why do they keep getting quoted? we had 41 degrees with yesterday's high. today through sunday, we're going to hit the low 40s again. the monday/tuesday issue will be a storm with more ice and rain. the chance of an all snow event is slim to none. we're looking at a dry one maryland's most powerful doppler radar. 34 in perry hall. a few slick spots out there. to talk about that, here is a look at the commute with kim brown. >> thanks, justin. we have reports of ice in a variety of places. fortunately, no incidents around the beltway on the inner or outer loop. no real problems here on 83 looking clean light to moderate volume as you make your way southbound. we did have a problem in laurel. that's still persisting at the b.w. parkway and route 198 because of ice. they have that closed and are waiting for crews to come to treat the roadways. northbound at the fort mchenry tunnel, we have a disabled vehicle blocking the toll plaza. one lane at the toll plaza. that earlier crash past white marsh boulevard. looking here at the travel times, no problems on the outer loop between 795 taking you a few minutes there. 95 southbound running a few minutes late because people are still gawking at that other accident. on the 895 outer loop between 695 -- i'm sorry, 95 split to the bw parkway looking good. no problems here downtown, jamie and megan, back to you. she has laid out some demands for tiger. laid out some things that she wants him to do, and she's kind of holding the cards right now. >> since thanksgiving, the media has followed elin every step since she learned about her husband's infidelities. that's the big story this morning. >> the word is that she is in the building, so to speak, but she's not going to stand by her man at least for now. >> you have to wait and see. the world's best golfer is expected to speak at 11:00 for about five minutes take nothing questions. here's what linda so is saying others are saying. linda? >> reporter: good morning. police have a lot of unanswered questions after hannah wheeling was found beaten to death at the cheltenham youth facility in for instance georges county. she was found partially clothed. police tell abc 2 news wheeling had been sexually assaulted before she was murdered. police say the cottage where she taught literature housed 20 boys who were deemed not dangerous to themselves or others. officers are interviewing staff and the youth at cheltenham. authorities say the boys at the cottage had access to where wheeling's body was found. >> it's our understanding that they moved throughout the building, yes. again, we're not ruling out any possibilities at this point. investigators are talking to them and talking to staff members at this time. >> han ma wheeling was expected to retire this year. she is survived by two daughters. coming up at 6:00, we'll hear more from her neighbors in bel air. sherrie johnson, abc 2 news. it's 5:45 right now. anne arundel county police need your help trying to find several sex offenders. they are wanted for various crimes and cannot be found at the last known addresses. here are the pictures right now. william floyd brown is 50 known to be in the annapolis and baltimore areas. then 32-year-old christopher gillenwater. 51-year-old raymond milton neeson. and gary nelson. he's 40 and was last known to be living in glen burnie. if you have any information that could help track down these men, call metro crimestoppers now at 1-866-7- lock up. a 9-year-old boy is in the hospital after a world war ii style pineapple grenade exploded in his hand. officials are not sure now if there was anything left over in the grenade or if it was just put into the device. is he said to be in serious condition. an atlanta hospital is developing a new program that will offer transplant surgery for people who have lost hands or other limbs. >> several years ago, matthew scott was taken to the hospital with his hand blown to pieces. after recovering, matthew underwent a ground breaking procedure that replaced his hand with one from a deceased donor. take a close look. can you tell which hand is the replacement? >> the transplanted hand is my left hand. if you put them side by side, the left hand is smaller than my right. it replaced what i lost through my own stupidity. >> scott credits emory university hospital in atlanta with giving him his life back. air travel is taking off at bwi thurgood marshall airport. the governor's office says more than 20 million people flew through the airport last year. that's an increase of more than 2%. bwi was one of only a few major u.s. airports to show growth in 2009. earlier this week, bwi was named the top-performing airport of its size in an airport service quality survey. let's take a moment here to stress what's happening this morning. we talked about it already. i know there was a special statement put out by the weather service and something that will be reiterated by kim brown. a lot of the temperatures are above freezing, and it's assisting with the snow melt. you may hear drip, drip, drip come ing from the gutters overhead on your house. 33 in columbia. most weather stations are kept above the ground or at schools on the roofs and are calibrated for ground temperatures. the ground itself could be a couple of degrees cooler. so even though we're reporting 33, it's entirely possible that the ground could be 31 or 30 and anything that melted did refreeze. even though it may appear warm, it could be slippery so watch out for icy spots. we have a generally clear to partly cloudy sky across central maryland. weather system on back to the midwest will not be a major issue for us. we're still watching that strong storm coming off the pacific and hitting southern california on saturday morning. that will make a weekend weather headline for them. that storm will eject itself across the southern rockies. break out the storm as cross the nation's heartland. we'll take this storm and a line of severe weather through texas. right now there's a big fluctuation with computer models which often happens when we don't have a major event this far away from the storm. considering our track record, a lot of people think we're going to get nailed with the snow event or blizzard. that's not going to be the case. there's not that much blocking cold air coming down from eastern canada. dense snow pack, yes. as the storm gets closer to us, the issue will really be the storm track and the fact that we don't have the cold air locked in place to give us another snow event. most of the snow will be locked north and west of the center. we'll be on an issue that will be depending on the timing on monday could start with snow and sleet and then go to a sleet and rain event. we have ourselves ice potential here and really too early to fine tune. plan for a little bit of a mess on monday. especially monday night with more rain could be flooding in virginia and carolinas. as the storm passes off the coast, then we get the cold air to swing hand and end this event with snow on tuesday. here's the way it plays out, though. for today, a nice day. 43, our two degree guarantee and back up with sunny skies. mostly sunny to partly cloudy. as we head through tonight, back to 32. again, there's that possibility that even if you are above freezing, the ground stays just cold enough, get slick spots. we're back with 42 tomorrow. let's see what's happening on the roads now with kim. >> reporter: we have reports of ice already this morning. patchy areas reported in loathian. also in dundalk, water shooting out causing flooding around the major highways. you can see traffic is flowing smoothly. we have reports of a crash northbound 95 near route 100. also have an earlier accident adjusted between route 32 eastbound instead of 95. bw parkway's still closed because of ice. the earlier accident i just told about you, they are in howard county. i do have i acrash reported at pulaski highway. that earlier crash 95 northbound still blocking both shoulders. 795 coming out of reisterstown and owings mills looking good from route 140 down to franklin boulevard about a 30-minute ride. two minutes and then again from owings mills boulevard about a four-minute commute. looking here at the jfx, no problem at cold spring lane. jamie and megan, back to you. she shot her brother in 1986. she is a suspect in the 1993 letter bomb. now amy bishop's lawyer claims that her client can't remember a thing. snow covered sidewalks forcing kids to walk in the streets, so who can we blame this on? fight the morning fade with sausage, egg and cheese breakfast bowls jimmy dean. shine on. and this is the warm fresh ked taste... of a strawberry toaster strudel. sethe dice? pillsbury toaster strudel. the one kids want to eat. that, on the list of things kids love, our party pizzas have just passed toy robots. awkward. kids love totino's party pizzas. here's a look at some of the top stories. tiger woods will apparently return to therapy after he talks today for the first time about his infidelity. this is according to the pga commission who're talked to a.p. last night. the letter shed no light on whether tiger woods plans to return to the tour any time soon. authorities in austin, texas say they have accounted for everybody in the building slammed into a building flown by a man enraged with the irs. he was furious with the internal revenue service and investigators say i launched his suicide attack on the agency by crashing his small plane into the building in austin. two broadies have been pulled from that building. a lawyer for an alabama college professor accused of killing three colleagues says amy bishop can't remember the shootings and is likely insane. bishop is charged with capital murder and attempted murder. she is now being held without bond. first was out. now toyota's president says he will testify at a congress hearing next week in washington. he's growing to be grilled about toyota's huge recalls. there have been safety problems about the problems involving accelerators, brakes, and power steering on various models. who's job is it to clear off the walkways? dozens of them are being forced out on to york road to avoid the icy sidewalks here. a spokesman for baltimore county says business owners and residents are required to clear the sidewalks. owners say it's the county's responsibility. a spokesperson with the state highway administration says they are only responsible for cleaning curb to curb, not sidewalks. only a handful of business owners have shoveled their front walkways. we were just talking. how about letting the college kids come out and shovel and get 25% off a pizza tonight. >> a good idea. >> what do you think?
