south side of the beltway looking good as well, 70 to 95 will be a six-minute ride this morning. a baltimore city police officer is told to end a high speed chase minutes before he crashed into a motorcycle killing the driver. linda sow joins us live in the studio with details. >> reporter: the officer thought the motorcyclist was racing a car, he tried to pull him over, the rider kept going. the officer was told repeatedly to stop and he didn't, moments later, the crash happened. haines holloway lewiston was working security at a bar. the chase started in the city and ended in the county on the ramp to delaney valley road. the officer, timothy beale, was chasing the motorcycle. the officer was told repeatedly to stop pursuing the bike, but he didn't follow the orders. >> i'm going to live with the spirit and not get mad at anybody right now. i can't bring him back, there's nothing i can do. >> officer beale has been suspended and is on paid leave pending the investigation. police haven't said how fast the motorcycle or police cruiser were going, but do say holloway lewiston didn't have a motorcycle license. in the studio, linda sow, abc2 news. baltimore city police say there was a reason to chase down the suspected drug dealer who was possibly armed. police were called to monroe street around 3:00 yesterday afternoon. a spokesmen says that tyrone hix rammed three police vehicles that killed another driver. they had to tase him before he was taken into custody. this week ravens camp will open. getting there isn't going to be easy. abc2 news sherrie johnson joins us live in the studio with a look at who will be reporting to camp today. ravens, rookies, quarterbacks and select players report to the best western in westminster today. they'll have four practices over two days all open to fans and the media before the veteran players arrive on wednesday. the first full squad practices are open to the media scheduled for 8:45 and 2:45. on monday, they'll hold their suite holders and sponsors day during the morning section. the ravens have a new autograph policy. players will sign autographs for children only after all morning practices. ravens executives say they changed the policy because of safety concerns for the little children. many nfl teams select a few players each day to sign a limited number of autographs in a designated area. the ravens have been picked as the second best team in the afc this year, behind indianapolis. in the studio, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. baltimore ravens top pick sergio kindal is in the hospital after he fell down two flights of stairs at his austin, texas home. the orioles are in toronto after losing three out of four against minnesota. jason hit his 7th career grand slam and kevin slowie took a 5-hitter loved one, only to find out later it's not even true. a loaded gun at a gun show goes off, hits a teenager, who's to blame in this freak accident? dad put me in time-out for a very minor dinner table in a car crash, only to find out the girl is still alive in a hospital. abby gera's family grieved while another family got bad news. the family members were confused. officials are looking into what caused all the identification mix-up in first place. in fayettesville north carolina firefighters found a body of barbara towry. she appearsppeared to have been beaten to death. a teenager attending a gun show was injured when a gun went off. it is rare for a loaded gun to be loaded at a gun show. the teen is expected to survive the shooting. we weren't the only ones experiencing severe weather. a massive storm ripped through chester county pennsylvania. high winds brought down trees onto cars and homes. the area was hit with torrential rain and hail. storms came through yesterday for most of us, between about 3:00 and 4:00. just highlighting right now, this yellow dot, one mile east of annapolis, wind gusts just before the 4:00 hour. look at all the wind damage reports for the most part. biggest threat out of this particular storm complex was basically heavy winds. there was hail to be found at green dot, right there, mannheim pennsylvania, one inch hail. just outside the mant ryland line, we're looking at this particular one right here, just outside of cecil county. also at one point, 7.5 inch hail. temperatures hit 100 degrees again. we broke a record saturday and sunday, not going to happen today. 87's where we belong. we finally begin to pull back on the almanac. temperatures slow down and cool down for the tail half of the summer. 101 set in 1940, that will not be achieved. 72 right now in baltimore. we have the warm stuff still hanging tight. you'll notice the drop in humidity. you'll notice the clearing sky. if coming from the northern tier, temperatures back in the 60s really par for the course as we head through the end of july here. there's the complex of clouds and storms passing well to our south. we open up a northerly flow, that should give us a much more pleasant day. temperatures aiming above normal at 90. we've broken 40 days this summer. with it less humid we become accustomed to this heat. should be a much more comfortable afternoon. for tonight, back to 66 degrees. as we check out our extended forecast, sorry that's an old graphic, we're expecting temperatures to make it back up. that's an old graphic as well. we have to shake the debris-related closures in anne arundel county. closed at st. stevens church road. southbound lanes will be closed in two places at moore road and college parkway. northbound richie will be closed at around road. checking the beltway, traffic moving very well around 695, 95 corridor checking in without incidence. drive time this morning, no problems, northbound 95. route 100, howard county. 29 owners. at&t usually gets the blame when there's something wrong with the iphone, but in a new survey, 73% of iphone users gave a positive response when asked how they feel about at&t's service. only 69% of users are happy with their service provider. you can add tone check to the list of grammar checks. scandals e-mail messages for sentences and phrases that might carry too much emotion. the program works by comparing your words and phrases to a massive database and flagging any sentences that might convey the wrong tone. a test version is available for free right now. in a couple months, sony will release its motion control system for the playstation. it's similar to the wii and comes a month and a half before microsoft releases the hands free connect for the xbox. >> someone who's had a wii for a long time, i noticed the sony remote control is much more sensitive, much more accurate. it's exciting to see sony pushing the boundaries a little bit. they didn't just copy the wii remote. they had to do peripherals and new features to it. finally, queen elizabeth, the second, is expanding her online presence. the british monarchy has started an account on the sharing site trees came crashing down, gunpowder state park. this was the storm that blew through between 3:30 and 4:00. powerful winds causing trees to snap in half, like tooth picks. it's amazing when you get 60 to 70-mile-per-hour winds in the right direction. what it can do to older, large more mature trees. all it takes is to be underneath one tree that snaps the wrong direction to have that turn fatal. we had one fatality in beltsville yesterday. we check uh, look alternate some of the temperatures this morning, ills notice, we're back down into the 60s, at least north of the city. chester town, you're
