Republican president ial candidate donald trump canceled it happened after thousands of protesters showed up inside and outside of this arena. These are protesters gathered outside the pavilion of the university of illinois in chicago. Dozens of uic faculty and staff had petitioned administrators to cancel the trump rally. This is what was going on, fights breaking out, security hauling people out as people were chant chanting we want trump. [ crowd noises ] [ indistinct voices ] [ chanting we want trump ] [ chant continues ] Trump Campaign release ad statement it says mr. Trump just arrived in chicago and after meet withing Law Enforcement has determined that for the safety thowns of people that have gathered inand outside of the arena, the rally will be canceled today. Trump himself, uh, had a had more to say, uh, he all right, we are going to go live to chicago in just a few moments and get an update on the crowds that are still gathered outside. For that. Mean time, new tonight at 10, a brutal attack at Universal Studios, park goers catching the tail end of a stabbing incident on their cell phone cameras. Tonight the state Attorneys Office is releasing new details in the shocking stabbing it happened on new years day at universal studio. Stunned guests could not believe what they saw as they witnessed the attack at islands of adventure. Caught on camera. So the state Attorneys Office just released parts of that video. One of the videos shows, uh, the suspect in this case chasing the victim through the park on surveillance camera. And then there were two videos that were taken by guests in the park. It was a strange day today about 2 00 p. M. Police telling me they showed up here at the request of a relative for a wellbeing check. When they got here, they found 89 year old carl lang with a gun on a table, and his longtime companion, 88 year old rosemary gets shot and killed, dead. Many saying to police that he shot her and killed her as part of a murdersuicide pack. He has been questioned all evening long. Police chief told me he was cooperating with police from the get go, answering all the questions, and then just tonight the charges came down. Second degree murder. So really we spoke to neighbors. Everyone expressing a lot of shock. This was a loving couple, a happy couple. What the motive was, we still dont know. We will get to that story shortly. Mean time in orange county, two people will each serve one year in jail after both of them were found guilty of participating in a dog fighting ring. A judge found Mona Cumberland and renaldo bell, both of them guilty of fighting and then baiting animal in an apopka home back in may of 2014. Cumberland was living at the home, but told the judge that she was not involved and in fact said she didnt know the fighting was going on. After the judge sentenced her to a year in jail, she asked for some time to settle her affairs. The judge denied her request. Also com brland. I understand this is not something that you want. I understand this is a difficult situation for all people involved, but the fact of the history that im looking at and given the facts that ive heard im not inclineed to do that especially because youve been on notice and have had time to make these prior arrangements. But again a weakening cold front so some rain showers mainly as we get into the afternoon and evening hours for sunday. And then eventually that fronts going to completely wash out. Areas from orlando south, early on monday still could have kind of a left over rain shower in the forecast. Overall look pretty good. Tampa, got 66 in jacksonville, 66 in pensacola. Look at the cloud again really thickening out to our west. We had some mid and upper level clouds kind of blow through the area again not any rainproducing clouds. There was this happened, uh, several hour ago, bob, and, uh, right now we got streets and sanitation crews cleaning up West Harrison here. Earlier, though, it was ugly inside the hall the trump people who had, uh, perhaps in florida youve seen this when he has these large rallies you can go online. Rn theres a website. Thousand protesters did that. It was clear when i got here this afternoon that there were many, many antitrump folks in line. They got inside shouting matches ensued. Rn all this before the candidate ever appeared. It got so chaotic, the scene chicago pavilion behind me which can seat about 9,500 people. The crowd was a little smaller than that. But the scene was so chaotic trump called it off and, uh, the protesters then came out here. They were jubilant having shut him down and, uh, they say they plan to do it again if they get the opportunity. Back to you guys. You know, mike, we hear that donald trump had made a statement saying please go in peace. How long after that statement came out did things start to calm down . Did it help to quell the protests at all . Well, the. One of the plies commanders just walked by shortly before we went live here, bob, and he estimated there were only about 10 arrests so, uh, the scene while inside chaotic, lots of screaming, and a hollering and shouting, and some pretty ugly things said. On both side, some punches thrown. I didnt really see anybody get knocked to the ground. I didnt see any broken jaws or imeef that kind of thing, um, so the cops are saying with the crowd of 10,000 or more inside and outside about 10 arrests. The situation was not, uh, that wild actually out here on the street in particular afterwards. There was just a lot of chanting. The protesters jubilant that they had shut donald trump down. The thousands of thump supporters who came down here, very upset, they insist this is going to back fire on the protesters. They say a lot of people across the country are going to be so out raged that the candidate was deprived of his right to free speech that on tuesday here in illinois and down in florida, missouri, and ohio, people are going to go to the polls and express that anger by voting for trump. That what his supporters say. Interesting, his opponents did not want to waste the opportunity. As soon as this violents started we saw both senators rubio and cruz take the opportunity to offer impromptu press conferences fortifying the point that they are the peaceful candidate, they are the alternative to trump. They really pounced on this opportunity. Well, and, you know, thats that was exactly how the dem n demonstrators portray it. There were also other groups. Move on issued statements even before the street had cleared here saying this is what trump has brought on himself, uh, thats the line from the protesters, the dem n strailters here trump and his rhetoric is what triggered this. And of course Trump Supporters saying nah, its you guy, this ugly ma mob that deprived of us of right to free speech. Mike. Its a debate thats going to go on for quite awhile. That lack of parking in coam cocoa beach, especially downtown, has lead to the creation of what the city calls boot leg, or gypsy parking lots. The city says these operators collect money from beach goers, but lack either the proper zoning, required infrastructure or business license in order to legally park them. These gypsy parking lots are essentially taking that business away from the true Business Owner who, you know, pays taxes, most things by the book. Over the past six months the city of cocoa beach says it sent cease and desist letters to 13 parking operators including vacant beach side lots like this one, but also hotels like the double tree and hilton as well as churches like our saviors Catholic Church and cocoa Beach Community church. But the city says it doesnt want to punish these organizations, but rather work with them to bring them in to compliance. Were here to help them, not hurt them. At the end of the day, everybody has to comply with the code. The city says five of the 13 illegal parking operators are either now complying or pursuing compliance, including the two churches.
