maybe a little moderate downpour here and there. but most of cleveland is looking good and cloudy. 9:00, we are still deal with those rain showers. don't think just in the morning time oh, it's g and dry. no, this chance is still there it's by lunch time, the clearing when it starts happening, i think you're going to note. cloud cover scoots out of here. by 4:00 in the afternoon, we'll be hitting the high temperatures of the day. wind clipping along pretty good. wind gusts upwards of 30 miles an hour. then we stay high and dry monday night into tuesday. so tonight, that's definitely not the case. cloudy, foggy if you've had some of the rain showers come maybe 61. so definitely on the mild side temperature-wise. especially considering we should really, that should be our daytime high for this time of year. 81 tomorrow. 83 on tuesday. next system comes into play tuesday night. i think the rain showers won't start until about 7:00. sunset basically, so most activities will already be done if they're outdoor activities. i think the rain is done by wednesday morning. but it's a cold front, so down to about 72. still above average. s next alert day will be thursday. 60% chance that we have a very soggy, chillier day. as a matter of fact, that sets the tone for friday as well. good news is though, saturday, sunday right now, lydia, next weekend never too soon to talk about that weekend. we check in very dry. fall like, cooler temperatures. but at least right now it's dry. >>lydia: sounds fabulous. thank you, beth. as we said, another bad day for the browns. but hey, things are looking up for cleveland fans as the series lead in toronto tomorrow. we know it's going to happen.rk hey, what are you doing? getting the coats. he's getting more. more what? more than 30,000 movies and shows on demand, most for free. look, he's dvr-ing like 6 shows at once. let's go. ah, this grass is so much greener than on our tv. why are your shoes off? because i'm on their bed. i don't want to be rude. discover how much more is included. are those meatballs still circulating? get tv, internet and phone for $89.99 per month. have a chance to go 0-16 this year. that possibility is alive and well. today they went to tennessee to play the titans, one of the more beatable teams left on their schedule and they got beat. first drive of the game, titans go down the field. touchdown, marcus mariota john matthews. they hit a big one. kendall wright hauled in the bomb. did get the knee up to go into the end zone for the score. 14-6 titans after that. browns would drive. kessler to terrelle pryor. defenders in the area. 14-13. move to the third quarter. browns down a point. not for long. demarco murray, 21-13 after that. fourth titans blew it open. anthony fasano hauled it in. 28-13. this thing looked all but over but browns came battling back. pryor hauled in another score. 28-19. you go for two? well, they did. they didn't get it. so it staid 28-19. got on duke scored a touchdown. made it 28-26. they needed one more on sidekick and this one they couldn't get. they lose by a dues. deuce. browns lose 28-26. >> like i said, another game where we fought really hard and came just a little bit short. and like i said before, they hurt really bad. you know, i wanted so bad for these guys in the locker room and i told hawk and joe thomas them i'm giving them everything i have every time because i want it for them so bad and they deserve it as do the rest of the guys who put in so much work and work so hard. we come so close and just got to learn to finish. that's on me and that's on, you know, just us as a team being able to finish. to be more consistent. >>mark: so two point conversion is a bit of a lightning rod today. people are mad because they say hue jackson's decision turned the game into a two possession game. saying if he kicked the extra pot would've been eight point game. i'm in the minority here. i agree you go forth early so you know what you need going forward. then you can structure your play calling and clock management accordingly. i don't understand waiting till the last minute. what if they score a touchdown with ten seconds left? you go for two, don't get it. no time left for another on sidekick. cody kessler was sore but did play today. kid didn't look too bad. execute for 336 yards. two touchdowns on the endangerment he of not intercepted. finished with a rating of 105. he was sacked six times. but he's a rookie, was playing on the road and he was playing in pain because that beating he took against new england could've been a lot worse today for kessler. >> kind of played hard. cody continues to get better. and work hard at it. and you know, gave us a chance to win, you know, to be in the game. but our second half, starting the second h as i think it could be and should be. so we got to do that better. >>mark: jordan poirier picked up an injury in this game on this hit right there oh, that's a shot. lacerated his kidney. taken to a hospital. stable condition. he'll spend the night. we don't know how long he'll be out. sometimes players get this they're out for a few week, sometimes the rest of the year. >> he's at the hospital, where he'll be and he has lacerated kidney. and so, we're going to make sure until we find out more but that's what it is. and obviously we don't know, that's pretty serious, so we'll see where he is from there. i don't think the guy was trying to hurt him. i think he was trying to block him and sometimes you aim at spots and you hit some other things. so obviously, you know, again, it's football. >>mark: all right. it is game three of the alcs eve. not a formal holiday recognized on the calendar. but it feels like one to they're going to try to get up three games to one in toronto over, in the alcs tomorrow. trevor bauer going in this one because he could not pitch in game two. this is a drone injury. fans giving him some grief bolt. but terry francona didn't sound too upset he was messing around with his drone. he wasn't out in some alley at 3:00 in the morninged a got cut on a beer can. i mean, he, guys do stuff -- wasn't like he was water skiing finger. it wasn't remotely malicious. so, i know human nature you feel bad because he missed his start. but it wasn't remotely anything malicious. >>mark: how about this. bauer brought the drone to the press conference. i got to love it. you bring a prop. show and tell. basically said here's how my drone attacked me. >> i plugged it in, like i've done thousands and thousands of times. and for whatever reason, know, i was sitting like this, was plugging the battery in and my finger happened to be right here. for whatever reason, these three propellers didn't spin like they're supposed to and this one spun up at max throttle. never happened to me before. i have no idea why it happened. and my finger just happened to be in the way of the prop and it cut me. >>mark: he says he'll be good to go. cavs championship banner, they rafters. quicken loans arena for the first game of the year which coin seeds with game one of the world series. that going up with continue our coverage of campaign 2016. hillary clinton leads two national polls ahead of the last presidential debate. while more allegation of sexual assault against donald trump surface. kim hutcherson reports. >>reporter: with the final presidential debate just days away, two new pollings released this weekend have hillary clinton leading donald trump nationally among likely voters. the nbc news and wall street journal poll has clinton with an 11 point lead in a four way race, with trump, libertarian gary johnson and green party's jill stein. but abc news and washington post poll has clinton lead within the going to be close. >> the reason why you see the resilience in our numbers around the country, reason why you see such determination of the american people is frankly people see an overwhelming bias in the national media. >>reporter: the media has been recent target of trumps, claiming it's rigged and pushing false allegations. this as another woman, 63-year-old kathy heller, stepped forward saturday to accuse the business mogul of unwanted sexual advances according to the guardian newspaper. the trump campaign has den heller says trump kissed her without her consent at his estate in florida nearly 20 years ago. democratic vp nominee tim kaine believes the reason why so many women are coming forward now is because of trump's response to the access hollywood tape. >> as soon as he looked folks in the face and said those were not my actions, that was essentially the invitation to people who knew otherwise to come out and say, wait a minute, i've had an experience with donald trump. not actions. >>reporter: i'm kim hutcherson reporting. >>lydia: all right. we have a nice looking week. beth has been telling me, lydia, pace yourself. monday is going to start off a little cloudy. it's going to get better, right? >>beth: it will get better. monday especially will be the guide time where you grab your umbrella as you're heading out the door and your sunglasses. morning commute could be a little slow one because they start out with cloud cover and scattered rain showers. just a c showers. if you get rain tonight, you'll probably end up with a little fog in the morning. the system in play giving us these waves of rain will still be in play. unfortunately, over on the east side of town, chesterland starting to see heavier rain just starting off probably last a good 15 minutes. the burst of downpours and light rain showers are scattered in nature right up till about lunchtime. then it scoots out of here giving us a beautiful afternoon. keep in mind tomorrow we will be it's going to be windy on top of it. monday night is crystal clear and warm. tuesday, 83. next chance of rain comes in tuesday night but i think we get all day tuesday in and then thursday, i usually give you the pick day of the week, which i really think will be tuesday or monday afternoon. but i think thursday is looking to be the worst day of the week. little soggy and on the cool side. thank you, beth. oregon and washington state saw the remnants of a typhoon this weekend. and forecasters hurricane force winds on saturday. but the storm didn't live up to the hype, but it still did plenty of damage. ben tracy has more. >> holy moly. >>reporter: the winds were strong enough tow topple trees and power lines. leaving tens of thousands without power. and a big mess to clean up. >> when this fast moving storm sound with wind gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour. but this is the pacific northwest and even this storm did not stop people from coming out to take a look. heidi's daughter khaya was riding out the storm in singular style. >> so what are you doing out here? why are you not at home? >> well, we wanted to come out and do some storm watching. >> well, you're definitely watching a store. what do you think? >> very salty. >>reporter: this massive storm system fueled by the remnants of a powerful pacific typhoon could have been much worse. it weakened unexpectedly and tracked west, spare seattle the worst winds. the national weather service and some local meteorologists are taking some heat for overhyping the storm, but if it's your house a tree ends up on, you probably think the storm was plenty powerful. ben tracy, cbs new, washington. and still ahead, there's of an injured bear known for >>lydia: a
