according to a new poll, sanders leads six points among likely democrat voters in new hampshire. sean: some students are getting a little extra time off next week while their classmates take midterm exams. the recovery days are raising a few eyebrows for parents. ray live to explain how ray: good morning. the new initiative allows students who are doing well to take next week off and skip the midterms. classes will only be students who are struggling or need extra help. any student will be need to work on projects or want to complete community service. a lot of people seem to be on board and staff called out sick with a stomach bug. the school will be thoroughly cleaned over the long weekend. erin: a nashua man is accused of sexually assaulting a patient at a facility for developly disabled adults. 72-year-old charles bureau faces two desmine demean -- misdemeanor charges. it is a woman that wasn't able to speak for her. >> her inability to concept and he was involved on two occasions that we know off. as a result of those, he's being charged with a crime. erin: the former employer said in a statement he was immediately removed from our facility and terminated. we recognize the serious nature of the situation cooperation with law enforcement and state agencies involved. sean: maggie hassan says the state has a lot of infrastructure work over the next decade. her plan includes completing the i-93 widening, working on the exit 4a project sooner, the hampton bridge, and commuter rail plans to advantage. it includes work on nearly two dozen red listed bridges in the way of snow or sleet. then region by region across the state it is really going to depend on where you are across the state as to what precipitation type you get in bulk after sunrise tomorrow. for a lot of south and earn areas, it is over to rain. farther north could be mostly snow. temperatures anywhere from the upper single digits to lower teens. teens to lower 20's elsewhere. a light wind and plenty of clouds especially in the southern two-thirds of the state. a little surge of warmth. we should be up in to much colder air builds in behind the next front that arrives later on evening. upper range of the 20's to lower 30's. there will be a few hours where temperatures should be above the freezing mark. a little melting going on. it will be clouds and a few breaks before more clouds start filing in later on tonight ahead of the next system that arrives after midnight good portion of the morning before starting to taper off from southwest to northeast tomorrow afternoon. here's a look at it by sunrise tomorrow. wintry mix. it will likely be mostly snow in northern parts of the state. maybe ending as a little bit of sleet. as we cycle through this, you'll notice the rainfall. snow or sleet farther back to the west. up north, mostly snow. a pretty good hit of it. it could be a quick three to six inches tapering off. it should be starting to binddown in southern areas of the state after 1:00 or 2:00. sunshine and the quieter of the two days on sunday. more clouds come in. notice the area of snow showers may be a brief squall late sunday night or early monday. that's the leading edge of the colder air which we'll have around for a good part of next week. clouds and a few breaks. the light snow or wintry mix develops from south to north. tomorrow morning will be the heaviest portion of the symptom -- storm system. a general three to six inches of snow. farther west you get some snow. going over to sleet. it will be mostly rain with coating possible in south eastern areas before the rainfall kicks in. from there, a couple of snow showers or snow squalls early monday. much colder air along with a strong wind around monday afternoon, tuesday, and early wednesday. erin: this is the one chance; right? kevin: one chance for the next seven days. it looks fairly quiet next week. sean: thanks. let's check out the top stories with ray brewer. school who are doing well are being rewarded with extra time off. they will get to take next week off and skip the midterms. a lot of people seem to be on board with the dependency faces two counts of first degree murder in the warner. a judge said there were several reason for bars, including statements from new witnesses. one woman claims he once told her he was going to kill two women in nashua. barnaby himself confessed to taking part in the crime. it is scheduled to start in september. erin: a deadly crash in hudson is under investigation this morning. the accident happened about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. a ford taurus was headed south when it crossed the center line and slammed in to an suv. the driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. a woman and two children were not hurt. sean: as expected, the new hampshire senate has passed a number of measures to address the opioid crisis in new hampshire. among them is a bill to increase the availability of narcan and enhance criminal penalties for those who tribute distribute the drugs illegally. >> there's still more to be done. we need to fund and do a better job. there's some money that has to be appropriated. sean: these bills could make it to the governor's desk by the end of the month. the addiction treatment program has received a big grant from the march of dimes, the $127,000 three-year grant will be used to improve the care for pregnant women with substance abuse disorders. erin: new york has awarded the first certificate for cultivating marijuana. they will open a facility in rochester. once the company has completed cultivating its cannabis, the state will inspect a location in plymouth. after that happens, a registration certificate will be issued allowing the sanctuary to be begin dispensing to qualifying patients and designated caregivers. is expected to begin operations sometime this spring. sean: coming up, a close call for a family in massachusetts. >> i thank evening. starting during the overnight hours continue, we'll start to see light snow or a wintry mix develop. it should quickly go over to rainfall in south eastern areas of the state. farther west and north, you hang on to at least the wintry mix longer and likely a lot more snow up north. it should wrap up tomorrow afternoon from south to north. eventually setting up partial sunshine on sunday and much colder air arriving with the cold front early on monday. there's a look at it. a couple of breaks this morning. we'll have more clouds filing in from the west as the day moves along. temperatures will creep up with the light wind. question. it continues to make its way northeast. the computer maps had it much farther offshore. just over the last 18 hours have been creeping closer. instead of light snow, it will be an extended period of time starting through just after lunchtime in south eastern areas of the state tomorrow. hanging on longer in to the afternoon up north will be mostly snow from the white mountains northward. temperatures this morning a few single digits up north. a lot of teens to lower 20's. a light wind to go along with the increase and thickening of clouds. temperatures ranging between 26 and 34 this afternoon. not a bad day for a couple of southern areas. there may be an hour or two with temperatures above the freezing mark. clouds will only thicken up later on this evening. anywhere after midnight and certainly after 2:00 or 3:00 we'll start to see the precipitation move in likely in the form of snow or wintry mix as it moves in. quickly from concord, manchester, south and east going over to rainfall. farther west you go it hangs on as a wintry mix or snow. farther north as you'll notice here quite a bit of snowfall out of the system. pulling away from south to north tomorrow afternoon with temperatures just above partial sunshine and the quieter day on sunday with highs in the upper 20's to mid 30's. snow showers moving in. maybe even a brief squall will be the leading edge of colder air. we have an official hurricane in the atlantic. first time since 1978 we've seen that play out in january. that continues to move away early this morning. and we'll continue to see the fairly quiet conditions in to most of next week. we have to contend with tomorrow morning first which again is a mix to rain in southern areas with little accumulation. couple of inches. probably the three-inch amount will be across the higher terrain. up north the potential for as much as three to six inches of country. beyond that, partial sunshine on sunday. colder air as the winds pick up on monday. you'll notice the high temperatures most of next week in the 20's to near 30. it does look fairly quiet all the way through next week. it looks bright and chilly and brisker each day. at least storm-free through a good part of erin: where is all of the snow? kevin: we are officially a foot below normal. we'll need one big storm. that's all it
