>> we will keep running towards the bomb blast as it goes off at the end of the boston marathon. we'll keep running towards the school where there is an active shooter, and we will keep running towards the towers while they are burning. >> ? stand beside her and guide her ? mike: veterans, active service members, and their families were honored for their service. >> it is so moving. it's not just the support of everybody else, but the cemetery itself does such a wonderful job. >> first responders are not given enough credit for what they do and who they are. could i run into a building burning? i don't know. >> i come here to remember 9/11 and honor all the veterans who have served. mike: while it was a closing ceremony, organizers hope people every night, but they will continue to play it every sunday afternoon at 1:00 in any weather from now until the opening ceremony memorial day. mike cronin, wmur news 9. cherise: the community came together in portsmouth for a moment of silence and prayer. the sacrifices of those killed were memorialized the police department commemorates the anniversary every year with a somber and meaningful ceremony. >> sometimes, when we might guys, not knowing what was going to happen, and unfortunately, this tragedy occurred, but that is what we do. honor the national fallen firefighters foundation. a unique remembrance tradition went on today despite the rain and wind. teams of volunteer hikers climbed all 48 4000-footers and raised an american flag in honor of the victims who died. our crew joined this group on mount pierce. it is called flags on the 48, and it started with one flag days after 9/11 on mount liberty and has grown every year. 14 of the victims of 9/11 had tio people and view a slideshow with their photos on wmur.com. cleanup is underway after storms swept across the state this morning. heavy rain and wind gusts and knocked down trees and took out power to 20,000 people. massive trees were knocked down on deering center road and on the mount dearborn road, causing outages. a person living in town got hurt, too. not hit the house, and it could have. it could have hit the shed. we are grateful that the damage wasn't any worse than it was. >> it rained very hard for a while, and we saw a little bit of wind come through. we didn't realize there was that much wind at the station, but once we get to the area where the trees were down, we thought, that is substantial damage. cherise: power companies are reporting less than 200 outages. unfortunately -- fortunately, it looks like we are in the clear. much cooler temperatures are moving in. meteorologist hayley lapoint tells us how cool it could get. hayley: you see hampton at 59 degrees. it is going to be chilly now that we have clear skies and this dryer air mass on top of us. this is a 12-hour loop of the satellite radar. you can see those storms that -- whitefield and littleton at 45 right now, and think about it. it's 11:00. we still have many hours ahead of us, likely fallen into the 30's up there, but 57 in concord. 63 degrees in manchester. for the schoolkids tomorrow morning, i would say a light coat or footie is needed. temperatures climb back inhe coming up in a few moments here. cherise: video just into our newsroom of a car that crashed into a home in concord. officers say a driver went off the road and into a house on ridge road just before 8:00. fortunately, nobody was hurt. firefighters were on scene to make sure the house is safe. >> basically to make sure hazards a structurally. cherise: that crash is still under investigation. police say the driver was looking at his cell phone during the crash. a pedestrian is in the hospital after being hit by a car in hooksett. police say a car hit a person on main street between riverside street and west river road just before 3:00 p.m. the pedestrian was met flight -- m hospital with serious injuries. a pittsfield man will face charges for hitting a police dog during a pursuit in the early morning hours saturday. canine casper sniffed out suspected gary craig craft in the woods after police say the man fled from a car crash. after a brief chase, officers found his car. during the rest, he hit casper, face a judge in connection to the suspicious death of joanne boucher. police have charged richard moore with second-degree murder. investigators say moore repeatedly stabbed her in her danville home. the ag's office is not commenting on their relationship, but neighbors say moore had been living with boucher. the state's primary election is two days away, but only 20% of registered voters are expected to turn out. are expected to head to the polls. that is due to more high-profile races on the gop side. analysts say almost all of the races are wide open, and if turnout is lower than expected, it is anyone's guess who will win. >> there will be all kinds of surprises. maybe one constituency is better organized and they show up, whereas other voters decide not senator kelly ayotte surviving her primary challenge from jim rubens, but in the other big races, it is looking unpredictable. in the race for the white house, hillary clinton and donald trump, remembering 9/11 in new york city, but clinton had to leave early. her campaign says she was overheated and has pneumonia. devin dwyer has the latest. devin: hillary clinton was among thousands, including donald trump, observing at ground zero. this is clinton left before the program ended. >> it was very, very hot. she was standing in front of me. she just said, we are going out. devin: clinton could not make it unassisted to her campaign van. this video shows her leaning against a pillar, then appearing to swoon before secret service agents catch her and help her inside. she was driven to her daughter friday. have identified the 39-year-old new hampshire man killed in a boating accident yesterday. police say mark green of moultonborough was driving one of the three boats that collided in massachusetts. all of the drivers were ejected into the water. football players are in the hospital tonight after a bus crashed at denver international airport. police say the school bus driver was killed when the bus ran into a concrete wall. authorities say the driver picked the students up and circled back to the airport before crashing. it's not clear why the driver was returning to the airport. i 125-year-old barn in vermont is being deemed a total loss. fire tore through the historic building at shelburne far. reporting tonight. >> a lot of history went up in smoke, and a lot of dreams for the future. rachel: the old dairy barn, reduced to charred rubble. >> by the time the fire departments were able to get here, it was fully engaged. saying lightning struck the barn, and the fire spread quickly. the chief says the department was not called until an hour and a half after the storm rolled through. the barn, built in 1891, was once used as a stable before being converted to the dairy barn, but for the last 20 years, it held a different purpose. >> since 1997, i for use in that building when we finally fix it up. rachel: he says more than 70 piles of lumber, fuel for the flames. >> it's a big loss. lots of years, lots of trees. rachel: the hope was to fix the barn up and convert it into a residential learning center. >> we still have those plans, and someday, we may be able to build hayley: these were some intense winds that moved across the state, part of a line of thunderstorms that moved through. you can see the last 12-hour loop of the satellite and radar, circles indicating where there was wind damage reported, and it looked like a few areas had trees down. this was telltale, signature, what we call straight-line wind damage with wind gusts possibly upward of 70 miles per hour. we did get some rain. certainly, there were torrential less than that in concord, hempstead, and in lee, only 0.15 inches of rainfall fell. everything helps in this drought situation. this
